@GonDragon
Thank you very much!! I think I got everything up and working, so I'll be uploading it to the workshop. Thanks again for the awesome mod, and for permission to make this variant!

@Beansprout Sure! Grab the code and assets and do as you pleases. It doesn't even need to be an addon, if you want to grab the assets and code of the Carpet Tool and do a totally stand-alone alternative, i'm totally fine with that. :cozyspaceengineersc:

Hi GonDragon! I love this mod a lot, and I was wondering if I could make an addon that adds a fluffier carpet alternative? Not a texture change, but an additional carpet tool.

I slowly was thinking that maybe this would make me to crazed to try to build but then I realized that it can add just that enough colour to be both simple and yet so vibrant
Especially when having to do a big Facility I think a bit of more vibrant colours may improve the fully sterile environment if I want to make it a bit more friendlier
WillowGhostSong 28 Apr, 2020 @ 5:39pm
okay I tried doing that but I'm guessing I need to hold the button down a bit more?
GonDragon  [author] 28 Apr, 2020 @ 5:49am
@ObscureNeurosis: You aim to the ground, and fire. The cloud of dust it's a projectile, and it aplies the carpet modifier to the tiles it hits.
WillowGhostSong 28 Apr, 2020 @ 3:48am
um how do you use the tool I tried making it put carpet down but it only seemed to switch the color of the little cloud of dust. Sorry I'm a bit confused on how to use this correctly.

@Neverward: Here you go Carpet Tool - Lowground Addon
ento 7 Dec, 2019 @ 9:14am
very cool, now i don't have to use moon dust for carpet
Neverward 5 Dec, 2019 @ 7:10pm
Oh wow thanks! TuT <33
GonDragon  [author] 5 Dec, 2019 @ 5:19am
@Neverward: Well, it's a pretty easy thing to do, I just have to move the carpet graphics one pixel down... If I found the files this weekend, I will try to release it as an addon for this mod.
Neverward 4 Dec, 2019 @ 10:41pm
Hey! I know it's been ages since you made this awesome mod, but I was curious if you would consider making a version of it that has the carpet one pixel lower as cutieryan said, for those of us willing to risk a dirty carpet ;D if not I totally understand <3 just thought I'd ask!

@Cutieryan: Yes, I also agree about that lower the carpet one pixel will make it look, "generally", better. However, I made it the way it is because, on my tests, some vanilla tiles (mostly irregular ones, like plain dirt) go above the carpet, making it look bad... so, I prioriticed overall compatibility with tiles.

And about FU, yes, it is compatible. Both mods got the idea from Ground Seeder, a mod from NovastarX (linked in the description). Generally speaking, if a mod is just one or many objects, that do not interact in strange ways with quests / npc / UI , it should work just fine with FU.
cutieryan 21 Jul, 2019 @ 1:23pm
I really like the idea of this mod, it REALLY helps with a lot of builds in many ways.
Although, I personally think the carpet texture should be a bit lower by one pixel, since the player's feet are completely buried in the carpet, as seen in your pictures.

Also is this (still) compatible with Frackin' Universe? FU has something similar to this, (the Material Mod Placer tool,) but it only places grass.
GonDragon  [author] 30 Jun, 2019 @ 9:53am
@Link117 @Zachery: I added Black and Teal to the colors. However, I won't add more colors, or the color selection would become too overloaded.
Link117 30 Jun, 2019 @ 8:32am
can you add teal color or mabey a light blue?
GonDragon  [author] 11 Nov, 2018 @ 2:20pm
@zachery Maybe. If I remember well, it's pretty easy to add new colors. But don't expect any update soon, I'm not in position to update mods right now.
Sinnroy 11 Nov, 2018 @ 12:25pm
can you add black?
Arc Angel 14 Apr, 2018 @ 8:16pm
Why the fuck is this not in the vanilla game?

I just hope the fact that I installed this and three other mods won't mess up my save profile, but seriously, this looks great! When I first read the description, I was a little dubious, but for those people who love pretty buildins, this is glorious!
MediHomiPoni 13 Nov, 2017 @ 3:21am
finally my carpet can really match my drapes.
GonDragon  [author] 31 Oct, 2017 @ 12:52pm
@kek Thanks. Probably the description went back to it's old self when I updated the mod for the Workshop Tags.
bloopah 31 Oct, 2017 @ 12:15pm
boi the link wont work when the brackets are directly at the link
GonDragon  [author] 18 Oct, 2017 @ 8:56am
@Shurik1236 If you know how to patch files, you can add more textures patching the file "carpetcolor.weaponability".
Shurik1236 18 Oct, 2017 @ 8:49am
А можно добавить больше текстур если это возможно?
Например деревянный паркет, плитка и так далее.

(Google)
Can I add more textures if possible?
For example, wooden parquet, tiles and so on.

Saw this, instantly subscribed. This is an awesome mod idea, and I hope it proves to be great in execution! The screen shots look great, and with all my other decoration focused mods, this should fit.

GonDragon  [author] 29 Sep, 2017 @ 2:55pm
@indeepj If you have a problem with a mod and you don't know which of them are causing it, post your problem in the modding discussion of the workshop, or in the modding forum [community.playstarbound.com] of the community starbound page. Also, /r/Starbound on reddit is a good place to ask. But, please, attach your Starbound.log with your message (using a page like pastebin), or nobody will be able to help you.

My Problems Just A Mod. But I Dont Know What It Is. I Think Its An Old And Non Updated Mod, But I Dont Know What Mod It Is.
GonDragon  [author] 28 Sep, 2017 @ 2:11pm
@indeepj Copy the "Storage" folder of your Unstable Starbound, download the Stable version of Starbound, and paste your storage folder there. Right now, Unstable and Stable branches of Starbound are actually the same.

Otherwise, you can also download the non-steam version of this mod [community.playstarbound.com] in the Community Starbound forum.
indeepj 28 Sep, 2017 @ 11:31am
Great! Problem Is That I Can Only Use The Unstable Starbound Version.

EyeBob 25 Sep, 2017 @ 6:25pm
@GonDragon YES! I've been wanting to play the Peglaci ever since I've heard of it. You can bet I'll be one of the first to play it if it comes out!
GonDragon  [author] 25 Sep, 2017 @ 6:23pm
@Maxxor501 With other moders, we are trying to push a Community Update for the Peglaci (like, the Triage of the Avali).
Absolute Madman✨ 25 Sep, 2017 @ 2:02pm
Oh thank god.
EyeBob 25 Sep, 2017 @ 12:01pm
How did you get the Peglaci race mod? I thought that was a deprecated mod?
