I have a problem. My officers don't know how to fire pistols. That is, they can get up in combat readiness, but the "pistol shot" is simply absent. Maybe it's because I turned on the game without Primary Pistols? How to fix it?

hi is there anyway i can edit the ini files to change the name of the class, i installed two mods with the name of officer, if i pick the other i cant pick this and vice versa

Exist a form to rebranch this class with 3 diferents ability trees
1° focus on the mark skill giving things like extra crit chance o more damage (like holo target skill work) and area buff
2° focus on pistol and covering his companion: basic stuff like faceoff o free pistol shot and something like you take a pistol shot against a enemy attacking your crew (1 time per turn)
3° focus more on a defensive mele take like bladestorm or a melee only parry

I'm using it with GTS-only trainable classes mod and it works, but the only way to get the class is to train a rookie in the GTS

How to i get the officer class to show . I got the gorilla training school went to train someone other classes show but no officer. I have samuri , akimbo, special op's classes added plus the standard classes. I am using your alternative officer class with required mods. any help would be great

This mod requires GTS-only trainable classes mod which THIS mod conflict with the Xylith's GTS. Perhaps drop GTS-only as a prerq?

I used a temporary workaround by setting +NumInForcedDeck=1. It sucks I have to do this, but it'll work for now.

For some reason, even though I have no Officers, I can't train an Officer from a Rookie. Was this recently changed?
- Can only be recruited via the GTS unless you have no Officer's at all.
I remember this working before, and I have the required mods.

The class is not designed to use 2 primary pistols hence your encounter of trying to do that. Yes you can change and tweak settings with the .ini to allow although bare in mind the skills for the weapon are not suited for that use so might be a bit off or unbalanced.

I got it to work and by god it is everything I have ever dreamed of thank you so much for this Mister Kouassi I just charged sword in hand a behemoth queen with my officer and the bloody madlad even survived while being a great distraction loads of fun I cannot thank you enough

This is XCOM, very particular when it comes to mods and their setups. It may not seem like an issue but certainly this is designed to be olayed without any overhaul mods that affect classes for example.

I currently play using my mod list which contains in excess of 300 mods, no issues.

All about tweaking and finding out what you can use and can't :p the joys and no problem 👍🏾

The mod definitely works from the last time I played. In what way does it "simply does not" work?

In relation to the skulljack, I am not aware of that however I believe that may be a conflict or because this is a custom class. I will look into that in future in the event it is something of a larger issue with the class itself.

@LieutenantA.Kouassi The game crashed when I tried to use the skulljack on a codex at a facility with my officer. I checked my files in Steam and found no issues but the error still happened. When I switched the skulljack to a different soldier, a reaper, the skulljack went through no problem. I know there were some problems with mec units using the skulljack in the past. I use quite a few mods but the only class mods I am using are the Proficiency Class Ones and the Psionic Class. I will equip the officer with the skulljack on a future mission and see if the same thing happens.

I cant Train officers in GTS, does anyone have tips what can fix it? Its the only class mod I have installed so I have no idea.

EDIT: Had to start my campaign over due to some issues with the game itself, (Had to reinstall, keep verifying file integrity, etc.) The officer class is now playable with my LW2 class overhaul, psionic class overhaul, and the Akimbo class!! I forgot modding 101 of XCOM 2, if you install class mods mid-playthrough, they won't show up for the rest of it until you start a new playthrough. :steamfacepalm:

Okay, thanks for the clarification, I've seen the mod in action with Overenglishman using it. Would be incredible if it was compatible for a crazy amount of variation. Would've been a big help to have that in the info tab, but hey, at least I can choose snipers now lol, even if it's confusing lol Thanks for the mod :steamhappy:

This is not designed to be built for LW2 and because it is an overhaul mod, it will most likely change the way in which my class functions in base game unfortunately. I have yet to enable any LW2 adapted features afraid.

Hey, just tried out your mod, one thing I noticed while using the LW2 class mod with this one, it brought back the vanilla classes, but also created duplicate classes that only varied by description. For example, one Marksman says, "For the occasional close encounter," in the description, while another Marksman class (with the same class icon,) says, "The marksman specializes in long range combat," which is the LW2 variant that swaps out the pistol for a holo-targeter. Even in the GTS the officer class is nowhere to be seen sadly. :steamsad:

It's not showing up in GTS for training. But when I go into my character pool, I choose "HQ" which looks like the officer class. But besides that, I use: Choose My Class, Use My Class, and Disable Any Class. Along with Codex UI which changes the name of classes to Warhammer 40K class names. Don't know if that's effecting it.

@Zapp - Yes it could be due to your mod list and compatibility with others. I use a version alternative version of commander's choice that allows you to select 3 classes randomly chosen. (cannot remember mod off top of my head) and it works as intended.

As for GTS. Yes if you build it, it should add the class to the list of classes you can force train a rookie to :)

@Kouassi Works as intended as far as I can tell, the issue wasn't because of your mod, but rather with another overwriting the way promotions are done. Would a compatibility patch be nice? Always! But don't think you should stress over it at all. Can also confirm that building the GTS let me promote an officer. Thanks again.

@Zapp - So the way it works unfortunately with the commanders choice mod. The class has to be within the GTS recruitment capability to show randomly for it to allow you to select the class that way.

It is currently setup to work that if you have no officer's at all. The game should give you 1 following a random roll when a rookie is promoted. Alternatively, just leave whatever character you want to be an officer until you have the GTS and train them through the menu.

If I had a bit more time, I would probably make my own code so that the class expands optionally as an additional extension to a high tier character or simply that they can be promoted through different means.

Hope that makes sense. (Hopefully can improve something in future for it as I do not really want it to revert to vanilla where it could give you it like a normal class and you could end up with like 10 officers or something ludicrous).

Do I need to build the GTS before I can get my first officer? I don't seem to have the option to choose the officer class with Commander's Choice installed (I thought I could pick the officer class if we had no officers recruited)
