@Blizcat I've seen some mod authors talk to and get permission to use models from mods of other games, particularly either Sins of a solar empire or Homeworld, and I do know that homeworld has a Macross mod, perhaps you could talk to them as see what models they have and are willing to share?

@khagler I used data from macross2.net to find status of ships in Macross. I compared the sizes of the ships displayed there, and assigned them to match the weapon ratio in the set as much as possible.

@Lord Hylia From the time I was making this mod, I wanted to find someone to do the modeling, but the person who decided to help this out gave up for personal reasons and borrowed the modeling of the vanilla ship.

@Miedeth//Ships, technology, buildings, etc. are related to the political system. For example, UNS is democracy, Gentradi is oligarchy, Windermere is in the same way. The reason I chose this method is that I didn't know how to select technology through events because it was in the early days of mod production when I created this mod, and it has been used without major problems since.

Since it was bugging me I decided to take a peek at the mod files and I thought for anyone else seeing the same thing I was and wondering why here's what I found. The reason I keep getting Zentradi tech while playing is the government types I'm choosing. If you pick hive mind, oligarchic, or dictatorial the UNS techs don't show up. If you pick democratic, imperial, machine intelligence, corporate, or hive mind the Zentradi techs don't show up. So now going forward you guys will know.

Overall I'm enjoying the mod, but I don't seem to ever get the UNS ships. I was really excited to build the SDF 1 as I've been naming carrier designs that for as long I've been playing stellaris, but so far only the zentradi ships show up to research. In my current game, I decided not to research them just in case the ship designs are mutually exclusive. Do I need to pick some trait, ascension perk, or something else to get the UNS designs to show up? For clarification, I'm playing a custom race I created and not any of the ones that came with the mod.

One of the greatest cartoon moments in my life was in 1985 when Robotech first hit the TV in my part of the world... Thanks for the this mod. As long as it works I'll probably never uninstall it.

I finally developed the Northhampton class frigate, and it's a battleship-size ship with multiple hangar bays. I wonder if this is a bug, and the Uraga class carrier has been mislabeled? A Northhampton should be destroyer sized, or maybe intermediate between a vanilla destroyer and cruiser.

there is a problem with macross s mod's latest update where all the buildings are deleted , pop is reset to 1, and all districts deleted. there is a 2 game month delay before a reassembled ship shelter shows up. this can cause major problems a lot of mods that prevented the pops from being set to 1. i loaded the game with just this mod activated after trubble shooting to see what was causing the problen i do have the Lithoids Species Pack

@tonysixwing Some components(ex. regult or vf-1 etc) are just only use some government. for example, democracy and AI can use UNS tech and macross.
