If a port of a prop, ship, or character already exists from a "Graphically Superior" source (I.E. The current Battlefront games) I likely won't be porting one from from SWG.
Unless in a special case, the model from SWG had a certain "look" or shape, that I prefer; I might modify the Battlefront, model to match the look/style of the one from SWG.
Another example - EA likely won't be putting in anything like the Proton Carbine, or Heavy Weapons from SWG (likely, no longer canon) - most weapons from SWG don't look very good up close in the first place. So for the Proton Carbine, I've modified a G36 Assault Rifle (what the Proton Carbine was based off of), and slapped on a few gadgety things, to make it look more "Star Warsy"... If I release a SWG weapon pack, this will be in it.
