CinnamonApples 4 Aug, 2022 @ 1:38am
ok
Rectus  [author] 4 Aug, 2022 @ 1:04am
It should. I don't have any Oculus headsets to confirm it with though.
CinnamonApples 4 Aug, 2022 @ 1:01am
does this work on oculus
Slay still drunk 17 Dec, 2021 @ 1:24pm
really cool, what a Lobby!
sultanOFsick 3 Jul, 2021 @ 12:27am
I've never had any sort of motion sickness/fear of heights, had no problem whatsoever acclimating to VR. Then I tried this. 10/10, would vomit on my floor again.
Rectus  [author] 24 Feb, 2021 @ 4:58pm
Subscribe to the item, then in SteamVR Home bring up the Home menu (not the dashboard) and click on the the big Environments button. The menu is usually bound to one of the A/B/X/Y/hamburger menu buttons depending on controller.
Dr_Potato 24 Feb, 2021 @ 4:48pm
im new to steam vr how do I start playing
Wolfsmaul-GER 27 Dec, 2020 @ 2:48pm
alright thanks
Rectus  [author] 27 Dec, 2020 @ 2:15pm
The further down you crouch, the faster you go. You can also use the jetpack or other tools to boost you.
Wolfsmaul-GER 27 Dec, 2020 @ 12:46pm
its fun, but how do i get the most speed, been trying to swing my arms around like wheels
CoolHandLuke 26 Oct, 2020 @ 5:56am
OK thanks, I look forward to trying this :)
Rectus  [author] 26 Oct, 2020 @ 5:46am
I haven't heard of there being any WMR specific issues at least.
CoolHandLuke 26 Oct, 2020 @ 5:40am
Looks very good, is it likely to work in WMR (my new G2 when it arrives) ? thanks
Shau 20 Aug, 2020 @ 1:47pm
Idk, It didnt work for me like i'd expect ti to work. And I kept dropping the sticks because of some weird button mapping.
Rectus  [author] 12 Jul, 2020 @ 5:50am
It's a separtate program that is needed to modify the environments.
Michael 12 Jul, 2020 @ 5:46am
I would actually be totally fine with that. There are lots of amazing scenic places folks have made where teleporting completely breaks the immersion.

For the life of me though, I can't quite wrap my head around what's needed to make this work. It seems outside programs and utilities are involved.
Rectus  [author] 12 Jul, 2020 @ 5:43am
That should work, but it does it by modifying the individual environment addons. This will prevent them from updating themselves, and you won't be able to use them in multiplayer.
Michael 12 Jul, 2020 @ 5:40am
The Workshop page is confusing, but ultimately this is what I'm trying to get to happen:

Thanks for the reply!

I JUST found this actually, thanks to an old exchange between you and another modder on Reddit. Not stalking you, I promise. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Any input maybe?
Rectus  [author] 12 Jul, 2020 @ 5:35am
I don't think it's possible short of Valve adding support for it, at least for the workshop. There is no way for an addon to affect other environments. It should be possible by modifying the game files, but that's really tedious.
Michael 12 Jul, 2020 @ 4:56am
This is fantastic! I had no idea that it was even possible to have physics like this in SteamVR Home, let alone actual locomotion! Terrific job!

This leaves me all the more confused, however, as to why it's not offered by default. Could someone - if not Valve - release a "global" menu extension like the one that was made for this specific room? A simple analogue walk would be an amazing improvement for EVERY room that people make.
EternalShadow 28 Dec, 2019 @ 4:59am
Thank you for still supporting it :D
Rectus  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 12:31pm
Thanks, I'll try to add that in the next time I update the map.
EternalShadow 27 Dec, 2019 @ 12:20pm
It happened every time I tested it recently, I was generally going fast but I've not tested it going slowly. Perhaps automatically return the player to the chalet when they fall through the map to a certain point for now?
Rectus  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 10:35am
Thanks for reporting the issue.

Does it happen every time, and is it only when you're falling fast?

There has always been issues with falling through the ground, it's an issue with how I implemented the player collisions. Unfortunately don't think I can make it any better without support from Valves side.
EternalShadow 27 Dec, 2019 @ 7:33am
There appears to be a bug in this now that wasn't there before - when going over the rocks, I seem to fall through the map?
Rectus  [author] 22 Dec, 2019 @ 1:03am
Open up the SteamVR Home menu (not the overlay) and press the Environments button. The menu shold be bound to the B or in-game menu button depending on what motion controllers you use.
C0RN 21 Dec, 2019 @ 4:34pm
where do I go to play this?
tabrusch 5 Dec, 2019 @ 11:51am
Danke für das großartige Erlebnis mit dem Jetpack. Eine meiner besten Erfahrungen bis jetzt in der VR Welt. Schon als Kind habe ich mir geträumt so in den Bergen herumzudüsen:):):)
Rectus  [author] 16 Jul, 2019 @ 12:42am
Pressing the subscribe button makes Steam download it. It is then available from the Environments menu in SteamVR Home.
MarcusC 16 Jul, 2019 @ 12:41am
Near the top of this page just below the pictures of the mod is a green button labeled "Subscribe" (under bottom right corner of images)
GROMOVNIK 16 Jul, 2019 @ 12:37am
How do you download it? All it says is: Subscribe to download,. but like Valve Tech Support it seems to be non-existent!
MarcusC 5 Jun, 2019 @ 2:24am
I hope you do. It would make this even more cool. :lunar2019grinningpig:
Rectus  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 2:16am
The area is cube shaped, so it would work. I think someone suggested adding a cave in the comments. I might do that at some point.
MarcusC 5 Jun, 2019 @ 2:11am
Would making a downhill spiral work? That would be longer.
Rectus  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 12:34am
Yeah, I wanted to make it longer, but unfortunately the playable area size in Home is limited.
droneattack 4 Jun, 2019 @ 3:50pm
ok. would be cool too if it were just a longer slope to go down.
Rectus  [author] 4 Jun, 2019 @ 3:48pm
It's possible in the future, but I don't have any current plans on expanding it into a game.
droneattack 4 Jun, 2019 @ 2:36pm
is this gonna be a game? This is better than the actual VR skiing games.
MarcusC 22 Feb, 2019 @ 12:48pm
Oh. I see. Thanks
Rectus  [author] 22 Feb, 2019 @ 12:46pm
Yeah. It shows what items are required in the panel on the right on the workshop page.
soontekk 22 Feb, 2019 @ 11:44am
Good to know :o !
Rectus  [author] 22 Feb, 2019 @ 10:40am
Yes.
soontekk 22 Feb, 2019 @ 10:27am
Oh is that how dependencies work ? If i use something from an asset pack it has to be installed at the users end too ?
Rectus  [author] 22 Feb, 2019 @ 10:14am
The jetpack should be fixed now. Note that the map now requires the Scripted Item Testing Range installed.
soontekk 22 Feb, 2019 @ 5:57am
Brilliant, i want to be able to make something like that, the functions like: if touch cat = cat farts colorfull audible particles :)
