Are these guys noramal enemy?
They spawn from beginning of game.
They shoot from supar far, super high accuracy, even shoot and overwatch after moving.
Of course, high damage.
WTF is 7 damage in early game???

Granted, it can be easily tweaked, but I'm not sure why you would choose to give a long range unit more health than the standard ADVENT trooper.

the avent snipers you get from resistance orders are always tier 1 snipers even when you reached late game, anyone know how to fix it?

Oh, maybe CI needs a bridge mod to make the rifles single build. I forgot about that as I've set these up to drop Trooper corpses

alright I researched the sniper corpse and it didn't give me the harbinger rifle for some reason. I'm not sure if it's because of covert infiltration, weapon and item's overhaul or what have you.

Eh I like this mod but the Sniper rifle research and items it adds I find redundant. It adds unnecessary clutter to the items and loadout tabs when you already have other mods that add more interesting weapons. The unit itself is awesome and very tweakable in the files but I think I like the Advent Hunter mod a little better.

I love the new enemy type this mod introduces but the Harbinger Rifle disappears for me. Not a big deal as I wanted the enemy type more than the weapon but it'd be great to have a fix. :)

since iv substetuded the apropriate info in il know for sure when one of them shows up in a retaliation or an avenger defence.
shame since a retaliation literaly just happend in my playthrough
so ima gonna have to w8 a while

i think i fixed it
correct me if im wrong but did the broken version have them listed as units 6 (3 leaders and 3 followers) times on normal missions
instead of 2 (1 leader and 1 follower) time for normal missions, 2 (1 leader and 1 follower) time for retaliaions, and 2 (1 leader and 1 follower) time for the avenger defence

just curious to get a better understanding on how encounter lists work

what does the fix do
(im not that familier with the encounterlist ini file so im not sure if i can manualy fix it myself so unless the problem is very large il probly just have to live with it)

Hey, there's some more typos in XComEncounterLists.ini, the wrong SpawnDistributionLists are used, leading to the Sniper being added (again) to ADVENT lists rather than what it's supposed to be.

They're added to "AdventLeaders" again, not "TerrorLeaders"

Similarly, "AdventFollowers", not "TerrorFollowers"

Added again to "AdventLeaders", not "AvengerDefenseRNFLeaders"

And "AdventFollowers", not "AvengerDefenseRNFFollowers"

You would need to edit the image in yourself using the mod tools (Which are in of itself a hefty download if all you want to do is that one changes)

as far as the UI image, I think the Darklance is a slightly closer match than the Plasma Lance. any idea how that change could be made?

Just spotted what I think is a typo in XComEncounterLists.ini

SpawnDistributionLists=(ListID="NoHardCCUnits_Leaders", \\

That line is missing the "+" which the others all have.

For those who have the rifle disappearing on you, or just want extra copies of the weapon try this console command


AddItem AdventSniperM1_XCOM 1
AddItem AdventSniperM2_XCOM 1
AddItem AdventSniperM3_XCOM 1

M1 to M3 is for the different tiers of the weapon so add whichever that you wish.

My harbinger rifle disappeared and turned into a regular mag sniper. Juding by some of the previous comments, this seems to be reaccuring problem. Any fix?

Yeah, the Harbinger rifle tends to disappear on a whim, so it would be great to have a patch or at least a console code to get a new one.

This is an excellent addition, really forces you to adapt your tactics in a whole new way. Delightfully (un)fair that ADVENT have a long range unit too. The first time I met this guy I didn't even know he was there until he opened fire from outside my vision. Had to move quickly but cautiously :)

If you're going to add only a few unit mods, this should be one of them

@Farkyrie, could you give me the console code to use the additem on the Harbinger?
I think mine disappeared when i used the "Make Weapons Avaliable" button on the squad selection menu and my Harbinger was used by a soldier on a covert mission.
When I noticed my savegame was long gone.
