Looks like the problem is fixed. I can now climb ladders again in Community Edition (which is relief - this is one of the most practical mods).
Köbi  [author] 15 Apr, 2022 @ 6:35am
I have added peaceman as contributor and asked him to fix it. Or maybe he will create a quick new one that will work.
vicman79 14 Apr, 2022 @ 4:37pm
Kobi could you possibly update this or turn it over to like Peaceman or Equinox they are now part of new dev team this mod has been just a mainstay for a long time hard to believe it broke it is one of only a few It still loads and can be placed just cant climb it I am sure Peaceman would be happy to update if your not inclined or able thanks
Wardaddy 14 Apr, 2022 @ 9:27am
First thing I wrote on reddit about the Community Edition...and got downvoted for that. MECE is not even out for a week and it already broke mods from authors who abandoned ME (I don't blame you)
Köbi  [author] 9 Apr, 2022 @ 1:08pm
Idk. I havn't played ME in years. Would be sad if they broke it. (When they update one thing, they sadly usually brake ten other things.)

Why can I no longer climb the ladders?
Köbi  [author] 15 Feb, 2019 @ 11:59am
Nice!:lunar2019coolpig:

Hello! Did it update?
hawlk2004 15 Feb, 2019 @ 11:46am
0.8 is probably going to be out in 9 months are you talking about 0.7
pdhurley1978 15 Feb, 2019 @ 6:13am

CeasarHound 12 Nov, 2018 @ 1:53pm
this mod is THE most useful mod Ive ever had the pleasure to use. Thank you for your work! It makes mining, and building sooo much easier.
Bullethead 6 Jun, 2018 @ 5:27pm
Brilliant!
Violet 16 Apr, 2018 @ 2:34pm
Can this get an update to match the new plank textures?
Köbi  [author] 5 Jan, 2018 @ 7:31am
Oh and while I was at it I did a new variant. (My castle is big this time and putting up stuff is a pain.) So voila, we have another highly useful laddervariant 2 blocks high!
Köbi  [author] 5 Jan, 2018 @ 7:29am
So I tried and tested it, but could not find those problems. In creative, when you fly and not look into the direction of the stairs it feels like a wall and you will get stuck. Also sometimes you can "get stuck" a little when entering the stairs... But retrying with a slightly different angle or a little jump and it works again... Nothing I can do about that.

thx
and happy new year of modding ;)
Köbi  [author] 1 Jan, 2018 @ 4:23am
Well thats weird. I am gonna check it out.
Jezus 31 Dec, 2017 @ 10:22am
for some odd reason it seems to work in 3 directions only, the 4th being like a wall
also seems to be always the same direction that doesn't work
(only tested in creative mode)

but apart from that gret job ;)
Köbi  [author] 29 Dec, 2017 @ 1:51pm
Well. Stuff happens:) Picking them up and replacing them should also solve most issues. And to place them the easiest try it from the top. (Trough a trapdoor for example.) Just a sidenote.
amoloch 29 Dec, 2017 @ 1:30pm
Ok, now it worked. The only thing i did was decorate the first floor, aka wait. So if anybody has this problem perhaps you should wait for it to fix itself.
amoloch 29 Dec, 2017 @ 1:18pm
Hey bro, love your mod. But in one of my building I can't go up the stairs! I can place it, but when i walk towards it, it acts like a wall. It's still working in the rest of my builds. You think you could help me?
Tranquil 26 Dec, 2017 @ 2:45am
Yeeessss :D
danielvomdorf 1 Dec, 2017 @ 6:12am
you saved my life with this ladder, it is the only one fitting propper =)
mahiahtree 24 Nov, 2017 @ 10:12pm
These work perfectly in my small round towers. I love them! Thank you!
Köbi  [author] 2 Nov, 2017 @ 1:07pm
Thanks. If I remember it I will tune in!
Skallabjorn 2 Nov, 2017 @ 12:45pm
I will be highlighting this super usefull and should be vanila to the game item in my weekly live ME game stream on the 4th ( this Saturday )
Köbi  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 12:30pm
Hello tmdart. Yes indeed. You can imagine the stairs as a 5x5x10 wide miniblock. This means the placing point will be exactly in the middle on the 3 miniblock in front. I placed a timber on the stairs in the middle at the toprow, placed the next stairs, and deleted it later.
CapitanDart 3 Oct, 2017 @ 11:19am
There is a screen shot of these stacked up on top of each other. Is there some trick to doing this that I don't know? I am assuming that there was a wall or something placed down to aim off of and it was deleted for the screenshot. I am rather new to ME although I have played Keen's other game SE for years.
TheBoot 23 Sep, 2017 @ 5:44pm
Big thumbs up. Great for wooden trapdoors and areas with tight access. Well done!
Krahazik 31 Aug, 2017 @ 9:32pm
Excellent item. Especially works well with the trap door for making an attick or cller access unlike the standard wooden stairs.
KomradBjonk 31 Aug, 2017 @ 2:00pm
sweet
Köbi  [author] 31 Aug, 2017 @ 1:10pm
Yes. And it's invisible collisionbox is a ramp. No steps. It should even work for wheels with no problems, if you want to have a steep ramp for a cablecar.
KomradBjonk 31 Aug, 2017 @ 12:57pm
u can climb it with no problem right?
EmotionallyBroken 31 Aug, 2017 @ 10:51am
That would look perfect on a wooden ship now that you mention it.
Köbi  [author] 30 Aug, 2017 @ 4:18pm
I think in a modern context you would call it a "Ships-Ladder". And it would have round slits in the middle of the steps to grab on to. As soon as we can build ships and have water I will rename it and add slits. :)
EmotionallyBroken 30 Aug, 2017 @ 4:05pm
Its "that" kind of stairs, is it a ladder? or is it stairs? : )
Darius Sanguna 30 Aug, 2017 @ 1:21am
thanks :D
Köbi  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 2:27pm
No problem. I set it free. Medieval Engineers can handle a little more fiddeling. :)
Darius Sanguna 29 Aug, 2017 @ 2:23pm
well i put one on a rotor and one on a catch block in order to aim since both are permanent armament for my castle so it might be the case that i started the grid sideways considering that the devs probably intended these blocks to be placed on a vertical surface instead of a horizontal one
Köbi  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 1:36pm
I think you may have started your dynamic grid (trebuchet) sideways. :) Anyways the stairs are now rotatable in any directions. So it should not be a problem anymore. Let me know if I messed up anything. And thanks for the feedback.
Köbi  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 1:26pm
Oh what? That sounds bad indeed. I will set it free then.
Darius Sanguna 29 Aug, 2017 @ 1:24pm
well if i try to place it on a small grid (trebuchet) i can only rotate it around the up/down (relative to the model) axis, which is pretty annoying considering that it lays on its side
Köbi  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 10:56am
Free rotation when it is in the air works. But I disabled flipping it on the upside down axel. So it is easier to place. Do you want to place it upside down? I can allow it, but I dont see how that would benefit us?
Darius Sanguna 29 Aug, 2017 @ 10:42am
maybe you want to add free rotation to it or if its already included it doesn't work for me
Köbi  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 10:36am
No. Not at all. I dont play creative. It is fully survival :)
Bogus 29 Aug, 2017 @ 10:31am
is the mod only for creative ?
Köbi  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 8:11am
Thanks guys! I admit I totally forgot about that IvyMike. :) Thanks for pointing it out.
