I fucking love this mod, cause it saves your ass from all those cheap ass deaths- like a horribly timed jump or a certain swim in toxic water. More likely however, is a death trap of fast headcrabs and poison ones, too. That wombo combo has doomed more people than Men can count, and countless shambling bodies still remember that moment. Not I; beset on all sides, I can live to fight again! It's so real, too! I know myself, and I have a blissful amount of anger and rage. I picture the Centurion, surrounded and being wailed on by claws or bullets all around him. And popping one of his crosses, he bursts in a rage of vengeance and fury. Letting out a fearsome battle cry as he wails back on his assailants and puts them back into their place. Why every reviving mod on the gmod workshop is being deleted??!?!? (excluding Filzos one)
Reviving in video games are a great addition to gameplay, makes the game more co-op like.

and @Lieutenant, how did the Rage Revive mod work?

The addon automatically turns buddha on and off depending if you have more lives or not. This is why it wont work online since I think buddha applies to everyone on the server, while the number of lives is a per player thing. So if one person runs out of lives, everyone can be killed.

Okay I see. Im looking at my (ghetto) code right now and yeah I have it taking lives at HP < 2. I used the Buddha command which prevents the player's HP going bellow 1 from "normal" damage. But can't prevent you from dying if something else force kills you. I think I remember trying the 0 thing first, but couldnt stop it from killing you immediately after it hits 0. Even if i said "if(hp ==0) then hp=100". it still kills you first. Thats why I went the buddha route.

So I just tested it and if I have 70 HP and do "hurtme 70" with no armor and more lives, with or without damage carry over, it still will take a life and not kill me. Are you performing a simular test with different results?

yeah something like that but not exactly right...

meant in my example that since it only activates when at 1 hp and not 0, any damage taken past that 1 hp wouldnt activate the life, instead you would die..... because it went past the number hp of 1 needed to use the life. ( if you have any remaining )

i think this is more simpler idk
10 hp + 10 damage = 0 hp = death ( since hp didnt reach 1 and rather past it )
10 hp + 9 damage = 1 hp = use life

So I understand the first part about having it use a life when it goes under a given HP so you can set it to take a life at a higher value to almost act as a damage buffer. But if you could explain your example a little more. But first come clarification from me. In theory, if you have lives left and "damage carryover" is off, you cannot die no matter how much damage you take, the only way something can kill you (by my knowledge), is if it sets your health to zero, or runs the player.kill() command on you.

So your example: if you set it to take a life when below 10 HP, and you have 1 HP, this would mean you have no lives left. So taking 5 dmg would kill you. Otherwise if you were at 15 HP and had more lives and took 10 dmg, it would reset your health to whatever you told it to and take a life? Correct?

sorry about all the questions. Im a coder and i like to make sure we are on the same page if I were to add this feature.

so it works when you are at 1 hp..... any way to change that in setting so whatever you set it to, any hp at or below the number uses lives? ( cause of having a really low chance of reaching 1 hp and somethimes overkill weapons.... example: taking 5 dmg when having 1 hp doesnt use a life, instead you die normally )

Anytime. I mean technically this does add health but in a different way if that makes sense. You could just add 300 extra health so you have 400 instead of having 3 extra lives. But that is less fun in my opinion :steamhappy:.

Sort of but not exactly. If im correct, the energy tanks just add health making you take more damage defore death. This adds lives that when lost, give you back all your health while taking a life. Simular to lives in many arcade games. For a demonstration, you can watch the video in with the screenshots. The lives are in the top right corner. For more info, read the description.

I like this idea. It is not possible right now but I will look into it. Creating animated textures is kinda complicated and that's on the end user, not me. Ideally what you mean is to enter a gif in the options as the symbol icon and this doesn't work unfortunately.

Did the update come through? I added a valuable feature called "Damage Carry-Over" But it didn't come through on my other computer until I deleted the old gma. Can someone do my a solid and let me know if the option is in the menu? Thanks.

JohnWeak: That's my own creation. It will be a part of my collection pack that I will release when I feel it's ready. I can't add the ammo types to weapons that I did no make since that's not how CW works unfortunately.

Landy: Awesome. I would appreciate your feedback if you have any. The multiplayer version of this is on my list of projects. Which is not short *sigh*.

I await the release of the custom gloves mod.

In the mean time I'll try Life Line out when I get the chance, and see how it holds up as far as making combat more interesting. I'd love to see how it plays in multiplayer, too, so that should be fun to play with if you do end up making it work.

Thanks! They are called Bucker Gloves. Heres the link to the origonals . I improved them for my own use. making the rubber parts on the palm actually shiny, and the leather on the back more reflective as well. Plus I made them grey and changed the arm texture. I have a mod started that allows you to completely customize them such as color, arm color(levels of tan), tatoo, and symbols.

Glad you noticed and the answer is simple. Laziness: when I made it originally I wanted to run the life system on the client. I forgot to change it after changing it to server.
