Animals Logic has a drop wool when butchering option. It works really well, but thank you for your kind words!
Satan-Sama 16 Aug, 2024 @ 5:52pm
I am sad to see this retired now, it was one of my favorite mods, strangely. But thank you for all the years of effort you made, it was great!

Crafting spot and tailoring benches. :portiallama:
Catch Lightning 1 Nov, 2022 @ 7:16pm
So how do I process these pelts anyways? Crafting spot only?
cucumpear  [author] 29 Oct, 2022 @ 2:56am
I appreciate y'all with your patience and kindness. :HatHealth:
Tablenack 28 Oct, 2022 @ 5:10pm
ohhhh time to try it :D thanks cucumpear ! hope you feel well :)
Voyeurtaz 28 Oct, 2022 @ 2:04pm
Thank you!!
cucumpear  [author] 28 Oct, 2022 @ 4:31am
I have a bit of energy today, so hopefully I can get some recompiling done. That's always the tedious part when you have to remember how to c#. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:
Voyeurtaz 27 Oct, 2022 @ 7:25pm
@cucumpear would it be alright if I post this to @mlie discord and see if he could give you some assistance with updatingit to 1.4?
Tablenack 23 Oct, 2022 @ 9:50am
@cucumpear there's time like this i feel the same way ... the only thing that seem to take me out of bed is rimworld lately =/ take a break it's not a rush :) and love your work :)
cucumpear  [author] 23 Oct, 2022 @ 9:27am
I'll try to get to it soon, but I tend to have very little energy and brain power these days.
Tablenack 23 Oct, 2022 @ 1:48am
@cucumpear any plan for 1.4 ? thanks in advance :)
Doomchibi 22 Oct, 2022 @ 9:58am
Could this get an update for 1.4? Thank you!
Lurmey 22 Nov, 2021 @ 9:06am
Also could this support SoS2's archo-life creatures particularly the Archoffalo?
Lurmey 2 Oct, 2021 @ 3:23pm
Can you add support for Vanilla Animals Expanded particular the Musk Ox?

Thanks
cucumpear  [author] 9 Mar, 2021 @ 2:30am
Yeah, you can definitely cheese that, I mathed it to be about half of what you would get for the wool after processing. I wanted to make them cheaper initially, but then you can buy them for cheap from traders and make so much money just producing wool.
LittleMikey 5 Mar, 2021 @ 2:40am
Hi there! I just wanted to say that I love this mod, but I think that the "Rough X Fleece" that spawns when you shear a creature is valued too high, they are worth way more than regular wool/leather, like $50-$100 for a basic creature. They are a great way to make money but I think it's a bit broken xD
troopersmith1 19 Aug, 2020 @ 2:14pm
Awesome. Looking forward to it. :Hire:
cucumpear  [author] 19 Aug, 2020 @ 11:57am
I'm trying to update this week. :)
troopersmith1 19 Aug, 2020 @ 3:52am
Do you have plans for updating this? If not, would you mind if I did so?
spsblue 22 May, 2020 @ 5:09pm
Looks like that fixed it; thank you.
cucumpear  [author] 22 May, 2020 @ 12:51am
Something broke modcheck, hopefully the update I just pushed fixes things, if not I'll have to rewrite the patches.
spsblue 21 May, 2020 @ 7:03pm
Hi. Just added this mod to the mod-set for a new colony (1.0) and suddenly the debug log has turned into a terrifying mass of red. :o

Log is Here: https://gist.github.com/6e777776a336f15abb439fabf2afe472

I've been away from RW for a while; am I missing something obvious or a change (other than the arrival of 1.1, which I'm only not using yet because Jecrell's LOTR mods haven't updated yet) ?
Ralathar44 1 Mar, 2020 @ 7:30am
Yay and also YAY :P. Take your time, no rush. Just dropped a line since no other comments :D.
cucumpear  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 2:52am
It's in my updating queue. :)
Ralathar44 29 Feb, 2020 @ 8:17pm
Update to 1.1 when possible if you would. It's always seemed silly to me that the vanilla game just wastes all those materials when you'e dying for resources on a hostile planet and your mod was one I never knew I needed until I found it <3
cucumpear  [author] 30 Jan, 2020 @ 11:42am
I'll look into it, no promises on a timeline atm though.
#6 30 Jan, 2020 @ 4:39am
I'd love it if this could be made compatible with the Vanilla Animals Expanded animal packs. I use them all and it's sad to see so much wool go to waste on my current "always snowing" playthrough.
cucumpear  [author] 15 Jan, 2020 @ 5:04am
There's a patch included already. ^^
ZzZombo 15 Jan, 2020 @ 4:54am
Can you and Slightly More Realistic Wool Production cooperate please?
cucumpear  [author] 20 Nov, 2019 @ 7:25am
I should whine sooner next time. I think I fixed the counter issue, so once I test in a few mod combos to see if I derped somewhere I'll update.
cucumpear  [author] 20 Nov, 2019 @ 6:34am
Well, I did indeed have a superfluous line. Now we have two options.
1. there is no "until X" counter like butchery used to work
2. it takes a while because I don't remember how to do things in C# and I need to add a whole new wool category and then a counter utility.

At this point, either is plausible. XD
On the plus side, the patches for the tailoring station and looms are in testing.
Lurmey 18 Nov, 2019 @ 6:11am
Ooh I had thought of that too. Just never got around to making it a suggestion. Thanks for putting it out there BlueTressym and thanks cucumpear for being receptive to the idea! :)
BlueTressym 17 Nov, 2019 @ 1:41pm
Thank you very much :)
cucumpear  [author] 17 Nov, 2019 @ 1:36pm
Sure, that should not be a problem. :)
BlueTressym 17 Nov, 2019 @ 10:49am
Hiya. Is it possible to have carding wool available as a job on the Tailor's Loom from VGP Garden Fabrics? It seems appropriate. Maybe also the Tailoring Station from Medieval Times?

(Edit: I was panicking because I have a cold snap and no wool, and no Tailoring Bench (very early game - thanks a lot, Cassandra!) Did find I can do the carding at a Crafting Spot so my people aren't going to die just yet *relief* )
Lurmey 14 Nov, 2019 @ 4:23pm
Np! Thanks for the quick response!
cucumpear  [author] 14 Nov, 2019 @ 1:07pm
Hm, I'll look into it, I probably forgot to delete a line or something. Thanks for the report. ^^
Lurmey 14 Nov, 2019 @ 12:56pm
For some reason carding wool until X is counting stone blocks instead of wool...
cucumpear  [author] 15 Apr, 2019 @ 7:58am
Hm, I use both of those and they drop fleeces just fine, maybe fiddle with your load order. I'd try putting this mod below Animals Logic and Variety Coats.
Sorry for the late reply, I just came home from TwitchCon. ^^
RefridgeRaider 13 Apr, 2019 @ 4:54am
The only other mod that I have that changes the animals is Animals Logic, but it works fine with that enabled. Once i removed Animal Variety Coats I started getting rough fleeces when butchering animals.
cucumpear  [author] 10 Apr, 2019 @ 2:29pm
Those two mods should be fully compatible, they patch different parts of the defs. Any other mods present that modify these animals?
RefridgeRaider 10 Apr, 2019 @ 9:35am
Having Animal Variety Coats (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1511926373&searchtext=coats) seems to cause the mod not to funtion.
MeadWolf 15 Feb, 2019 @ 4:26am
Tell me about it, without an error being logged it was a long night of trial and error until I found the culprit. It was one of the last mods I looked at as it was in the "It could never be that one" pile! Would love to know what it was doing to conflict with this mod. Have mentioned it to the author because I found it was causing some dodgy behaviour on a couple of other mods too.

Now I've had the opportunity to use your mod for a bit it's definitely being added to my essentials list. If your in a colder climate and have no animal handlers it's a lifesaver!
cucumpear  [author] 15 Feb, 2019 @ 3:22am
Wow, I would never had suspected that one, thank you and kudos for figuring that out!
MeadWolf 15 Feb, 2019 @ 12:10am
Thanks, so I checked that and I could indeed spawn rough fleece from the development menus confirming that at least the mod was getting installed through the workshop. So I decided to do some more testing and turns out it was a mod called Story Framework https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1413932960 that was responsible.
cucumpear  [author] 14 Feb, 2019 @ 4:46pm
Hm, do the animals drop anything else? I actually renamed the wool piles in January and totally forgot to change that to rough fleece in the description here.
MeadWolf 14 Feb, 2019 @ 12:41pm
Is there some secret technique to producing wool piles? Neither this mod nor the ACP compatible one produces any when I butcher creatures like alpacas and sheep.

I would provide a log but there are no error messages to speak of, and when I try to spawn wool piles in development mode they do not exist as an item. Its almost as if the mod doesn't exist but it is there plain as day in my mod list. Have tried top, bottom and middle of load order and no difference. Colour me confused :S
Gatt 8 Nov, 2018 @ 7:38pm
cool, didnt didnt notice how much wool was produced, makes sense, thanks for the info
cucumpear  [author] 8 Nov, 2018 @ 2:03pm
That is intended. Each pile will yield as much as a full shearing of an animal, which is why the values vary so much. If they were cheaper you'd get rich FAST just buying and carding the wool. :)
