Yeah there's an oversight, throwing knives are set as utility slot items so reapers can't actually use them since they're forced to use normal ones and once you research the improved alloy ones and such they cannot equip them since they already are forced to use the normal ones.

These should be in the 2ndary slot type of weapons not as utility items or maybe find a workaround for Reapers to actually take advantage of these items.

yes thx, but what i meant was to use them as secondary weapon, not just in utility slot(i have knife category in class.ini assigned)

You have to research the captain for the throwing knives. For silent take down you have to activate it first, if i'm not mistaken.

Is it normal that when they use the knife at close range, they don't seem to hold it properly? o.o

overwatches, they'll throw the knife instead of shooting with the pistol and sometimes the main weapon too...good mod but it dosnt work right.

I'm not entirely sure what's causing this problem but when I purchase the Combat knife upgrade, ("Spec ops Alloy?") they cease to exist and are no longer selectable in the load-out. Furthermore, This problem occurs when upgrading Gremlin to Mk.2. So If I change a specialists second weapon slot, ALL Gremlins will disappear. Anybody know why this might be happening?

I have no idea why this is happening, but for some reason, when doing pistol overwatches, they'll throw the knife instead of shooting with the pistol

It works, in that the weapons show up and act right. Already has pre-integrated single-build config as well. Others report Silent Takedown doesn't work. Also awkwardly the option to set up for the LW2 combat knife category doesn't seem to work, so this remains a sword.

@Anakameron It's just "combatknife" for the weapon group name. 'SpecOpsKnife_CV', is the one used if you want to add it to a loadout

Does anyone know what the item names are? I want to be able to give them to specific classes through the Open Weapons config. I've tried SpecOpsKnife and it doesn't seem to work but it's the only line I see referenced relating to the knives in this mod's config files.

hello, can i have the console command to spawn in the knives? or atleast how to look for them? i accidentally bought plasma nives and now i cant get the lower tiered ones (i want to reskin them using xskin mod)

For some reason the detection radius did not disappear when activating silent takedown on my reaper.

have a questions hope someone could help out, inside of version history mentioned this mod added secondary throwing knives but I can't seems to find it anywhere or knowing how to add it in to the game using confi setting.

Something that would be nice is a second version of the Spec Ops Knife that made your soldier invisible whenever they're concealed, not just when using "Silent Takedown".

I say "a second version" because some would no doubt prefer the current way.

I can't find the combat knife in the armory. I tried what the FAQ told me to do and it's still not there, but I can see the throwing knife so I know the mod is working. Any tips or hints on how to fix this other than what the FAQ suggests?

Ran into a bit of an odd quirk with this mod just recently involving overwatch. I gave a throwing knife to my sniper so she'd have a better option than a pistol to use for short range attacks during an ambush. Works fine if she was actively using it on her turn, but for pistol overwatch, instead of using her pistol, it shows the throw grenade animation. I think the attack still used the pistol since it did not use a throwing knife charge but the animation was wrong. Didn't cause any issues, just kind of strange.

Very cool mod. I love having some decent options for a non Reaper soldier to remain concealed while still dealing some damage in missions. These knives, plus proximity mines make a nice combo for a sneaky squad.

Throwing Knife is too op and spec-ops knife is too weak.
So in my game, i changed the config's values to ones below:

(also increased spread by 1, cause you know... the damage should not be so "consistent" while you're trying to take someone out in melee and in secret.)
(also tried to decrease the range of throwing knifes so you can't throw the goddamn knifes like shooting a bullet. but for some reason it didn't work.)

KNIFE (Damage=4, Spread=2)
KNIFE_MG (Damage=5, Spread=2)
KNIFE_BM (Damage=6, Spread=2)
THROWING_KNIFE (Damage=3, Spread=2)
THROWING_KNIFE_MG (Damage=4, Spread=2)

This mod functions as a required component for the SpecOps class, which I appreciate, but be advised none of the additional perks identified in the ini/int files seem to work.

Question. I'm using the Chimera Squad Classes mod, and it has the Commando class. It's a stealthy melee class, and this item would be perfect for it. Problem is, they can only use CombatKnife type weapons, and it seems like these knives are categorized as swords.

I don't want to add swords to the commando as they aren't intended to use literally any melee weapon.

Is there a way to change these from swords to a combat knives? It would also work if there was a way to specifically add only these weapons to commando without allowing all other swords.

Does anyone know how to make this work with the "[WotC] UI - Colored Weapon Tiers" mod?

This is the only mod I use where the weapons retain the original white colour instead of using the mods colours.

DONT DOWNLOAD, CRASHES GAME - - - - - This mod was working perfectly fine until about a week ago (currently 8/2/21). I have over 500+ mods installed and after trial and error I found out that this is the mod that was crashing my game every time I loaded into a mission, both new and old saves. DO NOT INSTALL until an update / fix is made

Hey, uh, idk if it's this mod or the Stealth Overhaul one, but i'm doing an RPGO run now and whenever i try to use the silent takedowns, it always reveals me when i'm in the adjacent square to the enemy.
Not sure what mod is breaking this feature.

Is there any way to get a version of the throwing knife that is a pistol? For like if I have a samurai and having them with a magnum or a ray gun just doesn't fit.
