Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to make certain units spawn at the capital when you kill enemies.

Look for the file Civ5UnitPromotions_Inherited_Expansion2.xml which is somewhere in the game's install folder, I searched for it and made a copy. Inside there you'll find the code for the Prize Ships promotion. Skipping that step, the specific code that makes a Promotion add the ability for Units to have a random chance to capture enemies when killed is<CaptureDefeatedEnemy>true</CaptureDefeatedEnemy>

tbh, i didnt get it to work yet. Rn, it only converts barbarian units. which is still better than nothing tho. i couldnt find the code from the prize ships. i have all the dlc's and no idea where to look exactly so after 1 hour searching, my limit for the day was reached. That being said. Do u know if there is also a way than whenever u kill an unit, a "X" type unit gets spawned at the capital? This is how an zombiemod works. i wanted to make a "weak" melee unit that gets spawned when u kill an enemy unit. this makes it less OP but still an basic flood function

I hope you have fun. To be honest I probably would've added that feature to the Flood myself because it makes a lot of sense but I didn't end up doing so for a myriad of reasons, namely that I have other Civilizations with similar play styles, that it wouldn't make sense, (why would tanks infect enemy units?) and that at the end of the day I think having every single Unit you have capable of capturing enemy Units might be just a bit more OP than I'd like for balance. But yeah, go nuts and feel free to mod my mod XD

Shouldn't be too hard to throw together the custom Promotion and then add it to the Flood's units. You could make a client-based modification to your copy of the Flood mod with the custom Promotion or you could make a separate addon that gets added to the Flood Civilization when activated. Either way it should be easy - and if you need help doing it I'll be here for tech support. Heck, I'd do it myself if I didn't have a few other projects to work on.

Well thanks for the response. i will be adding that to it. i love how the flood work in the story's ad find it to bad there arent alot of games in which u can actually be them. so im glad i an play them in this game to some basics.

I should add: Flood melee units. Wouldn't make sense for an Artillery to shoot at an enemy several tiles away then suddenly that enemy is Flood now.

The closest you could get to something like that would be the capture chance ability. Copy the code for the Prize Ships unit promotion that the Ottomans have, and give it to all Flood units. With that, you'll have a random chance to capture an enemy Unit when you kill it, which I guess is pretty close to what you're aiming for.

Could u tell me how to add the feature that when a flood unit kills someone, it spawns a new flood unit? ive been trying to reconstruct it from some zombiemod, but i cant get it to work.

Interesting suggestion. I think the reason I didn't opt for something like that was because I wanted to save the capturing-units ability for Yuri, from Red Alert 2.
Shavy 31 Dec, 2019 @ 5:06pm
K so I just realized the flood can build every unit in the game like a normal civ so like totally ignore what i said i guess
Shavy 31 Dec, 2019 @ 5:05pm
you could give flood units the prize ships promo upon creation giving them a 50% chance to convert units when they are killed. This could be the only way the flood can acquire new units. It also can provide balance to the fact they can shit out units at an insane rate having no maintenance cost for infection forms. Just a small suggestion.

A monument to all our sins.

Honestly I feel like killing other units should produce production for the nearest city, similar to how the Aztecs gain culture by killing an enemy. Kind of makes sense, since the flood always harvest the biomass of slain enemies in order to make more flood.

This civ's trait should be that it gains technology through the conquest of other civs and can't research independently. Or maybe it gains research points by killing other units. Hope someday you might add models, this civ was a brilliant idea.
Jake Micheals 15 Mar, 2019 @ 11:31pm
I would legit give you 50 bucks to add flood models

Go ahead.

I will be honest though, even though I know how to make a new unique unit addon for a Civ and I can basically add in the entire Flood arsenal into the game, my focus has been on making more new Civs rather than adding units for the ones I've already made.

That's not to say it won't ever happen, that's just to say that it's not my focus right now.
Javier NotFound.Tech 7 Aug, 2018 @ 10:33pm
Like for units?
Javier NotFound.Tech 7 Aug, 2018 @ 10:30pm
Can we create a discussion and offer ideas that you could look over later when you desire to add more?
Usernamehere  [author] 5 Aug, 2018 @ 1:13pm
Perhaps at some point. Not right now though.
Javier NotFound.Tech 5 Aug, 2018 @ 1:00pm
@Usernamehere will additional units ever be added in?

anthony 10 Mar, 2018 @ 5:58am
how do i downlode this
WarlordTankMage 4 Mar, 2018 @ 5:42pm
that seems like an amazing idea, maybe when they get kills they recieve 1/2 of the enemies combat strength as science? they do that with gold in the honor tree so i would think it shouldnt be too hard
Eric Carr 4 Mar, 2018 @ 2:53pm
It would be so awesome if there were more Flood units
and possibly something that boosts your tech when you kill something because the Flood gains the knowledge of anything assimilate/infects/kill
Usernamehere  [author] 31 Jan, 2018 @ 5:21pm
You mean the 3D models of the units? Yeah, unfortunately, the Flood are still visually humans throughout the game.
ONI_Section_Three 31 Jan, 2018 @ 5:20pm
Just wondering at the begining of the game is it always the normal human skins?
WarlordTankMage 20 Jan, 2018 @ 11:17am
I play civ vi, and idk why so many people hate it. I think it is better in most ways but that is just my opinion.
Usernamehere  [author] 20 Jan, 2018 @ 9:29am
I probably won't. I don't have Civ 6, and I have no interest in getting it. From what I've heard, it seems like it's way worse than this game to me.
WarlordTankMage 20 Jan, 2018 @ 7:19am
Will you ever make this mod for Civ vi? i play that more now and everytime i do i look up this mod for it, but nothing pops up. Its one of my favorite mods, and i would love it if you could bring it to Civ Vi
Usernamehere  [author] 10 Jan, 2018 @ 12:59pm
To be fair, only the Infection Form should be able to do that, right?

Good to know you're enjoying the mod :D
Andalite 10 Jan, 2018 @ 11:39am
I clicked on this hoping that I'd be able to convert enemy units into my control, but that description is exactly what my playstyle needs, so this is now my first Civ V mod. Cheers!

It's actually quite worth the money...
Usernamehere  [author] 2 Dec, 2017 @ 4:34pm
Are you sure you're not just missing them in the list? The game sorts Civilizations alphabetically by leader name. They're under G, for Gravemind.
solaray4 2 Dec, 2017 @ 4:32pm
Hi I have the mode activated along with the required DLC but i can't find it to play as a flood
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 6:14pm
ah ok so they just being sneaky
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 4:05pm
The Flood just declared their first war in my test campaign.
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 3:57pm
What difficulty is the new game on? They're being friendly to me here too, despite having a different Ideology. They have a very high Deceptive stat. (In case you don't already know, Deceptive is a hidden diplomatic opinion that appears as Friendly to the player but in reality means the AI is being malicious and is looking for an opportunity to backstab or manipulate the player)
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 3:30pm
ok so i started a new game and now the flood is being VERY friendly

youre welcome, i am loving your mods
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 1:20pm
I'll continue my test and see if it could stand to be higher. Right now I'm not playing Civ V though. Thanks for the feedback.
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 12:54pm
id seuggest max it out, because id think the ONLY time the flood would negotiate is under the threat of the halo
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 12:41pm
For comparison, the Zulu's war statistic is 8, and Mongolia is 7.
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 12:40pm
It's at 9 currently, I think the highest is either 10 or 12.
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 12:36pm
can you max out their agression or is it already
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 12:18pm
They made the first denouncement of the game, six turns after the game started, against their neighbor. They also asked me to join them in war.
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 12:15pm
I don't think I've gone long enough for me to give you a good answer, but so far they aren't doing anything really.
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 11:47am
anything?
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 11:27am
I loaded up a game myself to test it out. Let's see if they become super aggressive here.
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 11:14am
and now they are trying to get me to start a joint war
Usernamehere  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 11:03am
Unusual, their war stat is 9 and their Hostile stat is also 9.
HellKat-76 25 Oct, 2017 @ 11:01am
all the flood has done is denouce people and throw some insults while greece is actively being hostile and declaring war
