There's a bug with the large and extra-large country roads, railroad crossings are kinda in the middle of the right lane and cars drive through it. I don't know if you still update these things, or even look at the comments, but it would be nice to see that fixed.

love using the mod, but having a small issue if i buldoze or upgrade a old dirt road + 2050 its crashing and not getting a lua or any error message,

these roads are not primary to towns either but have noticed some go to industry could this possibly be an issue?

I came to the same conclusion as @jhughes, seems the clipping and changes to the standard road lua files, completely throws off some station mods (especially the Freight Airports mod).
I personally patched those mods for myself replacing the "new_small.lua" with your "station_new_small.lua" road refrences, since I need them in a new TpF series I'm planning, but it'd be nice if you could patch the standard roads back to normal.

@Sparky66 I don't know if you know (or care) about all the broken 'Terminal Not Connected' issues with this mod. I love the extra streets and other things you have, but not playing well with other mods means I can't use this at all. Very unfortunate.

I seem to have found the major issues for most mods is that for the Standard Game Roads, your lua files change a couple things that are causing them problems .. Basically 'Road Width' and 'Sidewalk Height' are what seems to be the issue.

I think if you set the road width and sidewalk height to the base file values for all the original roads you will fix all the 'terminal not connected' issues. I have no idea what that might do to your textures, etc. .. but it seems like something you would want to fix if you want the maximum people using your mod.

The terminals not connect issue is still happening with other mods.
All of the airport mods I've tried cause this.
The high capacity truck/bus/tram station mod causes the connection issue when using a road larger than medium (ie a 4 or 6 lane road).

The other problem is any station truck or bus, that has a secondary street connection, the cachement area from the station does not extend out of those secondary street connections.

Hey,

Is there any chance that we would be getting the narrow variants of the roads this mod adds? I know they are already included but I can't build new narrow roads. Medium, large and extra large? Just a question out of curiousity actually.

Darn, it's been awhile. Fortunately this mod still pretty much perfect for all of my US based maps.

Is there any way to make one way roads? Big cities have a lot of them, and it would create a way to build interstates with entry/exit ramps.

Think you could repaint that green steel bridge to a black color? Many bridges of that design but black color were built around 1900 to replace earlier wooden trestle bridges in the US and Canada once trains began getting larger and heavier. Many still exist today, albeit with a bit of rust on them. :steamhappy:

ESSENTIAL mod for US maps (along with Sparky's town & vehicle mods). I just wish I could enable this one on saved games. =(

further testing, all your new roads. US UK and Euro pop the terminal not properly connected
with just that 1 station.
All 4 road mods give the same error with the freight airport mod.
frieght airport I can live without
Trucks stops I cannot
Hopefully you or Danny can figure out what is wrong

here's a new conflict for you
DMA road stations 4 lane country truck stop(old dma from steam and new from their site)
works fine with your old disco mod and game default roads
but not your new version.

Barracuda: yeah, I haven't worked out how to change the order yet. It's only a minor thing though.

Next thing I am adding will be historical streets, old style cobblestone streets but with modern road markings that can be built in the modern era.

Update has done the trick for me, only grip from me is that the tiny street comes after the small but that is just a OCD thing. Well done on the quick work :steamhappy:

Updated, let me know if it works.

It's actually related to the same problem with my old road mod where a local mod works fine but a workshop mod ignores a configuration file and loads all roads anyway. What I have done to fix it is have some duplicate USA theme roads that have a start and end date of 1850 so they load but disappear immediately.

I also did a Verification Integrity Check, just to make sure something wasn't out of order. Still the same issue. It's not a Mod breaker, I just have to choose the roads a little more carefully, or just go back to the old version.

After running all three of the mods, It seems that they all have the same problem. Its a huge shame because the generated roads and the modern ones look great.:steamsad:

I only play US scenes, so I didn't download those two. Maybe Barracuda has them, and can shed some light there.

What's your road menu look like with no mods at all? Just to check you have nothing that could change the roads. The road end year mod will likely conflict with mine as availability years are defined in the same files that my mod changes.

I have Old roads - No end year. I've been using it since I can remember, even with your discontinued version. I don't think this is the issue with your Mod, though. Yes, I've also tried it with/without that Mod as well.

Bob: the screenshot without my mod isn't the base game, you aren't supposed to be able to see the dirt USA and cobble Euro roads at the same time. You must have something else active that changes old roads and it appears to be conflicting with my mod.

Also tested with/without experimental map setting. This is the only Road Mod I have. Here are pics of what I see:

Those were all made on Tiny maps, using the experimental map sizes to make the loading go faster, I did check on a medium and the Bos-Wash corridor map to make sure the experimental sizes were not effecting it as well. It does not seem to be the problem.

I did some tests just now with only this mod enabled. All 1850 as the modern roads work properly.
Test one(USA Settings): No changes
Test two(USA with Euro Roads): No changes
Test three(Euro Settings): No Change

I have the same issue as Barracuda. New game, using Real USA Map Mod, that I used with your Discontinued Version, and all settings are USA (except for terrain). There are several blue box icons where roads should be.

Barracuda: I tested this mod a bunch before uploading and never had that issue. I've no idea how that could happen, was it a one off or does it happen every time? What settings are you using when creating a map? Try setting the road type to European when creating the map to see if that makes a difference.

I seem to be getting a bug causing all roads to be visable during the 1850 start, it is not a compatability issue however since the only mod I had loaded at the time is this one. It is showing about 13-14 different tiny raods, some with pictures (Wrong ones) others without. Road generation from maps however seems to be working fine.
