Just an update comment from a long-time user of this mod. It STILL WORKS.
I'm heavily modded, and as of the date of this post, this camera mod suits me fine. :steamhappy:

Anyone experienced white screen bug with this mod? I know the bug is caused by camera mods, seems like both Improved Camera or Free Camera Rotation mods are affected by it.

As of yesterday this mod has stopped working for me. I've done about 12 hours of troubleshooting, and with just the [WotC] Mod Config Menu and this mod installed it doesn't work anymore. I've tried both the alternative mod launcher and the built in launcher, and all other mods I regularly use work with both right now.

Frustratingly I don't think anything has changed for the game or the mods. If anyone has an idea (I assume it's still my side) I'd love to hear it, but am posting here in case it has generally stopped working somehow (which I still doubt). Any help would be fantastic, sorry to bother

I have 90ish mods and it took forever to figure out that this was the one causing white screen issues.

ULTIMATE MOD FIX:

*ALWAYS USE ALT MOD LAUNCHER*

1. Go to \Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config
2. Backup/delete all files in that folder.
3. Run modlauncher, select mods, then start game.
3. EXIT GAME; DO NOT LOAD ANY SAVEGAME. (needed for reinit of configs)
4. Run modlauncher/game and enjoy.


NB: this mod is 4 years old, so if it isn't working, that's why.

And of course nobody has a FIX for the problems. WTG FIRAXIS on screwing up a game that should have had free rotation camera from the start! :steamsalty::steamsalty:

很棒,视角转换只有30度了,而且支持手柄,但是有个问题就是手柄的左右方向键在你按下RT准备控制士兵的命令时,也会启动视角转动,这个问题要是能解决就好了。

I'm not sure why I would use this over the "free Camera Rotation" mod that is older (and still in top rated all time) but still works fine with WOTC etc. It allows you to set the analog setting in ini to "true" which allows a free turning ability instead of any mod that snaps to angles (even if they are 30 degrees or whatever). I cannot even play with angles snapping anymore-smooth turning is so much better. Does this mod allow for free turning? Otherwise besides the MCM support I don't get it.

Why this mod requires MCM? Both have the same ModClassOverride "ModClassOverrides=(BaseGameClass="XComTacticalInput". Is it safe to delete one of those? Game has that typical hiccup with both mods enabled.

Update: I'm now getting white screens. Game doesn't crash, I can continue, but it's all white.

This is with a fresh, clean verified game, no mods except this one. Although someone told me they had white screens before WotC, I've never gotten any ever, until this patch. I have no idea what files were modified, but I'm being told it's camera-altering-mods related. :(

@littleGreenFrog, It was a bit tedious, but basically unsubbed to all mods, deleted empty folders they leave behind, deleted MyGames config folder, verified game files, launched game modless once, quit (without loading or starting a campaign, to regenerate the config folder), relaunched the game with mods subbed, done. It's a pain in the ass, but that process is generally what I do whenever I start a new campaign. New patches generally shift things, so it's best to do that here too.

Just wanted to note, after the patch, the mod's effects don't seem to be working. I'm not crashing or anything, I'm just back to vanilla camera rotation. :( Hope you find the time to maybe inspect if the patch did something?

Just an update, it is 100% this mod that causes this issue. I tried disabling the mod and it stopped the problem. Any fix for this?

When I hit RT to go to action select for a soldier, then use the D-pad to move between my available actions, left and right on the D-pad not only does this, but rotates the camera at the same time. I'm sure you can imagine having to rotate the camera back after selecting every attack is annoying.

I started using a controller right after I started using this mod - is this a known conflict?

@Charmed and @Bosmun nope, tried to verify my cache (everything was good) and doing the hack didn't change anything still not aligned, also tried Bosum suggestion to change all 3 values no success either, indeed even after I installed the mod and activated it through the community launcher the default value for HumanTurnYaw remains set to 48.5 (instead of 30 as charmed said), it works if I leave everything at default with 48.5 on the ini file and 30 degree on MCM, but that's it, no other degrees seems to work for me

@twisted monkey 48.5 is the vanilla game's default value (no idea why they picked that), this mod should be changing it to 30 for the my documents config. Though, I might need to change how it does that, but it seems to work fine for most people.

@Charmed actually the XComCamera.ini hack didn't work for me, I put 45.1 into HumanTurnYaw (strange enough I found set at 48.5 as default), anyway I put back it to the default value of 48.5 degree and set your mod to 30 degree rotation and it's working aligned now.

I don't mind to have a bit more of control and have set it to 30 degree so it's cool thanks for the mod.

I just thought to share with you that the hack doesn't seem to work, at least for me...unless...you need to verify the cache of the game first and then doing the hack to the ini file...

..I will try that too tonight, but I don't think will change anything

note this isnt because of this MOD but i keep getting black screened where i cant see anything but the UI and its saying "Critical: Orientation Front vector invalid!" in the Debug box can any1 help me out with this?

@twisted monkey, it's the value HumanTurnYaw=30.1 in XComCamera, for 45 you'd set it to 45.1. I'm not really sure how it works, that's how the mod this was based on has it.

Probably I'm missing something here, but I've got the alignment\tile issue with 45 degree, you said "If the camera doesn't line up evenly with the tiles, you may need to change the XComCamera.ini to match your preferences (degrees + 0.1)" I opened the XComCamera.ini" I opened the file but I can't understand where to put that value, could you be more specific please? thanks

Love this mod,but I a little bug; the camea rotates when selecting abilities, but in vanilla this doesn't happen. Would a fix be possible? Thank you kindly.
