Like the spores attach to the NPCs and can have a symbiosis genome in them too.

These are fantastic, I love them, but could there perhaps be a setting for their damage? Since they multiply so heavily, each and every single one killing you instantly feels overkill, I'd like to make them do like ten damage each or something

I've definitely seen issues with fungus refusing to replicate before. I'll see if I can fix this up!

if anyone's looking to rewrite a classic this'd be the bomb, it seems after cleaning up, new fungi are unable to replicate, maybe it's losing track of how many there are? no console errors or anything helpful sadly :p

I remember a mod just like this one, but there was only one type of fungi and it would grow in size over time and even evolve like grow a turret that shoots nearby players (turret was made from a portal gun)
Or is it this one?

and also yeah, the fungus tend to die out after they spread, which kinda ruins it

After I tinkered with the console commands for the fungi and using the tool, they instantly spawned a ton of them and the growing of them stopped completely shortly after. They never spread and they only just disappear. What's going on?

for some reason the fungus wont reproduce even when i spawn a bunch, maybe i need different console commands cus i messed with them. i used this addon alot but that was a really long time ago and now it doesnt work :(

Cant get over the fact a possible reference to this mod is in Minecraft Dungeons. The blast fungus there look and sound similar to the bug bait.

For some reason, when fungus amount reaches 500, it won't breed, that's normal due to the limit, but after I do server clean up, fungus still cannot breed, like they reached the limit. Even resetting by the tool doesn't help. Can you please fix this, if it can be?

i though almost the same thing i though that the model will be replace with the common zombie model (without the headcrab) lowers the orginal host health to 50% of their orginal health but when the infected dies it will puke up from 3 to 10 new infection spores

I kind of want an infection fungus that makes it so NPC's will try and go near other NPC's and players, effectively hijacking them like some real world fungus does. well, the real world one I KNOW makes its host go as high as it can, so the spores spread far.

but I kinda want one that makes NPC's instead of shoot you or others, go near others, in an attempt to spread more of itself.

basically the infection fungus, but it hijacks the NPC(obviously it'd probably be only vanilla) I think its possible, but I don't know how.


I figured it was an interesting idea based off of a real life fungus that takes over ants and other insects, to try and spread itself. lol.

V If you mean the thing where they just stop spreading at one point, yeah, I think I got that too this session, didnt know it was from the removing via the Blastfungus remove thing, wondered why balloon fungus never shot out spores anymore...

I've found that when trying to clear all blastfungus using the reload key in multiplayer, it will get rid of them all as stated, but any blastfungus from that point forward don't really work OwO They can be destroyed without exploding and never spread, eventually reaching the end of their life and poofing out of existence, I'll have to remember to just clean them up manually but I hope this is an easy fix OwO
Below is the error that pops up when trying to remove fungus, happens not just with rope from a little testing and will come up many times, once for each fungus entity with the #68 being replaced with what I assume is the entity ID of each one. Hope this helps in solving the issue, other than this one thing in multiplayer it works great :3

this addon is tons of fun, however I haven't used it for a long time because of the immense lag having too many fungi caused as they spread quickly. I was going to suggest a max fungi slider on the tool but just in case I checked the "Two console commands that will solve alot of problems." thread and found that there was a command that did exactly what I was looking for! Now I can finally use this addon to wreak the havoc it deserves >:3 I look forward to seeing more variants and adaptations to this addon over time, good job uwu

Good to know. I have an idea for that spare time. Would be, and part my massachussets words. Wicked awsome. Corpse Fungus. It has trouble growing in any area. But grows very well on Ragdolls. It has tendrils that grow through bloodstream and muscles. (Now I sound like a mycologist). To simplify (I dont even understand what I am saying now) if it grows on headcrab ragdoll/ dead body. When a certain number of fungal spores grow on it, it spawns a headcrab.
Combine soldier=Zombine.
Any other Human=Zombie
Antlion=Antlion
headcrab=what ever headcrab it grew on (normal,fast,poison)
fast zombie=fast zombie
poision=poison
When the reanimated creature is killed, the body could (I dont care if it does, but it would be cool) spawn the ragdoll (the corpse) with 2 or more Corpse fungus on it. This make a huge problem with having to treat dead bodies to make sure no fungus on it, then store it in a room to avoid it.
It pretty much makes its own gamemode at that point.

@Leiutenant Coffee: Evolving Fungus isn't currently in the mod - it's something I've been working on for a future update, once I have some more spare time again. The idea is that basically the properties of the fungus (its colour, how fast it spawns, etc) will be controlled with a genetic simulation - that is, the fungus will have virtual DNA that can change and mutate when the fungus breeds, allowing different species to evolve naturally over time.

Can you make a fire spreading fungus that spreads fire when exploded and has very slow growing rate. The very slow growing rate is just so it doesn't lag the server with fire or be too OP.

@Kittyrat - evolving fungus is something I'm working on at the moment! Ideally, it's going to be a kind of fungus that actually has a DNA sequence that affects its behaviour. Currently, it has the DNA sequence, but it's doing the same thing as the colour fungus right now. Not sure when it'll be done, since I only work on this in my spare time, but there y'go!
