@Firestar Go to "Starbounder the official starbound wiki" and search "Tag" then use appropriately tagged furniture in your colony buildings.

PLEASE HELP. I'm new to the whole colony building and I can't get one of the mech tenants. Will someone please tell me what im missing. I have a light, a door, a bed, 8 storage crates and 8 tables. This setup gives me normal merchants but I want mech merchants. Please help!! :)

Other tags seem to be getting in the way in that case. When I tested it, I used the big crane arm thing (found above penguin Pete's shop), glitch armor suit, and 2 generic small crates. Also be aware that your door's tags play a factor too.

I suggest just try getting different furniture and get as close to the requirements as you can. They all do spawn, it's just a little finicky.

My merchant won't spawn. It just spawns in a random guard. I have a I'm in a space station with plenty of room and I have a wrecked turbine for mechanical, a sword rack for combat, and a orange space crate for storage. I also use FU.

Could you add a version where we can still find random vanilla blueprints instead of only being able to buy them?

Yep. But these blueprints also don't show up on the random mech blueprints anymore.
