does it work with resourceful 2?
Sushian 24 Mar @ 9:17am
Don't know if you'll catch this, but using the Monopoly & Luxury Scenario, the Gold Luxury does not have an industry associated to whereas the Shark, Obsidian, and Cheese have industries coded.

1. You need to get a mod that increases the number of individual resource types available on a map. It is limited and depending on how many resource mods you have you could be only seeing a fraction of them on any map because they don't add them all.
2. Some resources are only on or around certain continents. I literally had a map with 2 super continents and mine had tons of sea turtles and the other continent had tons of sharks, they DID NOT mingle.
3. Get a mod that gives you more resource types per map and play with monopolies mode activated since with the variety you'll end up with a fewer number of each individual resource. The monopoly income affects the AI too for the record.

Does using this mod with Sukritacts Ocean's get rid of sharks as a resource? I've played many games with both mods active and I've never seen sharks in any of my games.

@JamesDO2
I use them together.
JamesD02 20 Apr, 2024 @ 3:24pm
Hi, I was hoping to use this Mod in combination with your brilliant oceans mod in a game but after 3 turns in my game has just crashed and is not letting me reload any Saves. I wondered if those two mods work together? Just wanted to check through and try and work out what's causing the issue because it could well be my game/laptop. Thanks!
oldetyme 9 Apr, 2024 @ 12:37pm
it seems not to be compatible with the vercingetorix gaul custom civ
Doctor Proteus 20 Mar, 2024 @ 10:20am
Cheese isn't a natural resource, we can produce it anywhere as long as we have the ingredients and technique. :lunar2019piginablanket:
itamariuser100 16 Mar, 2024 @ 6:07am
Does this make maps have more resources on average? Or is it balanced with the vanilla resources?
The Dark Ranger 19 Jan, 2024 @ 9:14am
I'm wondering if the resources from your sea mod (sturgeon at the very least) can be added here since the sea mod and map back mods don't work together but this one does.

@trout earth huge i'm pretty sure has preset resources and natural wonders. I know my natural wonder mods don't show up on that map, so I don't think resource mods will either.
SlideZ 16 Sep, 2023 @ 6:26pm
Cant find them, does it not work with Earth huge?
Nonow 28 May, 2023 @ 1:07pm
Hummmmm.... cheeeeeese :3
Napoleon Blownapart 20 Apr, 2023 @ 9:52am
Great mod, but there's a UI bug, whenever you switch to strategic view, every industries & corporations improvements shows "Missing Art" on the map. Will you fix it by any chance? would be much obliged if u do. Thanks in advanced. Keep up the good work!
Pookie 6 Apr, 2023 @ 9:06pm
I like cheese
Bishop 29 Mar, 2023 @ 9:14pm
why shark? sorry dumb mod
Solarius Scorch 27 Mar, 2023 @ 9:28am
@Eden Elvis: ...I'm lost. Why would anyone want to make the issue even more serious?
Eden Elvis 24 Mar, 2023 @ 12:23pm
How are people complaining about cheese when wine, silk, milk, honey are all already in the game if you don't think any resources should be named after finished products. Take it up with Firaxis and get them to add grapes, silk worms, honey bees, and cattle to the game instead
Drahzev 6 Feb, 2023 @ 7:12am
Regarding cheese, it's like wine in the base game. It is a transformation process that has existed since prehistoric times and which also served to conserve and transport these resources for trade.
Davide_Italy_83 29 Jan, 2023 @ 1:50am
Am I the only one who thinks the "cheese" resource is wrong? the others are all correct because they are all at the beginning of the transformation process!!
Varlian 19 Jan, 2023 @ 5:30am
I would like to pass a translation for this mod into Spanish. I already have it done, but where could I upload it so anyone can use it?
steelus megalo 18 Jan, 2023 @ 11:18am
but cheese is cattle
Solarius Scorch 5 Jan, 2023 @ 2:46am
@Hydragal: While this solution is still a bit awkward, at least it presents you with a strategical choice, so would be an improvement, yes. :)
@GoldLeader: Sure it is!
Sleepii 4 Jan, 2023 @ 3:33pm
Is this compatible with the monopolies and corporations mode??
Hydragal 1 Jan, 2023 @ 5:07am
I think a solution to real world resources having multiple derivative products or multiple sources where a similar resource can be obtained is to have builders be able to make different improvements. The milk icon for cattle would need to be replaced with a cow for sensibility, but a builder improving the cattle could make a beef, cheese, or milk farm. Honestly the yields could be the same as base improved cattle, the flavor would just be nice.
Solarius Scorch 22 Dec, 2022 @ 2:10am
@ Kakutani's Fixed Point Fair enough, replacing milk would be a better idea. Milk always seemed like a weird choice to me - why milk, and not the whole animal (meat, skins, etc.)?
Kakutani's Fixed Point 21 Dec, 2022 @ 1:08pm
I think everyone complaining about cheese has it backwards--cheese makes a lot more sense than milk does. A regional cheese can be hard to replicate elsewhere. Cattle, once you've bred them, can be easily moved.
Borotes 11 Dec, 2022 @ 10:57am
Really great Mod, can you translate it in german in a future version?
Tovarish Malun 28 Nov, 2022 @ 5:46am
its not compatible for me
Solarius Scorch 22 Nov, 2022 @ 4:01am
Yes, wool indeed suffers from the same problem as cheese... I just think it's a bit less obvious, since there are multiple sources of wool. But heck, you're right. How about we replace it with some wooly animal then, instead of wool? Llamas, alpacas, yaks?
Or maybe abandon this wool idea and use poppies instead. Civ: Call to Power had that.
M 21 Nov, 2022 @ 4:30pm
I agree that it's a bit jarring to have cheese and milk as separate resources, but what about wool wouldn't that come from sheep and if you have latin American resources llama?
Solarius Scorch 21 Nov, 2022 @ 1:24am
I'll chime in about the cheese, it's pretty jarring to have this and milk.
I would suggest making it wool instead.
James III, Vampire Killer 2K1 14 Nov, 2022 @ 2:46pm
How can i disable certain resources?
marz2004 13 Nov, 2022 @ 9:19pm
I think it is a bit odd to add cheese as luxury, since it is made generally out of milk
Fork The Disemboweler 8 Nov, 2022 @ 11:06am
Cheese looks a bit odd. All resources are about harvesting it, while cheese is produced.
Protein Shaker 25 Oct, 2022 @ 12:07pm
ah yes, cheese harvesting
Shuhrat 27 Sep, 2022 @ 1:04am
It seems to me that the game lacks some resources.
Such as:
- Coconuts
- Mango
- Pineapple
- Beans
- Turquoise
- Roses
- Chicken
- Clay
- Sunflower
- Rhinoceros
- Walrus
The question of the "useful value" of resources can be discussed.
Shuhrat 26 Sep, 2022 @ 8:49am
Dear authors of this beautiful mod.
Are you planning to add new resources?
Caracal 3 Jul, 2022 @ 8:11pm
There seem to be a bug interacting with Got Lakes. I started a game with this mod and Got Lakes and around turn 20, I noticed I was getting 57 gpt. "That's not right" I thought ;-). Sure enough, when I moused over the gpt it was 50 gpt for "Monopolies on Luxury resources" I saved and reloaded and it went back to 7gpt but as soon as I hit Next Turn, it went back to 57 gpt.

I turned off this mod and started a game with just Got Lakes and (to the best of my ability) picked the same options and the bugged game. I played about 30 turns and no bug. I also played a game with only this mod, played about 30 turns and no bug. So something is going on. Continuing to test.

This comment about cheese made out of milk just cracks me up, literally the best thing I've read in a long time.
Laurus Nobilis 5 Jun, 2022 @ 1:40pm
but you know that cheese is made out of milk XD
Beserk020 12 May, 2022 @ 4:56pm
@Ryckard I could not get Oceans to work with the more resources mod until I clicked on the Sukritact's Oceans box in the advanced options while setting up a game. It is noted that you must also have the expansions selected to see it. Hopefully this helps you, or at least someone!
Ryckard 28 Apr, 2022 @ 3:24am
I have not been able to get Oceans and Resources to both work. I can get one or the other but never both.
