Not very plausible, but lots of fun anyway. I love the moon! But diesels would never be allowed in the tunnel, and there's no freight traffic on the Northeast Corridor, just Amtrak and, at this point, NJ Transit. There are a few exceptions -- short local freights serving online customers very late at night -- but not in Newark Penn Station at rush hour.

Firstly, I ran your senario several times and I came up with INCOMPLETE each time. Said I may have missed a stop. I knew I didn't! Understand, I've been in the habit of saving the senario often through the run. I decided to NOT SAVE the senario and see what would happen. Of course, the senario COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY! SO, as a warning to others, DON'T SAVE as you run the senario as there is a GLITCH in the games programming! Secondly, I liked the senario each of the times I ran it. Good work!! Quick fun....

Thanks for the info, BNSF_Guy! I wasn't aware that this loco wasn't referred to as the Zephyr, since that's how it's marketed on Steam. This was my very first scenario, and admittedly, my enjoyment of trains goes back to childhood train sets, and not from any knowledge of real-world operations, so I was 'learning the ropes' so to speak, on working with the editor, and figuring out how to use other assets that didn't ship with the route. In the end, I had fun playing it, and thought it was fun enough to share. :)

Overall, this is a pretty good scenario. But I do have to mention a few things. The first is that the Zephyr is the name of the Amtrak route and not the train. The cars are called Superliners. The second thing that I have to mention is that in real life, there isnt enough clearance in penn station for the Superliners to fit. Just thought i would mention that.

This is good scenario.Thanks

Hi gormaxy, that's the 'failed' message. That will get triggered if you missed a station (even if you backed up to pick the passengers up after passing it.) That's really the only way that message should get triggered. Try running it again, being sure to properly stop at each station, and please post back if you're certain the 'failed' message is being triggered inappropriately. I tested the scenario thoroughly, and the success and failed messages worked properly each time through testing. :) Good luck, and let me know your results if you try it again.

Thanks! That really means alot to me! I'm really enjoying making scenarios now that I've finally rolled up my sleeves and got into the editor, and so it really makes my day to know that someone has enjoyed themselves playing the ones I've made. It makes all the time creating and testing well worth it! :)

I'll find out for ya. Give me some time though. I know a couple of experts at this. :)

I haven't figured out how to publish the an updated version to the workshop without unpublishing the original version. I've just gotten started with scenario creation and the Steam workshop, and only saw an option to unpublish, but haven't seen how to update a scenario that's already been published on the workshop. How do I publish an update to make sure that folks that have already downloaded won't have to manually download it again?

I was under the immpression you just updated the original. I didn't know that you "Unpublished" it. That's an entirely different matter if you created it separately from the original. Most just add to their orginal version so people don't have to re-download a new one, and remain up to date.
GeorgeT93  [author] 4 Dec, 2012 @ 6:10pm
Thanks for the info, Bob360, I wasn't sure since it seems I have to unpublish the old one before uploading the new version, so I wasn't sure if it would automatically update for folks or not. :)

No worries, George. If they got the old one, and stayed subscribed after you updated, it will auto-update when you play the game. Just a little tip. :)

I renamed this scenario to include the version number, and listed the changes in the description. If you downloaded the scenario prior to December 1, 2012 at 4:22 PM EST, then you are running the old version and should update. If you downloaded after that date and time, then all I've changed is adding the version number, so you do not need to redownload it.
