Hmm, steam might be acting up. You can try manually downloading it and unzipping it into your mod folder (direct download link at the bottom of the description).

Yeah, we don't know and it's impossible to know what they called themselves. The culture today is known as Poverty Point as that's the name of the archaeological type site (which in turn was named after a cotton plantation that was on the site before the mounds were first found).

Too bad we have to call them something so degrading. I assume we don't know what they called themselves, let alone understand their language.

Thanks, @willowvignette. Not sure why I didn't see it before. Sheesh.

There's a direct download link at the bottom of the description...

I'm not seeing this Civ in either the Mods folder or as a selecton in the setup screen.

Don't suppose you have a direct download link? I've subscribed and unsubscribed x2 without any luck. I'd hate to clear the cache and have everything re-download since I only activate some mods and leave others to experiment with.

Thanks.

Another mod you are using is causing Poverty Point's pop-up lua from firing incorrectly. You will have to figure out the conflicting mod.

I seemed to have found a bug. I was playing as a different Civ. The game asks me to choose a spirit guardian right before I started. Since I was not playing as Poverty Point, I can't choose anything so I can't continue. Kindly please fix this bug.

If your mod is complete, save it all in mod buddy, then make a build of the mod with modbuddy (Build -> Build Solution), then in modbuddy go Tools -> Publish to Steam Workshop -> Begin -> Upload New Mod -> Accept -> ... then select the built solution.

So i have made a Mod on ModBuddy but i have no idea how to upload it, could you help?

It’s not as straightforward as being finished. The truth is, I simply don’t have the time to mod at the moment. Over the past year my personal schedule has gotten much busier. So, when I do have the time to start up again in maybe a year or more, how many people will still be playing V? I also don’t really have any mods planned for VI. I’ve already ported my Historical Religions mod but, besides that, I’m more inclined to see how the game is after the expansions are released than anything else.

Too bad you'll be moving on now, please stay here, don't move to the blasphemy that is Civ VI
Tomatekh  [author] 16 Aug, 2017 @ 5:18am
I actually like Civ VI. It’s different from V, but V was different from IV. However, I do think that VI needs it expansions released before it will be as good as V; there are some gaps in content and design similar to V had at release but were eventually added in with GK and BNW.

VI modding is somewhat different. It’s not as user friendly as V (not that V was all that user friendly to beign with). They also haven’t released the DLL yet. If they do, than that can open up a lot of interesting stuff. Though modding always depends on what modders are around. A lot of big names for IV never moved over to V, etc. So we got different types of mods.

Without taking up any of your time, in just a couple of sentences, what then is your opinion of Civ VI?
Tomatekh  [author] 15 Aug, 2017 @ 9:57am
Yeah, it's sad to see it come to an end. But Civ V modding had a good run and produced some amazing mods over the years. Honestly, I wonder if VI modding will ever be able to match it.

If that's the Case then there's probably hardly any Point looking on the Workshop for V any more. :-(

As for other modders, I can’t really say for certain. DMS just released his Ethiopia pack and I believe he still plans at least one more release. LastSword released an Egypt pack not long ago and I believe he is still actively working with V. JFD has tentatively said that he still plans to finish some of his old V mods; however, that was back when VI was first released and I don’t know if his plans have since changed. Most other big modders like Sukritact, More Civs, Leugi, Colonial Legacies have all moved on and aren’t planning anything.
Tomatekh  [author] 15 Aug, 2017 @ 5:43am
Unfortunately most modders have moved on to Civ VI. It’s understandable; after so many years they want to work with something new. Mods also take a lot of work and the audience for V is quickly shrinking.

I wasn’t sure if I was even ever going to release these two mods. However, I knew that a lot of people were looking forward to them and hated leaving them unreleased. So, after I was able to update my Great Spy mod, I went out of my way to try to get them out (and surprisingly was able to do so).

Hello, Tomatekh. Did you see my latest Comment on your Historical Religions Mod for Civilization VI?

If no then do you Know if any other Modders are planning to make new Civilization V Mods? I wonder how many more like this have been left unfinished.

Thanks for all you have done to improve Civ V play ... They have been fun to add and play. :Norse: :ok_abs:
Tomatekh  [author] 14 Aug, 2017 @ 2:19pm
These mods will also likely be the last mods that I release for Civ V. I hope everyone has enjoyed my work for the game over the past few years. Thanks for playing!
Tomatekh  [author] 14 Aug, 2017 @ 2:19pm
Hey, everyone! The Mississippi, Poverty Point, and the Great Spy were the last few Civ V mods I was working on when Civ VI was released. Although they’ve been available in some form on Civfanatics for a while, they remained largely unfinished thanks to Civ VI and a busier personal schedule.

However, I know a lot of people were looking forward to these mods – and I hated leaving them as they were – so I did the best I could to “finish” them and get them to a releasable state. Unfortunately, most of the top artists have already moved on to Civ VI. Because of this, the artwork is not exactly on the same level as my other mods. I hope this doesn’t stop anyone from enjoying these new civilizations and units. I put the same attention and work into them that I do with all my mods, and, personally, view them as having some of the most interesting abilities out of all the mods I have released.
