Can you blame them? Most of these updates are not exactly mod-friendly and break a lot of things. I wish it would be posssible to just freeze the game in Steam and play it on servers that use the same version, but Steam forces you to update to the latest version.
I really like this mod and might make my own. My idea involves binding dead bodies like thralls, then placing them on crosses or pikes where their corpses appear, similar to taxidermy items. The challenge is getting NPC data to display properly, as they might otherwise appear as generic bald NPCs. I'm still learning the devkit, but I'm working on it.
I also envision a version using sorcery, where reanimated fresh corpses act like human zombies that can wield weapons. If left to decay, they become stronger, weaponless zombies with superhuman abilities. This is just my concept since JY hasn’t shared a roadmap. It’s disappointing to wait months with no updates, so I might create my own version with a broader scope.

I manage to create the corpse on NPC death (not all & not player, but I give update on the discord when advancement are made)
I already planned a list of item and functionnality but I won't put them there, already post the link with the details inside, but it well be few item by few item to be easy for me to work on with my time on it (I mean, the mod file are difficult to read so it take a lot of time just to know where to work)
With the corpse item lootable, I now work on the saving of the property and check if it's well saved (but difficult on this)
Curious, wouldn't it be easier to temporarily completely get rid of the loot and head trophy system, and keep just the crucifying content? That's awesome enough on it's own, and it seems that has never collided with anything in the game.
That way, either have it standalone, and have more freedom to just focus on the head system in the future, perhaps finishing them as 2 standalone mods
I'm slowly getting more clues in the files that it might be easier to focus on splitting the mod, just making away with the heads portion of it for now (I'm SLIGHTLY biased too, since I'm perfectly happy with the crucifiction and impalement if heads are buggy ^^")

I created a discord for the road map of version to have a clean view of the avancement and make some since last time even if I got different technical difficultie to finish the first version
for the things I block : generate the lootable from the corpse, save the data of the character on the lootable item and as long than this step isn't complete I can't create the item to make sure everything spawn the right way
Got some difficulty on my own since few week so wasn't inside the mood to advance on the mod, but got personal time soon to hopefully correct the actual issue and make advance
I'm investigating to "quick-fix" by removing incompatible features, but I'm new to THIS devkit and mod platform
Not to mention I'm rusty in general xD

Btw, won't simply removing the trophy mechanic work? Then at least we'll just have crucified and impaled thralls xD
