I heard at like lvl 200 your magic basically becomes useless, this seems helpful but it still seems like eventually youll be hitting people with marshmellows again

Whats wrong with it?

This prevents soul trap on weapons from working.

can you please teach me how to create my own magic scaling me, or could you make one for me??
artboi_6046 11 Dec, 2013 @ 11:11am
I consider this an essential mod
Michael  [author] 24 Sep, 2013 @ 4:10pm
Yea, Its the nature of the way the mod was created. It is easy to set scaling for magic, but since enchantments are counted as magic, they also scale and have to be excluded by keyword. Sometimes they don't have the right keywords or when DLC came out, new ones were added. Unfortunately, I am no longer active at maintaining my mods. Go into the creation kit and learn how to do this yourself. You can open up the mods from other people and figure out how they work.

There's another problem, you've excluded some enchantments, but it's by no means a comprehensive listing, and doesn't include enchantments from the DLC.
Michael  [author] 24 Sep, 2013 @ 3:42pm
I use the the unofficial skyrim patch too and I included the fixes from it into the file already.
Warrior 7 22 Sep, 2013 @ 4:25pm
Is there any way you could make a version of this mod compatible with the Unofficial Skyrim Patch? The USKP modifies PerkSkillBoosts too, and I'm worried having your plugin load after it will revert the fixes made by the USKP.

Can you upload this on skyrim nexus ? Thanks in advance

Illusion should probably affect higher levels as well.

Bug reports are useless without working steps to reproduce them. If the problem is unique to your system, then the problem is on your end. (mod conflict, or something worse)
I've tried doing what you said, I added the perks and used the spell, but the purple glow on detect life is still working.
hutopia 20 Jan, 2013 @ 8:58pm
Cheers, mate. I don't have any mod effecting any perk. You could look into other's comments, they may explain better than me. One of them mentions that he fixed the problem with the creation kit, and he'll re-subscribe once you fix the bug, etc. To be more specific, the perk affects the corresponding level of alteration magic, only alateration, others so far are fine, e.g. Adept Alteration bugs Detect Life; Expert Alteration bugs Detect Dead, etc. This is a good mod, and now I got rid of the two perks, and it's running fine. All I'm trying to do is to provide valuable feedbacks, to counter potential bugs in your future mods. Cheers. I won't be bothering fixing it with CK, but you may want to browse through the comments section, see what other people think. Great job, hope to your other mods coming out!
Michael  [author] 20 Jan, 2013 @ 8:17am
Start by not having any other mods running. Try an older save too. You may have a bad mod that had lingering scripts or something.
Michael  [author] 20 Jan, 2013 @ 8:16am
You need to give me step by step details on how to reproduce the bug if I have a chance at figuring it out.
Michael  [author] 20 Jan, 2013 @ 8:16am
Remove any other mods that affect that perk. This mod makes no changes to it. I can not recreate the problem you are having.
Michael  [author] 20 Jan, 2013 @ 8:10am
I'll take a look.
hutopia 20 Jan, 2013 @ 2:44am
Hi, mate, I guess a couple of other people have already pointed out the question. It's the "Adept Alteration" perk causing the fact that: the magic animation and magicka comsuptions are fine, but the magics have no "effects", means the detect life has no "purple fog" around the people, etc. I used the consel to remove the perk, and the magics are now fine. Could you please fix this in the next update, many thanks.
Michael  [author] 12 Jan, 2013 @ 8:07am
@lujin1983 I double checked with your theory. I used the console to increase my alteration skill all the way to 100, and detect life still works.

How many mods are you using?
If you disable all of them, does your detect life work?
If you disable all of them, and only use mine, does it work?

How exactly is it not working? What happens.
hutopia 12 Jan, 2013 @ 4:05am
Hi, mate. I double checked, and I'm pretty sure it's this mod doing the trick. Now I know there are Detect Life, Detect Death and Teleksis, these special alterations are not working. Maybe it's conflicting with other mods. But it's weired that all other magics work fine, and I don't have any other magic mods. Please let me know if there is anybody else expericing the same thing, and managed to have a solution. I really love this mod, as it makes magic useful in later games, otherwise, the magics seem to be useless after level 50.
hutopia 11 Jan, 2013 @ 9:01pm
Thanks, mate. I'll double check, see if it was some conflicts with other mods I'm using, will let you know if I found out. Cheers.
Michael  [author] 11 Jan, 2013 @ 7:33am
@lujin1983 I just loaded up my game and checked. My detect life spell is still working, and I use all of the mods I made, including this one. This mod makes no changes to detect life or detect dead. All it does is modify a perk and it only affects magic schools, not individual spells.
Michael  [author] 11 Jan, 2013 @ 7:29am
I'll take a look.
hutopia 11 Jan, 2013 @ 1:50am
Hi, I love this mod. It's just after I installed it, the two "detect life" and "detect death" spells no longer working. Could you please provide a solution for this. Many thanks.
Ideo 4 Jan, 2013 @ 6:12pm
hey yo!

Happy new year ^^

I didn't played for a while, since i'm moving out of France to go to san francisco for 6 months. so i sold my computer and got back on my laptop. This explains that.

First skyrim is making it suffers as hell (it's hot as hell on my lap anyway ^^) and second i desactivated the steamcloud for skyrim long ago after a bug... and never reactivated it before selling my pc :/ :/ :/ meaning my mage is dead, and the next char i'm gonna roll certainly won't be a mage archetype since there is no way i'm doing the same things the same way again ^^ so i'll be givin a shot to the sneaky archetype next time i'll play (i got morrowind and oblivion while in sale, i must go through em again before hehe)
Ideo 4 Jan, 2013 @ 6:12pm
I didn't want you to think i came here to throw my stone in the water and then turn away from the effects so here am i explaining myself ^^ you did a good job and i'm happy you lowered the destru coef ^^

while searching for this mod (for some reason all my suscribed were unsuscribed when i logged from the laptop) i stumbled across a mod called 'balanced magic' v3.03 which seems to be a nice rework of the system. you may want to check it out if you still play mage ^^

well good job again and have fun this year ^^

Thanks
Commander Shepherd 30 Dec, 2012 @ 9:20am
Good job, mod seems to work great.
Michael  [author] 21 Dec, 2012 @ 8:01pm
yes
pyedog777 21 Dec, 2012 @ 6:42pm
Does this mod affect new spells from other mods?
ejdupras 2 Dec, 2012 @ 12:34pm
That d at the end there was a typo, ignore it.
ejdupras 2 Dec, 2012 @ 12:33pm
Thank you. I've looked far and wide for any kind of mod that improves Telekinesis, and was yet to find one until I stumbled across this. Once again, Thank you. d
Michael  [author] 28 Nov, 2012 @ 2:16pm
Yea, I specifically added conditions to the boost restoration power part that it doesn't affect any enchantments. It used to before I added them.
Orncaex 28 Nov, 2012 @ 2:11pm
It may not be just your mod causing the restoration scaling. The restoration strength boosting powers up other buff effects... i had a 50% magika regen then switched to a restoration novice robe... and the other robe jumped up 7% and minor bonuses to other things. I also suspect my restoration level boosts powers but honestly with the lack of spells that fortify your skills i dont know why your worried about fixing it. I will also admit it might be another mod i have working with yours that does this so that may be a thought. I favor Scaling over Tiers
ElliZarah 28 Nov, 2012 @ 2:05pm
Ya, looks like I missed the mod's update on the nexus that fixed this problem. My bad.
Michael  [author] 28 Nov, 2012 @ 1:44pm
Thats good to know whats causing it.
ElliZarah 28 Nov, 2012 @ 1:15pm
Huh.... gave it a try and I guess it's not your mod then, looks like it's affected by another mod: Realistic Needs and Diseases since the encantment value drops when my character gets thirsty and goes back up after drinking.
Michael  [author] 28 Nov, 2012 @ 9:51am
@ miragesabourin Find out whats making the enchantment power increase. Open your console and type "advancepcskill restoration 10000000" without the quotes. That should give you 10000000 XP for restoration, which is enough to max it at level 100. Tell me if your enchantment got stronger after that. then reload your previous save game to undo the change.

If it is, I'll figure out whats causes it and make an update.
ElliZarah 27 Nov, 2012 @ 8:42pm
A hood I have with fortify magica went from upping my magica by 50 to 56 (wasn't keeping a sharp eye on it)
ElliZarah 27 Nov, 2012 @ 8:41pm
Are you sure you fixed the enchantment issue? Pre-enchanted items I have are steadily getting stronger, haven't checked if it's because of enchanting skill or restoration skill, but they are getting stronger.
eldritchsyntax (hammerfell) 27 Nov, 2012 @ 10:54am
Maybe I should expiriment with that giant nordic urn that you can somehow put in your inventory.. Wait! No! telekinesis can pick up some beartraps! even better!
Michael  [author] 27 Nov, 2012 @ 10:48am
I think it depends on the item weight, but I'm not sure.
eldritchsyntax (hammerfell) 27 Nov, 2012 @ 9:55am
wait a second wait a second... "increases the damage of telekinesis."? so.. say I have 100 alteration.. what sort of damage does telekinesis do then?
Tycho 23 Nov, 2012 @ 10:26am
This + player.setav destruction 9999999 = Over-Powered.
Michael  [author] 21 Nov, 2012 @ 10:29am
You can do that with my other mod, Fortify -Alchemy and Enchanting- Swap.
It makes enchantments increase spell power. Fortify Illusion makes it affect higher level enemies.
Results May Vary 21 Nov, 2012 @ 1:00am
should make a version that increases illusion spell power for people using mods that make enemies' levels scale
Michael  [author] 20 Nov, 2012 @ 9:26am
Yes, it will work for already existing skill levels.

amd vanilla Skyrim only lowers the mana cost.
Michael 20 Nov, 2012 @ 6:16am
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I dont know two much about modding with Skyrim. Does this mod work on already existing skill levels?
