I dunno about these wonders that are essentially pantheon beliefs. I think it's a little odd and probably imbalanced if stacked with the same pantheon or a complementing one. idk.

Well yeah, all of the other ones require you to have a technology unlocked before building them; this one doesn't.

@Pouakai, query re assigning a Technology ? Do your other Wonders in general have Techs assigned ? If so, that could be the distinction as none of the others [I've done almost all at one time or another] have this problem.

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood.

It could be an issue with not having a technology, since I have the wonder as not requiring anything as opposed to requiring Agriculture. But the Scout and Warrior are the same, and they seem to be related to the Ancient era just fine. Either way, adding in Agriculture as a prereq tech should solve the issue for you

@Pouakai, It is not an incompatibility with the PE mod that's the problem. Gobekli Tepe [GT] is not recognized as "ancient" in any mod combination I have tried. I try to build GT as often as possible for its early Faith benefits. However, whenever I am able to gain the "Monument to the Gods" Belief before building GT, I never get the 15% Production bonus.

My reference to Apshai's mod was not due to any incompatibility, but rather to point out that someone has figured out how to make "Pre-Ancient" Wonders that are recognized by Civ V as being "Ancient" without crashing the game. It IS an issue with your mod.

While I try my best to ensure compatibility with mods, I'm not going to go out of my way to do so, epecially something as large as a Prehistoric Era mod. If the author of that mod wishes to ensure compaibity then he is more than welcome to do so, but the issue is not one with my mod.

@Pouakai, btw using "Agriculture" as the hook for determining "Ancientism" would not work in cases where game-start is set prior to the "Ancient" Era {i.e., before Agriculture can be discovered}.

@Pouakai, Revisting the issue of whether Gobekli Tepe qualifies as "Ancient" or not, I recently played the updated "Prehistoric Era" mod by Apshai. Apshai seems to have been able to overcome the problem of having Wonders that predate the "Ancient Era".

The issue centers on the Pantheon Belief "Monument to the Gods" which applies a 15% production bonus to only "Ancient & Classical" Wonders . In Apshai's "Prehistoric Era" mod, this Belief worked for the Chieftain's Hut, Wunderwerk Cave, Theopetra Cave, Skara Brae and the Palace, all Wonders that may be constructed prior to the "Ancient" Era .
However, this was NOT true for Gobekli Tepe. ??

Should not this discrepancy be corrected ?? Certainly Gobekli Tepe must qualify as an "Ancient" Wonder !

Please add a requirement that stone or marble be claimed by the city. Troll AIs like Russia build it even though Stonehenge is available.

There are a lot of prehistory wonders, if a person is interested in this stuff, and still people look for 'missing' link between past and present. It just keeps going back and back and back. Why not make a prehistory game version mod, because as far as establishment history goes, pottery is the only accomplishment pre historic people achieved.

@Pouakai, don't know enough about how these mods work/interact to judge. If it would adversely affect other mods [not sure what that would be] this is not worthy of a major effort. But I do not understand why there would be ANY prerequisite necessary to qualify as "ancient". It seems to me that any "wonder" created prior to the "classical" era prerequisite [whatever that may be] should qualify.
There's a "Prehistory" mod that has a couple of wonders that may have the same problem. However, I'm not sure it's possible to get any religion established that early in the game.

I could probably set the prereq tech as being Agriculture, which would make it an ancient (and not pre-ancient) wonder. Would still be available from the start but would have more issues with other mods. What do you reckon?

@Pouakai, noted in recent games that the Religion belief Monuments Construction 15% production bonus [for "Ancient" & "Classical" wonders] is not applied to Gobekli Tepe. Surely it must qualify as at least ancient. Must be missing some trigger in the code??
Had not noticed this earlier as I finished GT prior to that Belief. But I got that social policy unusually early in last 2 games. Don't know whether there are others of your wonderful wonders with that glitch but I'll try some as I am able in future games.

you mean make it depend on if the person has a dlc like a wonders pack? most true fans of civ5 have all the dlc like myself and i will be all over brave new world when it comes out to so i say you should def do that shit man! it would be worth it big time bro!! do what ever you got to to get your 3D model out their becouse with out it to be honest its just a half done mod

We can do them by adding the art to the DLC file, but it just doesn't work with mods.

away from the made up wonder and in the end just dont look or feal rite with out the bling outside your city to show off your new toy lol!! its like a half done mod for real man so you should realy get the skills going if you wana do it rite

Well Steles are unique to Ethiopia, so that's an unfair comparison. Shrines give +1 faith for 40 hammers and typically a Wonder gives diminishing returns - this forces the player to consider opportunity costs, especially in the early game.

Gobekli Tepe is designed to be a universal religion starter built in the capital early on, so it needs to have a large enough boost to make this possible even if the capital has no Stone or Marble. Otherwise it's pretty much a Stele in those cases

A good alternate route for those looking for an early religion boost - might be a bit too powerful since it's 3 +2/stone, marble. Maybe tweak the base boost down to 2?
