Crashes the game when the menu is opened on a grid with one of these blocks on it. I don't think ive had this problem with the 1x1 gyro though.
Shaostoul  [author] 28 Feb, 2021 @ 2:22pm
Maybe? They're more than likely not balanced to the latest version of SE vanilla gyros. Someone else needs to confirm.
Revolver 28 Feb, 2021 @ 8:04am
Does this work?
Shaostoul  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 9:59pm
Hey guys, I'm so sorry to do this to you, but I need to work on my future for concern of not having one if I'm not careful. Please check out the video added to the description discussing me going on hiatus from modding Space Engineers.
Shaostoul  [author] 5 Feb, 2019 @ 12:26pm
Maybe? I don't have the source files for these any more, so I'd have to remodel them which would take forever and I'm busy with other projects right now.
Allammo 5 Feb, 2019 @ 1:30am
I love those thrusters, however it's hard if not impossible to say which side is front and top, this is crucial for override function. Perhaps you could do something with it?
NotTildaSwinton 30 Dec, 2018 @ 11:38pm
banana for scale/
Shaostoul  [author] 26 Nov, 2018 @ 12:36pm
It also made scaling them easier. I made a spreadsheet and I needed the base to start from and work up so I can try to keep them balanced to vanilla. I don't really want to make same block size but, more powerful blocks. If I'm going to tier something, it needs to get bigger, instead of just more powerful and use more components.
Dr. Fish 26 Nov, 2018 @ 11:45am
that too
PeterRabbit 26 Nov, 2018 @ 11:42am
The vanilla tier one is useful because it can be mounted from all six sides, instead of having only one mountable side.
Frission 26 Nov, 2018 @ 11:37am
How about making them x2 at least? Could always add Tier 0 for just vanilla power.
Dr. Fish 26 Nov, 2018 @ 11:13am
it looks neat
Frission 26 Nov, 2018 @ 8:21am
Not an accusatory or anything, but why even have a tier 1 if it's the same as vanilla?
Shaostoul  [author] 23 Nov, 2018 @ 9:53pm
I'm in a bit of crossroads right now. I'm not playing anything and I'm not modding anything. Everything I want to play or mod comes out next year. I'm really contemplating getting into modding for Fallout 76 but, that won't be until late next year. I'd really love to make some custom games again for Warcraft Reforged. In a weird "feeling lost" sort of area.
Archaeosis 23 Nov, 2018 @ 9:27pm
Hi Shaostoul, just wanted to say I hope things work out with you & your girlfriend's health situations, I loved your mods and Youtube modding tutorials for SE, it's good that you're taking time for what's important though, hoping you don't feel pressured to get back to Space Engineers before you're ready
Shaostoul  [author] 15 Oct, 2018 @ 10:28pm
Thank you! Unfortunately the hearing went poorly. I received the denial letter around a week ago. The GF is doing good though, she's recovering and no complications.
CT_Marauder 15 Oct, 2018 @ 9:27pm
Glad to hear about the good results for you both lets hope she remains cancer free and you both have a long happy life together!
Shaostoul  [author] 23 Sep, 2018 @ 1:32pm
Good news, the hearing went okay I think. It'll be a bit before I know for sure, I don't know how long though. GF had a full hysterectomy and is now cancer free. I've been spending all day, every day taking care of her. She's recovering but, it's a slow process. Things look good so far. Thank you all for your wishes and patience.
Dark_453 22 Sep, 2018 @ 6:06pm
Hey Shaostoul, I hope your hearing went well. i know it will be a few weeks before you hear anything. Fingers crossed for you my friend.. and Please wish you GF well.. and i hope you both start to have some better luck for the furture. (I have my own disablitys and in the UK atm there ripping the money from people that need it.. ive had to fight twice for it).. *peace out man* GOOD LUCK..
Overheal 15 Sep, 2018 @ 9:17am
I feel you. GF has POTS and her mom has Chron's. Take care of yourselves
Shaostoul  [author] 12 Sep, 2018 @ 4:24pm
Yeah but, it'll be a while. I'm dealing with Crohn's Disease issues, my GF is dealing with cervical cancer. I have my disability hearing on the 18th this month and if I get approved, I'll hopefully be able to put more time towards modding again and look at moving to a new house with fast internet so I can live-stream. When I start live-streaming is when I'll likely be able to put the time into modding again. Right now it's real hit or miss with how I'm feeling.
Overheal 12 Sep, 2018 @ 4:17pm
Would it be possible in a future update to do some linear/different shaped gyros? like 2x6 etc
Shaostoul  [author] 11 Sep, 2018 @ 4:55pm
Yeah, the mount points definitely aren't linear. The scaling is but, I boost them the larger they get, so they're more powerful than vanilla but, balanced to vanilla.
Overheal 11 Sep, 2018 @ 3:10pm
The only way to argue this isn't linear scaling is by noting the placement restrictions on vanilla gyros: if they were blocks its definitely linear. For example, 5x5x5 = 125 blocks, would be 125 vanilla gyros. 1:1. Linear.
Shaostoul  [author] 25 Aug, 2018 @ 9:37pm
It's okay. I understand your POV but, I'm trying to make a living off of this through Patreon since I can't work a normal job.
Pea かなこ 25 Aug, 2018 @ 7:14pm
sorry :steamsad:
Shaostoul  [author] 25 Aug, 2018 @ 1:23pm
I don't approve of advertising someone elses mod on mine, especially considering mine works.
Shaostoul  [author] 14 Aug, 2018 @ 9:09pm
I'll try to get to it later but, my health and real-life stuff prevents me from working on modding as much as I used to. I already have a few paid commissions ahead of this, so those are first, since they're paid.
Shaostoul  [author] 14 Aug, 2018 @ 8:31pm
If you provide all the numbers, I can change it.
PeterRabbit 14 Aug, 2018 @ 8:24pm
As in, I use actual physics formulas to calculate how much turning force the gyroscopes can apply given the radius of the gyroscope and the mass. I'm pretty sure I talked about this with you before, but effectively the end result is that the higher tier gyroscopes are way more powerful than linear scaling. If I scale up off the large vanilla gyroscope, your tier 5 is only around 4.4GNm while my tier 5 is at a more significant 20.0GNm.
Shaostoul  [author] 14 Aug, 2018 @ 11:54am
@Kanako eventually? I'm busy with a bunch of stuff. I have two paid commissions I'm working on right now.

@PeterRabbit what do you mean "more realistic scaling"? These were balanced to the vanilla gyroscopes and were made to get better as they get bigger. They're not just linear scaling.
PeterRabbit 14 Aug, 2018 @ 12:42am
Is it okay if I publish my own version of this mod that has more realistic scaling? It would be massively beneficial to people creating insanely large ships. Obviously it would be marked as a modified version of your mod with appropriate credits.
Pea かなこ 14 Aug, 2018 @ 12:28am
so am i ain't getting new higher tier gyros with the size of tier 5 gyros? :steamsad:
Dr. Fish 14 Aug, 2018 @ 12:22am
Current length is 2.5 km
Dr. Fish 14 Aug, 2018 @ 12:07am
Seeing that ship makes me wanna start up my old mega ship project.
I lost it due to a needed PC reset.
Shaostoul  [author] 13 Aug, 2018 @ 8:42pm
That's why you don't build ginormous ships. SE doesn't handle it very well.
Pea かなこ 13 Aug, 2018 @ 8:27pm
not good at stetting those up XD
Shaostoul  [author] 13 Aug, 2018 @ 2:34pm
Oh, there's a new one, sweet. I thought that mod was dead.
PeterRabbit 13 Aug, 2018 @ 2:31pm
The best alternative turning mechanic is https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=660333966 which does a really good job of using thrusters to turn your ship. Just remember that unlike gyroscopes which you want at the center of the ship, turning thrusters you want as far away from the center as possible.
Shaostoul  [author] 13 Aug, 2018 @ 1:05pm
Yeah, different turning mechanics would be nice but, we're not getting those :/ There's a mod that supports it but, it doesn't perform well in-game.
Rastro 13 Aug, 2018 @ 1:00pm
I think this calls for different turning mechanics, not just more and bigger gyros. 1.8 km; that's...... big.
Pea かなこ 13 Aug, 2018 @ 7:16am
i just want a tier 10 gyroscope with the size just as big as the t5 ones XD
Pea かなこ 13 Aug, 2018 @ 7:15am
ok.the hotkeys for sim speed is "shift+f11" . my sim speed is 0.60 at peak and 0.38 at minimum
Shaostoul  [author] 12 Aug, 2018 @ 9:40pm
There's sim speed and FPS, they're "kinda" the same but, they're actually different. FPS goes down if your graphics card is struggling typically and sim speed goes down if your CPU is struggling. There's a key combo... control+F10? or something like that, it brings up a little bit of yellow text on the top left area of the screen.
Pea かなこ 12 Aug, 2018 @ 9:27pm
It flies even in atmosphere somewhat :/ and it's length about 1,8Km. What sim speed? Yoy mean Fps?
Dr. Fish 12 Aug, 2018 @ 9:06pm
Christ
What's the block length?
Shaostoul  [author] 12 Aug, 2018 @ 8:20pm
That's ginormous! That thing flies? How's your sim speed? I see the sim speed warning.
Pea かなこ 12 Aug, 2018 @ 8:17pm
my ship looks like this https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1477278018
and its back https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1477277973
the gyroscope is roughly about 780-ish... [almost entire back and side wing engine filled with gyros XD]
Shaostoul  [author] 12 Aug, 2018 @ 11:38am
What's the ship look like and how many gyros are you using?
