Instead of having the numbers be skins, why not have the numbers actually be models? Pretty much all you have to do is as follows.
1) Make a small compartment where the numbers will be located.
2) Make the models of the lights with the right shapes and correct placements for where these hexagonal parts should be. (For extra realism, make a lit and unlit version for each. By default, the unlit should be the first to be seen. When the lit are called upon, they should overlap the unlit ones. Make sure those have an UnlitGeneric VMT to ensure they look like they are glowing without having shadows.) These should be controlled with bones or sliders for flexes with the corresponding numbers.
3) This can be similarly applied to the buttons, though maybe Material Overrides is easier for the buttons.
