The unit's not being editable is part of how the mod was made, to make it compatible with the base campaign and as many user or editor missions as possible I had to force the equipment to spawn. If I specifically want to use different equipment for a certain mission I use another faction from the same side relationship (blu/red/indep) which works just fine/as normal. It's not something I can even attempt to change without a complete remake of the mod from scratch.

can you make it that it DOESNT take over the UNA faction. Or either change the UNA faction in such a way they still look like there from UNA...

@jarrad96 [4SFG] you have created a great mod, your fighters look much more realistic, but the main problem with your mod is that all units cannot be edited in the editor!

This kills all missions that have specially edited NATO units. It also makes it impossible to create a mission with specially equipped NATO unit. Please add the ability to edit units, this is how Arma3 should work.

Are you using any ammunition compatibility mods? One of them is broken and removes all the SMA magazines from the compatibility list.

Just a heads up the mags that are give to the units are not compatible with the M4 rifles that are given to them

Would it be possible to add this as a FIA Indep Overhaul? I really like the weapons and equipment, but I can't use it due to Antistasi not allowing me to steal BluFor uniforms.

You can't really, it's an entire replacement pack, so it's all or nothing, as when it detects, for example, 'NATO Rifleman' it will force replace his equipment, and I don't plan on making a version that only replaces the guns and keeps the default uniforms as I've ALREADY made 4 different NATO replacement pack versions with different mods.

One issue,the NATO Combat Patrol Team Leader 'B_patrol_soldier_TL_F" carrying MK18 MOD1 OD -BK(m203),but uses 40mm 3rounds HE,that doesn't mattch the gun.Unacceptable as a good mod.Can you fix it?

Some units in the main campaign are forced to use set loadouts by BI, and I can't do anything about those, and occasionally the replacement doesn't work, but I've done everything possible to make it reliable for as many possible scenarios out-of-the-box as I could.
That is also why it does not replace vehicles in the campaigns, originally it did but that caused issues with mission scripting, and it's much more reliable when keeping the vanilla vehicles.

Yes, it may be conflicting with some SMA magazine compatibility mods.

There are 3-4 around, and my own ones work just fine with all my factions/ units, but others will for certain break ALL my factions that use NIA/SMA weapons.

for whatver reason, the magazines on the solider arent compatible with the given rifle, it's like this on all of your mods for me, could be another mod causing this, any idea which mod it could be?

No, it's not possible to change the contents of those crates used in missions. I was able to play through all of Act 1 of the campaign using the new weapons not the MX though, just relying on picked up gear from bodies or my own starting M4/ gear in each mission.

This should also replace Tropic NATO with the Overhauled units. I can't differentiate between the two on the technical side, so it replaces both.

I plan to re-do this mod with some newer code (the RHS version of the mod already uses it) soon-ish (it's a lot of work, as I'll need to re-built it from scratch) and hopefully that might make the bug less common. I will say that in my testing the AI squad did usually have the custom gear though, except for medics/combat life savers and Kerry himself.

Yeah ive noticed the same. Just did 4 campaign missions around Camp Maxwell and everyone inside the camp has the replaced gear and weapons but once I do a mission they all have vanilla stuff. Really sucks I cant see this mod in action.

That is a bug that does happen on occasion. I'm not sure exactly how to fix it, and it seems a bit random- alot of the screenshots above are from the campaign and the player's squad is replaced, such as Showcase-Infantry, for example.

I dont know if this is just on my end but in the campaign my squads only do not get the replacement gear but everyone else does. This happens whether Im squad lead or not.

That's the reason I started this in the first place- at the time, no-one was doing faction packs at all, and outside of single factions (like 3CB,BWA and the like) or people like RHS/CUP there was nothing since Massi years back.

I wanted to kind of fill that gap there and cover as many groups, originally SOF (hence the name) but later INDEP and OPFOR, from as much of the world as I could.

Well, you do good work, just needs to be corrected a bit. I haven't been able to find many persons who do good replacement packs with the latest stuff.

I'm starting to release Zenith stuff now, but I'm slowing down making factions because I've been doing this for a year and a half now so aren't as enthusiastic as I used to be about making them, to put it blunty. I still like doing it though.

Thanks @jarrad96. I like VSM, and was waiting for your Zenith stuff, but had to use this. Auburn also has one with the Zenith, but uses the same Alive config which messes stuff up.
Odd thing I also encountered with yours, I could not open backback of my subbordinate, which could be related.

I've been in talks with the devs for a while about it, and I have a beta/testing branch version that fixes that problem with editor (these Overhauls are older, some of my newer factions have editor support) but I don't want to go live and replace all my mods with it until it's a little further along in dev/ has some fixes.

You really should not use the "odd ball" approach of using Alive for creating your replacement packs. This method sets the unit loadout / weapons on spawn, so anything done in editor to change those, is overridden.
Also, you should set your requiredAddons[] = in the config to include the addons needed.

Oh, in that case- not all weapons have a M1913 Picatinny rail- that's the long [][][][][] on top or on the sides of the weapon itself- some older weapons, such as some of the G3's, only have unique scopes.

For the G3's in particular, look for anything with RIS / RAS in the name, those have the correct mounting system, or the black G3's or black G3 with grenade launcher, often carried by grenadiers or team/Squad leaders, as those have 1913 rails while some of the more 'ordinary' and basic G3's used by Riflemen and such do not. (Assuming AAF Overhaul are the bad guys)

Oh, I don't know what happened then, one time I remember I couldn't put a flashlight on a G3/SG1. Another time I think I tried to mount some sort of holo sight on the SG1 after dismounting the Accupoint sight.

You can simply detach them from another weapon- all the weapons they use support both vanilla (base game) and modded attachments (such as the laser/lights and scopes that come on some units)

Hey, I just downloaded all of your faction overhauls for the campaign and love them, but is there anyway to use the attachments? I haven't been able to use any attachment with a weapon that didn't already come with it yet. I love the mods though, I'm happy to play the campaign again!
