I made an effort to justify the situation within the already ambiguous setting. Yes, antimatter drive. According to the limited knowledge of RimWorld spaceships that should't really surprise you. Obviously the the engines weren't ftl, I wrote sublight and is it really too unbelievable that a fighter that was probably in, or close to in orbit of the planet and could (crash)land within a matter of days? Maybe starting with a weeks worth of food is a bit much given they'd probably be up there for a few days but come on.

This scenario makes no snese. Antimatter drive? And having a weeks worth of rations, you'd be dead far before making it to the planet. Note that the lore of RimWorld heavily relies on the fact that humans have NO FTL whatsoever, and rely on cryptosleep caskets to freeze themselves for long journeys. A small fighter would not be afforded such a casket.
