@Ssipak

The mod is finely updated, works OK.

Thank you.

@domingo, great! The mod is updated and waiting for testing :)
domingo 10 Jun, 2022 @ 4:41am
I can test it.
Ssipak  [author] 7 Jun, 2022 @ 12:46am
It's been years since I last played SE. Needless to say, I'm quite surprised the mod still works. Unfortunately, I don't have the Warfare 2 DLC and buying it is not my intention any time soon.

However, I looked up the files that go with the vanilla game and found all the files I need to make the mod support the DLC. I won't be able to test the updated version myself though.

Warfare 2 battery fix required ;-)
Otherwise it still works.

Confirmed working in 1.196.

Doesn't work.
drmskr 9 Mar, 2019 @ 10:04pm
Yay, thanks much! Seems to be working on Dedicated.

Now if only Keen would fix the assemblers auto deconstruct so my (Recycler) works...
Ssipak  [author] 8 Mar, 2019 @ 9:52pm
Yep. It was a little bit tricky, but i did update this mod today. Tell me if it does not work properly.
drmskr 4 Mar, 2019 @ 11:30pm
Are you updating this to the new small batteries?
HadesDurin 25 Dec, 2018 @ 6:08am
as it turns out, it was an load order issue and this mod should be right in the top5 of loaded mods
HadesDurin 24 Dec, 2018 @ 6:44am
i switched back to the form,er mod load it first and it worlked, will switch it to this one and will see if it still works
Ssipak  [author] 24 Dec, 2018 @ 5:20am
Hello, HadesDurin. I tested world with this mod only today, it worked. It seems you've got a mod conflict. Maybe reordering or selective disabling of other mods will help you.
HadesDurin 21 Dec, 2018 @ 4:45pm
i tried this mod and i only got scrap back from batteries i grind down, anyone else has this problem too?
Javiervs 1 Jul, 2018 @ 9:52am
Hey, thanks for answering. I already tries changing the mod's loading order and it didn't seem to change anything in its behaviour, that's why I asked you. The thing is, many of the creators aren't really into modding anymore, just like yourself, so it would be great to have this mod modified so there's no need to go to every creator asking for compatibility. Maybe looking at the programmation of the grinder, the lines that are used to retrieve materials when grinding, you could find wich line tells the game to give you scrap metal when grinding batteries, and substitute it for discharged cells. If I'm not wrong, it shouldn't depend on other mods because older non-updated battery mods have the new behaviour, meaning that the creator didn't script that part into the mod.

I would do it myself because I have some knowledge about programming, but I have never done modding so I wouldn't know where to start :(
Anyway, thank you very much for your dedication!
Ssipak  [author] 23 Jun, 2018 @ 7:12pm
Well, this mod just overrides configuration files and introduces fake item type (uncharged battery cell). Maybe if you change order of mods this mod will change other mods behaviour :)
I would like to dive into mod dev as i did when i was creating this mod, but i do not have time now to my great regret.
And even if i had, it would demand a great effort, cause i should look into each mod that introduces non-standard battery block. It's much easier to ask other mod creators to implement same behaviour :)
Javiervs 21 Jun, 2018 @ 12:18pm
Hi! Thanks for updating the icon. Can this mod be modified so it applies the behaviour into other mods that add batteries to the game? Maybe it is possible to apply a rule that tells the game to retrieve discharged cells instead of power cells or scrap no matter what block it is. That way any block that contains power cells will retrieve discharged cells when grinded down.

Regards!

i mean, this mod makes more sense than vanilla... but it still doesnt make sense that you would loose charge just because you tore the battery apart and moved it..
drmskr 4 Jan, 2018 @ 2:48pm
@Tyo Atrosa, A charging block would still be another block. Just make an assembler set to dissassemble, use TIM to move the used power cells as well as tools, other things to it to be dissassembled. TIM will also keep power cells up to a min quantity with an assembler set to auto.

THe real question, is... What does this mod do other then replace the icon? All that is mentioned is the icon. Is it the same as the original mod but with replaced Icon? In which case, do starting batteries start with 10% power, or the vanilla 30%?
Tyo Atrosa 15 Oct, 2017 @ 4:28pm
is there any way we could get a battery charger block, that can convert discharged cells into regular ones without using the assembler? mainly so that i can reuse power cells on my small block vehicles without needing an assembler on hand all the time. maybe an alternate version of the battery that is fully charged when built but requires charged power cells to build instead, so we can keep a supply of hot-swappable batteries on hand for emergencies?

I was encountering a crash while using this in a save containing the original version after replacing it with this one. I'll attempt to provide the log, but for now I've switched my save back to the original.

https://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/34421/does-the-mass-of-a-battery-change-when-charged-discharged
I handle discharged and charged batteries and cells in the line of my employment, the difference is noticeable when There are as few as 5 discharged batteries(battery = collection of cells) versus charged. Anecdote, sure, but that's why I opened with a link to a science resource. Conservation of mass/energy states that there will be a difference between a charged and discharged cell.

The main focus of my question, however, was that in the linked/outdated version, discharged cells seemed to weigh significantly more than charged ever since the rebalance.

I think discharged having the exact same weight as charged is fine, but from all of the information available to me, there's actually a change in the mass of an object with potential energy versus the same object with less potential energy.
Ssipak  [author] 9 Oct, 2017 @ 3:24am
As i know, the batteries produce electricity due to chemical oxidation reaction, and are charged due to the reverse reaction under the action of current.
What is in battery remains in battery.
Battery can lose weight only if it leaks (if it damaged or poorly made). Mod does not take in account these cases.
Jeffman12 8 Oct, 2017 @ 9:18pm
Is the weight more reflective of vanilla power cells now too?

Ideally, realistically, they should weigh less.
NixFaux 1 Sep, 2017 @ 9:13pm
Ah ok i understand now looks good.

Added link to description.

Can you link the original, would like to know more about it.
