Just set the B18 version public - this mod is not needed, neither is the original A17 version of Razzle Dazzle. Link is in the description.

If you wish to test the new B18 version (I think I've finished debugging it), let me know and I'll add you on Steam (it's uploaded, but marked friends only until it's tested more). Still working on it - aside from any bugs I've missed, just need to change all of the internal text to use external language files (so Proxyer can easily add his translations :steamhappy:)

As for the Performance skill, I personally wouldn't mind if you decided to remove it for compatibility issues, however I do think you should replace it with Social instead of Artistic. After all, the way it works in the game, Artistic is more of an individual job, whereas Social is the ability to be able to entertain a whole group of people. But then again, composing and playing music at the piano leans more on the Artistic side...
Maybe you could make it so pawns with high Social skill are better at stand-up comedy and theatre, and those who excel in Artistic make for better music players?

Using vanilla art skills as a performance skill is helpful for consistency and bug prevention, and I think that it is a good solution to prevent situations that do not fit in the skill table with EdB Prepare Carefully.

Well, I had a little time today..

Still need to test everything, but so far so good :) Once it all checks out, I'm going to rewrite some of the code to handle external translations for the remaining text (that's stored in the DLL). Also, opinions on removing the "Performance" skill, in favour of the default Artistic skill (which would make it more compatible, and cause less issues adding it to, or removing it from existing saves)?

It was one of sorrows that Bone did not have a wonderful Mod that pawn enjoyed and entertained with "Razzle Dazzle". This news became a good news for many users. I promise to make a corresponding Japanese translation as soon as possible after release. Thanks for the update!

I've gotta check the code changes, but I do plan on updating. With B18, this won't be needed though - I'll just rewrite the main code (I already have the source for Razzle Dazzle generated). I should have time to start updating it tomorrow.

The original author of Razzle Dazzle has seemingly abandoned his own mod(s), which is really a shame. I greatly enjoyed his mod, even more so when I found out this improved version. Are you going to keep it up to date, or is the whole project dead at this point? It would be really awesome to have this back in B18.

Fixed an error caused by Japanese translations I made. The cause of the problem was that I added a Japanese translation on Plus side, also the part (ThingDef) already translated by "[Sub-MOD] Razzle Dazzle add Japanese Translation" Mod which I created. @ thebigstickihityouwith Check the required mod listed at the right. This is a mod for a mod basically. The original had a huge antenna, and crashed when loaded with some other mods. This changes the antenna, fixes the crash, and adds new related recipes.

I have uploaded a new version - the crash related to loading Razzle Dazzle! and Miniaturisation together is now fixed (I had tried replacing it before, but it failed... I'm now using the A16 patching system, and it works).

As for people not performing, I have yet to have that happen.. I have even tried pasting in the values people saw using the debug inspector, and they performed almost immediately (because of the long period of not performing..). So I'm not sure.

I actually have a new version of the main mod compiled, with this mod built in, the bug fix for Miniaturisation, and altered subscription payments so they don't smash your roof each time (lol). I'm just waiting for a bit to see if the creator responds (I've added on steam, commented on his mod page, commented on his forum thread, and PM'd him on the ludeon forums).

The only alternative, would be to edit your save and add the new skill to EVERY person (in case you get a random one to join you, that is already stored).. ie:

<li>
<def>Performance</def>
<level>0</level>
</li>

Which is what I originally did when I added it to my game (I just copy/pasted their Artistic skill, and changed the name to Performance).

Razzle Dazzle requires a new save, because it adds a new skill (Performance). If used on existing saves, it will generate errors on the work tab (stock, and modded work tabs) because of that. If I end up taking over the main mod, I may change it back to Artistic so that it can be easily added/removed from existing games.

As for the other music mod, it should work fine, but it will not be "broadcast" without added those instruments to the .dll (so no increase for subscription payments by using them).

also i got a question of this razzle is likely compatible with the new joy source playing music mod?? both adds piano, and that other mod has optional singing duet... the mod author said he tried to create it as close to vanilla as possible so that it would have less bugs/incompatabilities...


also, do i need a new campaign or its ok to add to an existing campaign??

thnx for taking the initiative on fixing this mod...

im subbing for this mod for now, but not activating it.. and gonna go with a wait and see approach to see if its good to go lol... my current campaign is i'd consider stable enough with the huge mods im currently using.. only problems im having at the moment is that zabraks lagging my game whenever my camera passes them and babies cry sounds randomly not working(from children and pregnancy mod)..


so reading between the lines, it seems that those who have minitiarization mod are the cause of why the colonists not performing due to the code you found... so those who don't have the mod maybe have razzle dazzle working fine..

For RazzleDazzle Mod, Mod has been created separately to add only Japanese translation as My Sub-MOD, but since the amount of translation part of RazzleDazzle+ is small, if possible, I want you to include the translation file in this Mod I think. If you do already have the broadcast tower, it is better to deconstruct it (to get the resources back), and then load this - so you save resources.

Thanks, it was my biggest issue too :) I'm trying to contact the creator of Razzle Dazzle so that I can update the main mod (to include the fixes to prevent crashing). I've already rebuilt the source code, and my new version is compatible with Miniaturisation, Psychology etc..

On the main mod comments I've included the XML changes so that people can fix the crashes themselves. My new DLL changes other things though: shows power on the broadcaster (like other electrical devices), and no longer punches holes through your roof for subscription payments.
