This is actually something I thought of yesterday: to make a sort of collection of multiple maps in one chamber. I'll take what you say as a sign of something I shall do!

Very cool, a little easy. But short and sweet is nice also! What would be awesome is if you took a bunch of your short maps like this and strung them together into a large one. Although maybe you have, this is only the 3rd one of yours ive tried. I'm off to try the rest now!

Yeah, I know, but it's nice to have around. I didn't want the player to have to restart everything they did just to get up there.
Akiva 7 Aug, 2013 @ 1:27pm
You don't need the flipper (a.k.a. faith plate).

so the name threw me off a bit here, i was trying to place the portal on the ceiling , any way video on it's way
Robly18  [author] 21 Jan, 2013 @ 2:57pm
It's not neccessary, but it's still incredibly handy. The puzzle becomes much more frustrating without it.

I like the map, but I'm still not sure, if the jumping plate is really necessary, although it's nice to have it there.
Chris Throup 13 Jan, 2013 @ 6:21am
My apologies, Robly18. I clearly was missing something obvious; I was using the faith plate to access the shelf, but completely missed the fact I had more space to place the cube. Much, much less frustrating now :-)
Robly18  [author] 12 Jan, 2013 @ 4:41am
@polarpal99 There is no need for portal bumping...
@Chris well, I placed a faith plate and such. I also moved the observation room. You should probably try to fiddle with portals instead of the cube.
Chris Throup 12 Jan, 2013 @ 2:08am
Thanks for trying to improve this. V1.1 is less frustrating, but (unless I'm missing something obvious) I still have to do some awkward cube positioning to ensure the laser will hit the right spot. Is there any way you could give us better access to that spot? How about putting in a piston platform also connected to the button? Then we could adjust the cube from floor level, but it's only in position when we're back on the button.
polarpal99 11 Jan, 2013 @ 8:47pm
@Roby18 - both the need for the portal bump and frustration with cube positioning (see @Chris Throup remark, 7 hrs prior to this)
Robly18  [author] 11 Jan, 2013 @ 4:55pm
Hm, I've thought on it and have found a way to optimize it, but I'm as of right now unable. Maybe tommorow or after tommorow.
Chris Throup 11 Jan, 2013 @ 1:28pm
I enjoyed finding a solution, but then spent about twice as long just getting the cube in the right position, which I found very tedious. Would you consider adding some steps up to the shelf? I don't think it would affect the puzzle, but would definitely reduce the frustration.
Robly18  [author] 10 Jan, 2013 @ 2:40pm
Portal bumping? might as well just noclip your way out, no?
Wolf bytes 10 Jan, 2013 @ 2:18pm
This is very easy with the use of portal bumping.
Robly18  [author] 10 Jan, 2013 @ 9:21am
What do you mean? In what ways does this torture the user?
polarpal99 9 Jan, 2013 @ 6:09pm
Didn't enjoy this at all. Violtes the 'do not torture the user' rule.
"Try again; this chamber is not a winner"
Robly18  [author] 4 Jan, 2013 @ 7:09am
In case you're wondering, no, a faith plate does NOT count as fun.
JayB52 4 Jan, 2013 @ 7:08am
You must have walked through the door, jumped in the pond and died or you would have seen the fun, and guess what, no problems.
Robly18  [author] 4 Jan, 2013 @ 6:11am
@JayB52 well, even though my puzzle may have it's problems, it is atleast not an oversized allblack chamber. I am sorry, but I will delete your comment. If you are to advertise your test chamber atleast make it a good one.

Nice Map!
orastem 27 Dec, 2012 @ 4:23pm
Quite tedious, the main difficulty isn't in solving the riddle, but in twiddling with the box to get it just right. The purpose of the switch is to have a box laying on it to enable it and not what this chamber requires (not to give away the solution). But I guess that's thinking out of the box :)
Aaron 27 Dec, 2012 @ 2:31pm
Great test! Thanks!
Vivy-NX 27 Dec, 2012 @ 12:35pm
Lol description. [ontopic] I might try it. One thing WITHOUT trying it:Nice compaction.
Amion 27 Dec, 2012 @ 6:54am
Smart test. I like it.
Sumeron 26 Dec, 2012 @ 4:37am
Took me a while, but it's really nicely designed and the final part is really well thought up.
Nalkahn 26 Dec, 2012 @ 2:57am
Simple design but nice puzzle.

(If someone search for an hard map, check my last product)
Rewas 26 Dec, 2012 @ 2:54am
Tricky. I liked it. I really like short and tricky maps. :)
mood3rd 25 Dec, 2012 @ 5:36pm
thankyou for your feedback :)
Robly18  [author] 25 Dec, 2012 @ 5:30pm
Why yes, that is indeed the intended solution. I doubt there are any ninja ones though, considering the simplicity of the test. Thanks for letting me know my test is actually leading people to the right solution though.

I'm not deleting the comment. After all, if someone is stuck in the chamber, they oughtta need a walkthrough!
