This looks more like a Planet Side 2 turret.

That sucks. I think it's possible to edit hitboxes. When you make them visible, I think it's possible to move them and rotate them... as far as resizing goes, though, I have no idea.

Yeah, I know, it is mostly cosmetics... I've done it using the gatling as base item in the first time but it falls through the ground because the hitbox stays on the gatling, kinda ignoring the bottom part. As I don't know how to edit the hitbox, this is what I came up with :(

It barely works... when you interact with it, it shoots from the bottom and hits the ground almost immediately.
