@Coldburg Have you ever considered going and fucking yourself?
Iceberg 19 Mar, 2018 @ 11:28pm
This wonder should demoralize the majority population and cause riots to occur

This mod is just a depressing reminder to me that despite the fact that many people against civil rights were assasinated, we as a country made them less important and used the assasination of MLK to push our agenda.

thanks can't wait to get the new version :)

Suez is definitely on the horizon, especially with the new Trade system!

What chance of having The Suez Canal as a world wonder on here. I would love to see it and add to my wonder collection. :) I actually crossed The Suez Canal heading to Cairo,Egypt.

Never would I expect to see such backlash for such a great person. Unbelievable. I think I saw someone refer to him as a Communist. Ummm.... He was quite conservative and was a registered Republican.

See prpich25's post below.

Just what we need a monument to a black communist plagurist.
Prpich25 12 Mar, 2013 @ 9:32pm
Wow really? Its a freaking mod for a game...You people are looking way to deep into it. If you like it download it, if not, move on.

now that I got started, people forget that it was under Bill Clinton who managed to get our debt levels down, and if he had handed over to Gore, our national debt wouldn't be 123 % of GDP. Petraeus saved a botched war from complete disaster.

@leytelj: There people go again. Even though you are mentioning that great men have flaws, why you mention JFK's transgressions without mentioning what made him a great and inspirational leader in the first place? He was a war hero who almost singlehandely saved half a dozen or more men when his PT Boat went down. He set up the Peace Corps so that American youngsters could get actively involved in developing countries. Most of all, he and his brother prevented the Cuban Missile Crisis from turning into a nuclear holocaust. The nutters in the Pentagon were for going right in. If it wasn't for Jack and Bobby, none of us would be here.

@RedneckRapture

Nice response to johnnynesbit.

A rather large number of historical figures admired today for one reason or another were guilty of drinking to excess, womanizing, or both -- notably John F. Kennedy, who achieved his greatest prominence and was assassinated in close to the same timeframe as MLK.

Maybe you're thinking of Malcolm X, since Martin was never a Black supremacist, and actually preached against the idea that any race of people were or should be superior to any other. Malcolm on the other hand did espouse Black supremacy... though even in his case, the label only applied during the years he spent as part of the "Nation of Islam" sect, before he underwent a second conversion to traditional Islam during his hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca. He was not a Black supremacist when he was known as Malcolm Little prior to his conversion to "Nation" Islam, nor after his second conversion after which he took the name El-Hajj Malik El Shabazz.

Thank You Pouakai, great work. Ignore the bigoted haters, this is a lovely, great looking, well balanced mod. Good Job!
RedRapture 15 Jan, 2013 @ 6:46pm
@johnnynesbit He was also a black supremisist. However, what he was does not matter in the greater scheme or things. What he accomplished is what's important. He brought Americans closer to one another, well deserving of a monument. A well designed mod for a well designed monument commemorating an important historical figure. I will be downloading.

Good mod, good balance and picture description. Thumbs up!

johnny that's some of the most ad hominem bullshit I've ever heard. Why don't you just come right out and say that you don't want a monument commemorating a "nigger" in the game.

Because I know that's what's really on your mind.
Jaeger 29 Dec, 2012 @ 6:08pm
LOL martin luther king. out of all the other great monuments and things you chose this stupid statue that commemorates a drunk and a womanizer?
BloodMalice 27 Dec, 2012 @ 3:23am
I would agree with Danny that the national mall would be more appropriate, as it encompasses more. I don't see this monument as a wonder as 1) the intangible meaning behind it doesn't have as strong an association as the mall does and 2) isn't really an impressive feat of engineering. This isn't to devalue the monument, but I don't believe it's yet deserving of that "wonder" status.
neokai 22 Dec, 2012 @ 12:45am
Oooo, sweet. I will take a look at it now.
Pouakai  [author] 22 Dec, 2012 @ 12:39am
I've got The Motherland Calls, which gives 10 Happiness and 10 Production with Communism
neokai 22 Dec, 2012 @ 12:36am
Wonder if there's a Red Square wonder to counter balance this wonder - something like +2 Happiness and +2 hammers to all cities with Order.
seancolorado 21 Dec, 2012 @ 12:35pm
As for this wonder itself, not bad. Not even remotely OP. As for other wonders, I don't know if you take requests and you're probably busy anyway but you should check out the Red Rocks Ampitheater in Colorado. Pretty amazing place
seancolorado 21 Dec, 2012 @ 12:30pm
The National Mall would be a great wonder - the thing is, within it are so many wonders on its own so. Either way you can't go wrong
dannyboy2016 20 Dec, 2012 @ 3:45pm
I love your wonders. I'd personally prefer if this wonder was more generally based on D.C.'s National Mall. That has been the sites of many protests, including King's march on Washington. Plus the King memorial is within walking distance from the mall. Then again, maybe the National Mall could be added as a seperate wonder (or places on or next to the mall like the Smithsonian Institution Building could be added as wonders instead).

Nice.
