Synthetic Ascendants are supposed to have them, I think. They have individual ethos, happiness, and even unrest. And before 1.8 they did have factions.
I'm guessing somewhere some wires got crossed and a dev confused synthetic ascended populations with starting synthetics when locking them out of faction attraction.

Though they said in the patch notes that this ssue has been fixed, it actually hasn't and is still bugged.
there's no point in taking this down, as the 1.8.1 opt-in patch is still just that: opt-in. most mods do not account for opt-in betas, and they shouldn't anyway, since opt-in betas are a work in progress, and can change upon final release. Knowing paradox, it probably will change.

firedron, the changes he's adding is in the tech tree, to allow machine empires to research to research frontier health. I brought up that this fix was only half-implimented (he worked with supply depots in his buildings file, but never fixed the research it was dependant on in the tech file) and asked if he could impliment the bugfix

Yeah, I just wanted to know if I could use it and merge it into the mod. Also, I'm not doing the megastructure piece since some people really want to be able to build multiple megastructures and I don't want to overwrite the ability for that.
I wanted to know if I could adapt your mod code into my megamod. I'd be happy to link back to this mod.
