@BoldlyBuilding are you serious? seems like people are always doing touristy things around there. though that's where all the protests and demonstrations happen, so maybe they were on edge. usually when I go down there that complex is surrounded by a wall of cop cars

I was in Chicago taking photos of the famous "Flamingo" sculpture in a public square which had a couple federal buildings adjacent to it, and a cop or guard came over, questioned what I was taking photos of, and told me to leave or else they might see me and hold me for questioning, and escorted me off the premises. I bet that happens all the time around this building, too.

I actually know the perfect place for this - on most definitely not government-owned land, with absolutely zero federal security clearance (you should most certainly, unquestionably, 100% not test that claim) in a totally civilian and regular commercial district that is definitely not a government office complex. That avenue is from network extensions. What they did, from what I can tell, is used the small 4 lane one way road and made it to look like a massive avenue.
