Maybe you could add some music, and also you could choose your look. I chose female and it wasblonde and blue eyed, but some girls may be brunette.

prices wouldn't work half the time, they didn't say what they though the item was worth, and it didn't tell me if they thought it was a bad deal, or anything half the time

I really liked this. Simplistic, and executed fairly well. But the menu background blinds me, is all.

the screenshot looks like you could use those items for a minecraft fan game.

Daynar  [author] 11 Feb, 2013 @ 1:48pm

Nice Reccetear-like game. In my computer I experienced an annoying bug, though. It doesn't allow to press enter after the money amount to confirm buy or sell operation. It usually happens after the first week. As a sugestion, you could give more humorous names to objects, objects with a different conservation condition (mint, used, bad conservation) and stats +1, +2, -1 to individual items so they have different value being the same object.

Nice job overall. I like the music, and the graphics and gameplay were better than I thought they'd be from just the menu screenshot shown here. The encyclopedia concept works well too. I haven't played more than a few minutes, so I suspect I'll find more to like. Some suggestions based on just this quick play: consider limiting the size of the input for the player's name. No need to accept hundreds of characters. :) Consider changing up the menu options (disabling them or hiding them) when the player is entering his/her name. I didn't know I was supposed to hit enter, so I clicked "new game" because it was still enabled -- but that just removed the name entry, effectively putting me back into the main menu. It would also help if the game paused when the menu and encyclopedia were opened. If it is pausing, make the people stop walking so that I know it's paused! ;) Really good job based on what I've seen.

Really cool but whenever i try to buy a chef hat they say it's to small of a price.
GregStrider 29 Dec, 2012 @ 12:27pm
Oh yeah, i unsubscribed and resubscribe and it works, thanks, now testing!
Daynar  [author] 29 Dec, 2012 @ 9:20am
o.O try unsubscribing then resubscribing I can't really do anything about that since thats a gm problem not a bug I have control over :(.
GregStrider 29 Dec, 2012 @ 8:57am
Well.. i can't play it.. When i click to play, the game just doesnt launch. :(
Daynar  [author] 29 Dec, 2012 @ 6:37am
Not really, reccetear has different mechanics, and if this counts as ripped almost every game in the dec competition has a game or tutorial better than it that they coppied the idea and base mechanics from. Just because there's only 1 game with the same idea as this doesn't mean any similar game is a rip off. Look at games like tochlight and diablo. Similar mechanics almost identical game play but not considered rip offs.

Add freeplay and shop upgrades
Daynar  [author] 28 Dec, 2012 @ 1:15pm
Yea https://steamhost.cn/app/70400/?snr=1_7_suggest__13 and minigames in some jrpgs are what I based this off of. :P

This is actually a really cool concept, I remember playing a game similiar to this called Reccetear or something aloing those lines. For what the objective of the game is it is actually very good. The only thing I can think of is that it needs a bit more polish and some more music at your disposal. Other than that, I like it.
Daynar  [author] 28 Dec, 2012 @ 1:01pm
I'll probably either do that or use some of the mechanics from this. ( how inventory works sprites etc) To make a simple action rpg. I'll probably either try to make a simple rpg based around owning an item shop or an action rpg with running a shop as a minigame. My goal is to make a cheap $1 game in a year and 3-4 months to help pay for college.
Currently I have hit the sprite and background caps so I can't realy add more npcs or new locations. (waiting to see if the master pack goes 50% off)
I'll probably try to add shop upgrades over the next few days but I'm not exactly sure what to add. I may add an exp/leveling system that allows you to choose what to spec into (persuasion-more tries/better deals, carisma-more fame gain and less loss, etc)
I might also add strait up gold for upgrades like more inventory longer days etc. I'm not sure if either of those are great ideas though. :P

In my opinion this is a good base, now I think you should add achievments, upgrades, a story, possibly change the design some, and some other stuff that you see in games. If you do that, you might have a game that could make you some money.

this was pretty damn fun! sir, you have hereby gained six stars outta five from a fine lad of scandinavia
Daynar  [author] 28 Dec, 2012 @ 7:37am
I added a tutorial but the game refuses to update right now >.>
The goal of the game is to get enough money to pay off the increasing weekly debt and survive as long as possible. At the beginning of each day you choose to either buy or sell. The customers will then walk up to the counter and ask to buy or sell something. They will choose a semi-random price arround the base price of the object. Type in your offer and press enter to
confirm. They will give you another try if it is not to their satisfaction. You will have to guess the base price until you have obtained the item at least once. Then you can open the encyclopedia.(located in the top right corner of the screen) and check the base price at any time. If it is a successful transaction you will gain fame and your inventory and gold will be affected. If it is unsuccessful you will lose fame. New npcs selling more expensive items come with higher fame.
