@ChairmanDavey

There are plenty of comments pointing this out already, the back button is your friend....
ChairmanDavey 28 Jun, 2023 @ 12:31am
I had to uninstall this mod because it prevented me from opening the production screen, which is a shame because I think the idea is really interesting.
Legodudelol9a 27 Mar, 2022 @ 3:35pm
Can someone explain to me how prosperity works?
HomiePhobie 9 Mar, 2022 @ 10:34am
A diverse and tolerant culture isn't inherently good...
Fry McFly 27 Dec, 2021 @ 5:49pm
Oh! So the mod is not as good as you might think? Too bad! I like mods that make the game less static.
Can anyone else confirm these problems / bugs?
sarasosio 19 Nov, 2021 @ 9:49am
For realism, this is a good idea -- especially for folks who like the Freedom ideology, as the concept of alien residents is central to a diverse and tolerant culture.

I've rarely had folks immigrating into my cities, even when my happiness is much greater than my nearest neighbors. Most of the time, my pops emigrate to my neighbors immediately after a growth event even when their happiness is only marginally greater than mine; therefore, the mechanic is nothing but a drain on my own Civ as I'm growing free pops for my competitors. It's a great incentive to keep my happiness as high as possible, but since half the world is a refugee camp for my (allegedly) neglected citizens, I've had to disable this mod.

There's no evidence of production playing any non-negligible role in attracting new pops, in any of my games (even when this is the only mod installed).

Anyone tested this with Vox Populi?
TANQ78 6 Feb, 2021 @ 8:13pm
oh ok
Mk Z  [author] 2 Feb, 2021 @ 9:38pm
TANK78 |HAM MAFIA|, iirc its an average material yield per capita (production, food, gold)
TANQ78 2 Feb, 2021 @ 9:21pm
How is productivity calculated?
ExtraChromosome 24 Mar, 2020 @ 8:07am
will this come out for civ 6
Awdren 3 Mar, 2020 @ 7:32pm
Now all we need is Tourism.
Thirram 2 Jan, 2020 @ 4:15pm
Is it normal to have +20 prosperity on the first turn or is this a glitch?
MappaCrappa 19 Nov, 2019 @ 7:54am
Hello, is it possible that this mod is incompatible with the cultural diffusion mod?
trevorjw333 3 Jun, 2019 @ 11:18am
Loved this mod, bu now its preventing me from choosing production. How can I fix this?
Shogunst-nl 22 Dec, 2018 @ 7:37am
this actually will backfire for having a happy city
EndlessDepression 21 Oct, 2018 @ 5:47pm
@pzee; It doesn't.

This is a really cool idea, I always love to add mods that give a depth of realism even if people want to make it political.

Unfortunately if ran simultaneously with the Vox Pop mod and other overhaul mods it renders city project menus unaccessible. You can't even click it. It took me a while to track the bug down to here.

To add to @Xenovista's comment: It should add unhappiness if the emigrants can't work tiles or in factory/specialty buildings or if they don't have access to education buildings.

Cool idea OP, I wish I knew enough LUA scripting to help you out.
pzee 28 Sep, 2018 @ 9:14am
I don't think this mod works with Vox Populi.
PinkRabbit 26 Jun, 2018 @ 7:05am
Привет, я хочу перевести один мод на русский язык, но у меня кое что не получается, можете мне помочь, пожалуйста?
bigricky 20 Mar, 2018 @ 6:18pm
Xenovista, realism my butt!
Economic Terrorist 17 Jan, 2018 @ 3:50pm
They should generate unhappiness, for realism.
16BitPotato 11 Jan, 2018 @ 9:37am
Sorry if someone asked this before, but is this playable/ balanced with Vox Populi?
chino2468 22 Oct, 2017 @ 12:52pm
It seems to kill off your Pantheon benefits...
Reggin 8 Sep, 2017 @ 2:15pm
Does this mode work with Vox Populi?
Logan Anarcho-Capitalist 15 Aug, 2017 @ 5:39pm
great thanks!
Mk Z  [author] 15 Aug, 2017 @ 8:30am
acrazyblackman, you can download earlier versions from civfanatics:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/emigration.388983/
v4 should work with GnK and maybe even v5, i'm not sure though
Logan Anarcho-Capitalist 14 Aug, 2017 @ 9:26pm
is there a version that doesn't require BNW? #overpriced DLC
Don Julio 28 Jul, 2017 @ 9:34am
This would be a cool mod, but I like to have sit downs with emigrants instead. Force that old BS religion out of them.
rpablo_a 27 Jul, 2017 @ 3:31pm
Can I build a Wall to keep the illegal aliens away?
Rat Inspector 16 Jul, 2017 @ 9:44am
With the most recent update to Brave New World this mod no longer works; emigration function isn't present and it interrupts production script, not allowing player to choose production upon founding cities (which prevents advancing past the first turn)
Mk Z  [author] 6 Jul, 2017 @ 11:32am
avcs1003, when you resettle you dont look at unemployment but at job offers. Even if migration results in the rise of unemployment, it may be because of local people losing their jobs to immigrants. From gameplay point of view, special treatment of unemployed citizens is undesirable because they're controlled by the player and AIs don't know anything about the mod's mechanics.
lobo103 1 Jul, 2017 @ 2:59pm
Is unemployment taken into account? Unemployed citizens should be much more likely to emmigrate, at least internaly. Big cities can be very productive and still have several unemployed citizens. It would not make sense for migrants to resettle in such cities.
👑KeirLoire 31 May, 2017 @ 2:02pm
Can I fork this mod? it is not working with Vox Populi with JFD's (ExCE, RIP, CD, and CID) and I have been receiving errors like this per turn:
Runtime Error: ..\MODS\Emigration (v 6)\Lua\Emigration.lua:21: attempt to call global 'GetProsperity' (a nil value)

It seems it needs an overhaul because it is based on Vanilla Happiness. In Vox Populi, it uses a new happiness mechanics.
Skynet Benefactor 17 May, 2017 @ 5:45pm
Should lower unhappiness. Always has in real history.
Han 17 Apr, 2017 @ 9:08am
There should also be increase in racism and authoritarianist policies in the regions which receive immigration x')

Seriously, those ocmments
Super Earth Fire Department 15 Apr, 2017 @ 7:06pm
there should be a huge increase in crime if take in refugees just like in real life (europe is the r#pe and paedophile center of the world thanks to the refugees)
Waldo 11 Apr, 2017 @ 9:16am
I think tempory unhappiness would be realistic. Not sure about occupied status unless they outnumber the state's citizens though. I don't see any where in history where this has occured without an increase in what the game would consider unhappiness.
Mk Z  [author] 5 Apr, 2017 @ 10:20pm
Waldo, effect is - your civ can lose its religion. Other than that, nothing bad happens. What effects you think would be appropriate? Maybe temporary unhappiness? Or 'occupied' status for cities ridden with immigrants so you'd have to build a courthouse?
Waldo 4 Apr, 2017 @ 2:00pm
So is there no way to have negative effects from refugees like what is happening in the world now? I want this for a modern mod but not sure how to show the horrible effects it has on a society
Mk Z  [author] 5 Mar, 2017 @ 9:04pm
moneymakernj, nope they all are nice people)
Genseric123 5 Mar, 2017 @ 3:23pm
can i build a wall and do they bring crime
Mk Z  [author] 15 Feb, 2017 @ 8:42am
zArkham4269, if that mod doesnt change city screen then yes
zArkham4269 14 Feb, 2017 @ 1:43pm
Is this compatible with gazebo's Community Balance Patch?
Jay 18 Dec, 2016 @ 1:23pm
this seems to be incompatible with Civ 4 Diplomacy Features v10; the prosperity number is replaced with the america icon.
Evil Paragon 14 Dec, 2016 @ 7:02am
This is ridiculous, I have a stupidly high happiness level in the early game on an easy difficulty and all my guys keep emigrating to Polynesia. I can't make any more happiness buildings and I have one city with 3 luxuries, and they are still leaving me! I am running out of people!
enderandrew 4 Dec, 2016 @ 11:37am
If you're using a version of Vox Populi that includes EUI then you will have to delete the UI folder from this mod.
mikeyb 6 Nov, 2016 @ 5:00pm
havent played it yet, but this is mad. add's another depth to the game
Reggin 5 Oct, 2016 @ 6:10pm
Is this mod compatible with CBP/Vox Populi
Tim_the_Texan  [author] 20 Aug, 2016 @ 9:25am
Actually Kdwag, an emigration is leaving your country and immigration is entering the country. So an emigration penalty slows people leaving your country. The only way to slow immigration (without intentially lowering your prosperity score) is to click prevent growth.
