I have to wonder if this is a bugfix or just a change. Did Firaxis actually intend to remove the cinematic camera from rapid fire and chain shot? Does anyone know?

Is this compatible with the "Rapid Fire Reverted" mod, which re-buffs rapid fire to pre WOTC strength? Either way, great stuff!

That´s the edited camera.ini... after 2 ours it seems it´s working fine. I edited also the dash camera with greater distance... You can do what ever you want with it. Thank you for your mod by the way

Ok. So they are ok. Because I am tweaking it for myself. I just want to add there ocassional "over the shoulder" view when aliens arevshooting at xcom soldiers.

There's some very similar entries, but no identical entries.It's the pain of the camera types being defined as "private" in the script, so I can't just create the variants on the fly (which would be nicer!)

@Alastair: there's an update coming soon, hopefully in a few hours, for Akimbo, if you don't want/know how to make the .ini changes yourself. That isn't the only change in that update obvously.

Well, I sort of do, you may notice I have a credit on that mod with working on the visualizations, but that was after it's release.... Anyway, if you look in the XComGame.ini of Akimbo, comment out the rapid fire/chain shot/banish (aka soulreaper) entries.

For some reason having this mod installed causes the game to softlock on the second shot of rapid fire and chain shot, but not banish. Not sure why removing it fixes it. As far as I can tell there isn't any incompatability or other mods changing either of those abilities,

.ini changes aren't inherently incompatible (it's not like overrides). My change are for the "cinematic lost" elements I added to my Mod. My PCs been out of action for a couple of days! I'll send you a steam friend request so we look into it.

In the unmodded game, when the second shot fires, it shows "Rapid Fire", "Chain Shot" or "Banish" in a fyover by the shooter. SHOW_ACTIVATION=FALSE turns that off.

lol, you could just not use repeaters on Reapers! At least you (probably) got a nice camera angle on the kill you wouldn't have got without this mod.

I subscribed to this mod primarily for Banish. Wouldn't you know it, the few times I used that ability the enemy was executed on the first or second shot. Every time! I think I need to subscribe to that better weapon mods mod...

No, in WotC, Killzone doesn't show every shot, only the first couple two shots, then it fast forward.

Faceoff is mechanically quite different. With the above 3 abilities, the extra shots are technically sperate abilities triggered by the previous shot, so it's relatively easy to ask them nicely to use the normal single shot camera. Faceoffs shots are all part of the single ability, so if you just hook up the single shot camera, it works for the first "primary" target shot but not after that. Requires a lot more work basically!
Not sure what you expect from killzone? Each shot gets the standard overwatch/reaction shot camera work, and the revampled visualization system in WotC is way less likely to bug out then in vanilla (ie, apparently freezing for a few seconds, giving up and skipping to the end).

This mod does the same for Banish, under the hood Banish is quite similar to rapid fire/chain shot (which timeselves are nigh on identical to each other), so it was trivial to include it as well. Banish is much more likely to be fired from concealment/shadow though, and the "oops, I've been revealed" stuff usually triggers in between the shots, and the camera tends to remain in overhead after that. That affects rapid fire/chain shot as well, but they are often fired when already revealed so it doesn't matter as much. I might dig more into the mysteries of the camera stack to see if anything can be done about that, we'll see.

@ Mr. Nice This is off the topic of this mod, but is there any way to make WotC dual strike attacks have both soldiers take their shots at the exact same time? I just think it would look cooler than watching the first animation then the next.

Well, you could already do that with the psiop Inspire! I imagine they considered it needed a balance mod beyond just bond abuse, since even just a 1 turn cooldown would stop multiple uses in the same turn.

Also, @Hazard, rapid fire needs a cooldown because WotC added bonds which give you extra moves. Imagine rapid firing 3 times on one turn!

Ever thought they added that nerf for a reason? What seems lame to me is saying "something got nerfed remove nerf plx" because then you may just as well say "make all my soldiers have 100% to hit always plx". Just play it as is before you judge, soldiers are a LOT stronger now with all the new stuff.
