This mod is now properly represented by the Vanilla Structures Expanded: Security Module! It contains a barbed wire that looks great AND damages people!

Sorry but I do not have the time at the moment. I will fix it in about a month. There was a lot of changes to the underlying code that I used to make this work so its not an easy fix.

for everyone who wants better textures, simply load this mod first, then another mod over it with another barbwire texture and itll use this mod's code while using the other mods texture

The texture isn't great, but the effect is a gift from the gods.
permanent trap that doesn't require resetting, reliably causes slightly bleeding cuts when being passed, causes a decent slowdown when being passed (and from what i've seen it damages even those who melee the barbed wire).
Not overpowered (unless put in like 10 rows), softens up tough raids and especially manhunter packs (This mod is almost a must have when using Dinosauria or Dire Raids etc)
Doesn't trigger on neutrals (incl. predatory animals that are already hunting your pawns or pets but haven't attacked yet).

I do realize this is pretty dumb to ask, but will you ever change/add a different texture for it beacuse it's not that good looking and it doesen't really fit teh art style of the game.

Jackass reported; from back in July. IDC if it was from several months ago... I see a totally UNPROVOKED & UNWARRANTED, ghetto-ass-trash, BS attitude attack on someone, like that... whom did nothing truly wrong to deserve, nor solicit it; in the first-place;.. on what is supposed to be, a reasonably civil & public venue here;... I squash that crap like a bug. Sick of seeing so many people nowadays... with utterly, no resemblance of what proper manners, or common sense & decency are, nor showing, even a proper ounce of civility.......

On a lighter note, great MOD & TY for putting it out there. I would mirror, a few others, whom have also suggested, trying to get a different graphic for it tho, however... I agree with your statement, that functionality is of course, most desirable & important. But of course too, most everyone, would still always like, that cherry on the top, ya know... ( ;

Just curious, if youve ever reached out to anyone..? Or, perhaps you just didnt care to, for w/e reason..? If so, thats cool & is your bidness of course & its still a great addition to this game, either way.. & yeah, prolly wont give it too much thought at all, TBH; once seeing it in action in game, Lol... Just saying, eye-candy makes ya dandy... or something like that, Lol.

Id like to let everyone know that if youre like me and use several mods, and one includes a barbwire object already make sure to load this mod AFTER that mod, otherwise this mod is overwritten and the other barbwire will be the only buildable thing

I am not noticing any slowing effect on animals, mechs or colonists that pass through the wire. Damage is occuring, just no slowing that I can see.

@klacoste They will activly avoid it as long as a safe route is not too far comapred to the barbed wire route. It has a similar pathfinding cost to sandbags. If you make the barbed wire section too thick, the raiders will be more likely to avoid it if there is other options.

Query: is it possible to get a green version of this, named Blackberry Hedge? Made using wood would be most feasible, but a steel cost could make sense, while also keeping it from being unbalanced.

I've been telling my husband for years, if the apocalypse comes, we're just going to plant blackberry bushes all around our property, because yes, you WILL take damage if you try to go through that mess.

I love the functionality of this mod. Thank you for making it.

Who cares what the sprite looks like. As someone who grewup on a ranch that had barbed wired fences, the other mods that added it were kind of disappointing because there was no change of damage that could be done by moving over/through it.

Calm down, not everybody is an artist. The functionality of the barbed wire is more important than its looks. From what I have seen, this is the only barbed wire mod that exists for rimworld that actually does damage, all others are just retextured sandbags.
