Hallo hadece,
sehr schönes Gebäude! :) Planst du eine Reihe davon zu machen? Dann könnte man es als Destrict Style nehmen :)

It should be automatically activated. Since it is a LV3 building, it will automatically appear on a 2x2, 2x3 or 2x4 field marked for residental high (dark green) as soon as you meet the requirements for that Level. It appears random, so depending on how many LV3 Buildings you use in your game, it may take a while.

Beside that there is a MOD called "Plop the Growables" wich lets you place it directly:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=924884948&searchtext=

"Find it" works similar: You can search for the name and place it on a 2x2 dark green area.

Lost_Gecko mentioned that the MOD "RICO" is as well able to plop growables directly.

I'm new to Cities Skylines. How does this work? Do I need a mod to get the building to show up in game? or will it randomly appear when I lay residential tiles?

Just want to add all mods :)
hadece  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 8:54am
@Keiser
They are added. If you want to replace the vanilla assets you have to disable them with the MOD "Building Themes"
「Sk™」 29 Aug, 2017 @ 8:33am
Do mods in C:S just replace old assets or do they add new?
Húskarlar 23 Aug, 2017 @ 4:28pm
This is beautiful! I would love to see a whole collection of buildings similar to this :)
hadece  [author] 22 Aug, 2017 @ 3:17pm
@netfed3 that'd be great. We have a serious lack of scandinavian buildings. And with a high res photo you have not only all textures, but also half of the building plan. In the beginning it's quite time consuming, but we have alot of great guides for assets so at least you won't be stuck.
netfed3 22 Aug, 2017 @ 3:01pm
Thanks. Love the building. I guess you made an authentic model from where you live. I wonder then if I could make my own as well, maybe from a photograph from the streets of Oslo?:-)

Ambient, that building. How can I use it inside the game?
Aziroshin 21 Aug, 2017 @ 2:25am
@RobTox : I grew up in Bern and still live there (Go look at pictures, and you'll understand why it's relevant to the discussion). I am very much in favour to the idea of having much, much more architecture akin to what we produced from the late medieval times up to the very early 20. century. Though, I have to admit that I am not hostile to the finer examples of modern architecture as well, for as long as it's put in its own places and isn't mixed with older buildings (there are some intriguing skylines around the world).

What I absolutely cannot stand are those concrete monsters we love putting everywhere these days. Architecturally speaking, they are little more than the modern instance of a glorified hovel.
RobTox 20 Aug, 2017 @ 9:38am
Lastly its very personel favour if you like old buildings or not, so for my part I wish that more cities in germany get back their pre-war shape while some might wish that all european cities should get skylines like in america or asia...
RobTox 20 Aug, 2017 @ 9:38am
dude1973, you might be right, in my eyes people miss and/or want those things the most they dont/cant have, so if you live in Paris which got not very destroyed you might not miss all those pre-war buildings and want something modern - probably I would feel the same if I would live in such an historical city like paris...
But I live in western germany, which is very historic in some kinds too, but most of the historic citycenters and -architecture got destroyed. Many was rebuild, but also a lot got again destroyed in the 50s-70s (for example for the subway-construction in cologne). So theres not that much "old structure" left and I (for myself) would like to see more homogen (old) citydistricts and not single classicistic houses between 70s Plattenbauten.

BloodyPenguin, @RobTox, sorry not to be 100% agree with you : in a architectural point of view, 50-70's are not that monstruous. Think about the amazing work of architects and designers like Mies Van Der Rohe, Eames, Auguste Perret in Le Havre (after WW2 massive destructions), Le Corbusier in Marseille, Oscar Niemyer in Brazilia, or Alvaar Alto... You may like or not, but they were genious and have completly re-designed post war cities.

Of course, it's a point of view, and I understand people who prefer baroque or 19th century style (I live in Paris, which is a museum city which needs improvement because Hausmann style buildings is quite boring when you get used to...)

But of course we have to tribute this wonderful building made by hadece (which will fit perfectly in my historical center of my european city)... Thank you for the amazing work (and thank you Bloody Penguin for the best mods ever !!!) : we may disagree about architecture, but we like to build anyway !
RobTox 20 Aug, 2017 @ 3:47am
@BloodyPenguin you're so right, its a shame. But missing money as hadece mentions would've been at least an excuse, but destructing more or less repaired landmarks in the 50s-60s (like the Anhalter Bahnhof in Berlin or Hamburg-Altona Bahnhof [station] or many more to mention) is in my eyes the biggest architectural crime they commited in that time...
And @hadece yes, what mostly gets build today isnt better and will in 30 years look like the buildings from the 60s and 70s nowadays look

With that in mind thank you hadece (and all the other asset-creators) for re-creating buildings like these, which give us all a chance to rebuild the old/former cities at least virtual :)
