@velar it still works for grand campaign so must for DLC
Velar  [author] 12 Jun, 2022 @ 2:13pm
It worked for all units as it changed the EXP tables not anything unit specific.
That being said, I haven't modded Atilla in very long time, no clue if this is still updated but I assume it still works since it has subscribers still and its unlike the EXP tables get changed from updates.

Does this effect DLCs?

Unfortunately, I do not believe so FFS. Sorry! Anyone is welcome to take this and republish an updated version though.

Any possibility of an update?

This would make champions to take longer to rank up a unit due to the EXP cost increase. Example: If it costs a unit 10 EXP to level up. It now costs them 12 EXP to level up. If a champion gave 2 EXP per turn to a unit it would take them one extra turn to rank up that unit. I wouldn't call that a buff, though, champions are much more important to an army now.

"- Increases the growth rate for unit ranks (see screenshots for examples)
- Increases the EXP cost for a unit to rank up by 20%."

How does this affect army training by champions?

I was thinking about EXP today and it occurred to me that any mod that simply boosts stat bonus from xp will indirectly buff champions.

Did Attila update recently? (I haven't played in months.) These tables shouldn't change so you can ignore any alerts Attila is barking out. I am re-installing my Attila copy to see about updating it though.

update this pls
Velar  [author] 16 Feb, 2018 @ 5:27pm
Yeah, becareful when modifiing that table! If you use my mod for reference my values are not 1:1 changes. When you edit that table the changes are exponential. My mod only slightly changes that exponential curve to increase a certain percentage.

I ended up installing the assembly kit and figured some stuff out there. What I did instead was removed all experience recruiting bonuses from generals, characters, buildings, army traditions, and ministers. I then lowered each level of experience requirement by 15% in combat. One thing that was interesting though is the table that shows what stats increase and by how much is incorrect. So when you try to change it nothing happens. 2nd level experience grants +2 attack and +2 defence... That table doesnt show that.
Velar  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 11:07am
If you download Pack File Manager and edit my mod you can just remove the experience damage, etc bonuses. You'd just have to keep the table that is for the EXP required to level. Its slightly higher than vanilla but you can just edit it to your liking.

It sounds difficult but it will really only take a few minutes if you know what you're doing or an hour if you need to watch modding guides and stuff.

Add me to friends if you can't figure it out and I can help out.

Are there any mods that just up the experience gain rate? I play with house rules by not using veterans in my armies because it ruins the immersion of experienced units. I'm fine with the vanilla bonus just want to up experience gained in combat as it's extremely difficult to gain without the use of veterans.

Could you create a Rome 2 Version? Sorry, if this was allready asked.
Velar  [author] 15 Oct, 2017 @ 11:56am
I don't think that this would be all that hard to make for Shogun, but I do not own it so I cannot say. Thanks for the feedback though!
SomnusGod 11 Oct, 2017 @ 9:18pm
This is amazing. Do you know if there is a Shogun 2 version for this?
KARMA 21 Sep, 2017 @ 11:40pm
cheers for the mod, thumbs up for being compatible for radious.

i think the mentioned mod adds around 3~5 additional stat pt per rank, estimated at best
Velar  [author] 5 Aug, 2017 @ 6:34am
Grey, if that is the case Valuable Veterans may have really beefed up the growth rate. The rate is very sensitive and can be quite temperamental to adjust. I believe I found a sweet spot with my mod.

I just tested Slingers vs Foederati Spears with my mod and here are my results;

Slingers Rank 5 (Silver 2): Atk 16 (base 7) Def 9 (base 2)
Foederati Spears Rank 0: Atk 22 Def 32

While spears are not quite the best melee killers they would absolutely take out rank 5 slinger unit as rank 0. But as a take-away here I must note that the growth tables do not care about the class or unit type. If you change the growth its for everyone.
grey 4 Aug, 2017 @ 11:11pm
i don't have exact number as well, but i got a case where a sliver 2 slinger ended up better than stock feodorati/levitanii in terms of melee atk,def and morale

Grey, great feedback. I had searched for exp mods and while I didn't find "valuable veterans," I also didn't find any mods that suited my needs. So I created this one. I believe my mod, while pretty similar, has a different function. Mine changes EXP cost as well as the rank growth. Valuable veterans doesn't effect XP cost and also doesn't actual list the changes to the table so I do not know what it changes. I haven't used his mod but without an idea of the growth of the troops I am not sure I would have tried it. To be clear, I am not knocking the author, he has contributed more to the community than I have. However, I do not believe his mod addressed my specific needs.
grey 4 Aug, 2017 @ 6:43pm
i thought 'valuable veteran' mod more or less fix the useless veterancy issue
araveno 4 Aug, 2017 @ 12:19pm
Thanks, excellent mod.
Big Boss 4 Aug, 2017 @ 10:24am
Excellent, i will definitely use this then. My mod primarily deals with the viking and magyar raids of europe so I like the idea of veteran vikings and magyars coming in and beating up higher tier and better armored but less experienced franks and germans.

Great question, I will answer with more detail to help if other's have a similar question. This will work with any unit, custom or not. Because it effects the experience tables which are a unique set of global data tables under "db". Custom unit or not, every unit looks to this db entry for their experience tables and bonuses since it is only defined in one place. This table cannot be mapped per unit as there is no field for it, because of this, they all must look to the only table present.
Big Boss 4 Aug, 2017 @ 9:50am
I guess one question I have is if this mod is only for vanilla units or is there a db entry for experience that would effect the new units I am adding in
Velar  [author] 4 Aug, 2017 @ 9:09am
CPL Iroquois Pliskin, yes sir go right ahead! I can also offer feedback if you wanted to edit it to better suit your mod.
Big Boss 4 Aug, 2017 @ 8:29am
Hey can I incorporate this in my Dark Ages overhaul? I'm looking to incorporate realistic mods like this and I will give u credit of course.
