I'll see if I could do that, but yeah the economy is beyond patchable I get you. Also, can't wait for Kenshi 2
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 13. juli kl. 9:12
you are welcome to make a patch for it.
but for me, i stopped development of this mod once i found it acceptable to me.

my next plans are to redo all my mods for Kenshi 2

btw, there are so many different ways to cheese this games economy its not funny.
MazovianBoia 13. juli kl. 7:48
I see your point, but doesn't dried meat undermine this cause being so cheap in comparison? I would like the other food options to be resurrected even if that means dried meat is nerfed to oblivion (maybe a nutritional value of 1 or 2 lmao). Playing with a small party, you can get away with never buying food other than dried meat.

Regarding Garrus, I noticed that regular merchants sell them without a backpack while nomads sell them with backpacks for similar prices. Wouldn't this allow me to run a profit by buying young Garrus from nomads to then sell their backpacks which cost much more than the Garru itself? I feel like the price of a Garru should include the backpack that it's coming with, or, at least, the ratio of the cost of a Garru with a backpack to the backpack's sell value is higher than 1, so unprofitable. What do you think about that?
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 9. juli kl. 4:57
yes, by editing the amount of charges.
but the goal of this mod is to not make things easier or better. its to eat up your money as best it can.
so costly crappy food is part of the plan.
MazovianBoia 9. juli kl. 2:26
First of all, I appreciate your efforts and thank you for this amazing mod. I was thinking since you said earlier that balancing food is tricky due to the items needed to produce them, is it not possible to modify the nutrition value instead? To make the more costly options more viable.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 8. juli kl. 5:16
Garrus have a backpack, though not wild ones.
MazovianBoia 7. juli kl. 21:31
A wandering trader just sold me a garru for about 2800 which came with its own backpack which costs 12,000. Should this be happening?
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 6. juni kl. 14:15
yes it does, it takes longer for all shops to restock. another stop gap measure to prevent fast gathering of cats.
VanEinstein 6. juni kl. 14:04
I don't see it mentioned in the mod information so I have to ask: Does this affect the time it takes for shops to restock? I've been hanging out at a Waystaion and it's been days without a refresh of the vendor stock or money.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 2. jan. kl. 8:59
am sure you will.
took me a long time to try and balance it all so you could make a profit off everything.
hence why it has so many listed updates. took me over 100 game restarts to get it down. since prices only changed after you reloaded/imported the save.
iforgotmysocks 2. jan. kl. 7:17
Gotcha. Wheatstraw seems very valuable, considering you need 5 to create one strawflour, which is about a fifth of the value of a single wheatstraw. I'll let you know if i find any other oddities.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 2. jan. kl. 3:38
i had been experimenting to see if it did anything.
since it did nothing, i didn't bother reverting it back as it wouldn't affect anything.
iforgotmysocks 2. jan. kl. 2:46
Also a bit interesting that it takes some shops 70 days now to refresh their inventory. xD
iforgotmysocks 2. jan. kl. 2:44
Thanks for the effort. I reverted some of your changes (for personal use ofc), as i like to play with significantly reduced sales value for items, so charging 50k for a backpack seemed a bit harsh. Will test the new prices and research speed now!

PS: why did you change the vendor refresh time on all the ruin locations? I don't think that value applies unless it's a trader.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2024 kl. 11:09
so yeah, some thing's wont make sense in how I did it.
but i truly made changes to the entirety of the economy due to changing the base mats prices had a domino effect across the entire thing. one of the more frustrating mods i have made to date.
Serina 22. juli 2024 kl. 11:00
ye, economy was always broken, i appreciate you gave it a decent shot
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2024 kl. 10:57
there is only so much that can be done with the economy.
I had to reload the game nearly 500 times across the map testing prices and such to get it to the point it is at now.
weapons eat more resource's because the sell prices of them barely changed. so they take more to create. which is a side way of raising the cost of making them.

Kenshis economy is kind of wacked and broken to begin with. this is just my version of a band aid.
Serina 22. juli 2024 kl. 10:51
to be clear, don't mind the actual higher end stuff getting more reasonably expensive to make, but the begginer training costs get ridiculously inflated compared to armor crafting and basse weapon crafting balance
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2024 kl. 10:48
it was heavily tested. its working as I intended.
Serina 22. juli 2024 kl. 10:45
What would be the intened balancing point for this? It just feels like it wasn't playtested (fellow modder empathy).
Serina 22. juli 2024 kl. 10:29
difference so big it just looked broken (also the recipe readout not betting updated with)
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2024 kl. 7:22
not a bug, requirements are higher
Serina 22. juli 2024 kl. 5:03
there is a bug with specifically weapon crafting, input gets consumed ridiculously fast for some reason, like, I a recipe that take 5 reources in 6 ingame hours and the 5 tack gets consume in less than a minute, wtf.
axossk 18. juni 2023 kl. 9:02
This mod changes the value of night darkness in GLOBAL CONSTANTS for no reason, messing up with reshades.

Temp fix is to manually disable the key with FCS in the mod file or load this mod BEFORE any mod that changes nights
Manu 30. jan. 2023 kl. 15:39
Then the solution is to reduce drastically the money they have. That way you might trade by buying things so they get enough money to buy the stuff you want to get rid off
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2023 kl. 20:02
there is no way to make them buy only certain things.
that's been one of my complaints about the economy myself.
Manu 29. jan. 2023 kl. 19:43
The reason it is easy to make money in this game is because merchants have a lot of money to buy your stuff. Once you level stealing, which is not hard at all, you can steal weapons form our horny friends in the north (can't recall all town names) and sell them in the hub or to the hive close by. Easy big money. You can repeat the process over and over increasing the things stolen, even get a garru and load it from within.
If merchants had little money you just couldn't sell so much stuff and would HAVE to make your way.
Or, maybe merchants could just buy the same kind of stuff they sell, but that would require a new mechanics.
It makes no sense that they just buy everything you sell them
Noonga 5. feb. 2021 kl. 19:28
Yeah true I did read that before, sucks, but soon all the worlds problems will be fixed, we still got alot of chaos to clear up first, victory for the light. But hey it would be nice if one of those millionaires from crypto currency would help out the unfortunate.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2021 kl. 11:59
I'm not currently able to work on any of my mods atm. I been in a homeless shelter since last march, and they won't let me setup my computer.
Noonga 5. feb. 2021 kl. 7:18
Im not sure if its this mod but you need to fix the value increase in some towns, like Stack, has a random +20% sell and buy increase in shirt shop, meaning you can buy grog for example for normal price and then walk down street to shirt shop and sell for +20% increase profit. that just completely breaks the mechanics of game if you abuse it, which atm i try to ignore. Please fix this, im confused why no one else notices this.......
danime91 10. aug. 2020 kl. 0:00
@Toastie Hey, I ran into this same issue, and after digging through the FCS, I know what the problem is. Basically, the game considers limbs from Western Hive, Southern Hive, and Dead Hive (Fog Men) as separate items, despite them looking the same and having the same name. The research requires Western Hive limbs. If you did what I did and went to the Fog Islands to farm limbs from them, they won't work.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 15. juli 2020 kl. 11:13
Thank you 😊
Toastie 15. juli 2020 kl. 9:43
Jeez that's rough, I'm sorry to hear it. I lost my job due to covid, so I can empathise to an extent. Best of luck getting back on your feet, mods can wait until after then.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 15. juli 2020 kl. 3:26
I'll be back to it in time.
I'm just currently homeless due to covid. So can't work my mods for awhile.
Toastie 15. juli 2020 kl. 2:37
Hey Neko, hope you've been well.

Noticed a bug where Hiver Robotic legs aren't researchable due to the artifact requirement not recognizing Severed Hiver Legs. If you decide to come back to this mod, that'd be a great fix.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2020 kl. 7:09
doing so would require a complete reworking of the mod due to how i got everything setup.
pyatr 31. mar. 2020 kl. 4:32
You should probably decrease the sell value of melee weapons. It's too easy to get by just selling weapons from every schmuck for ~1000 cats.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 10. mar. 2020 kl. 18:10
most welcome
Lance Denton 10. mar. 2020 kl. 17:18
Very much digging your mods that increase game difficulty and length; thank you!
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2019 kl. 7:05
not dead.
i just been doing other games.
DM Patrick 25. sep. 2019 kl. 23:14
No response in nearly a month and no updates since Jan 1. Looks like this mod is dead in the desert boys. Good luck!
DM Patrick 4. sep. 2019 kl. 1:12
With only this mod running I get normal prices in trade shops. I can buy everything in them, just go right across the street to the robotics vendor and he buys everything for either 20% or 29% markup, depending on the store. Is this the intent? Tested in several HN cities and it's like that in all of them.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 13. aug. 2019 kl. 11:38
thanks Shidan. ill be looking into it.
Shidan 13. aug. 2019 kl. 7:54
Looks like you may have accidentally changed them in the prices modifiers, up the in the global game settings. They're set at a 1.3 multiplier, compared to vanilla's 0.4.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 13. aug. 2019 kl. 7:38
the weapon prices shouldn't have changed. i did not mod them.
the building materials are the correct price.
but im always looking into my Mods to see if there are issues i can find.
Fatecheater 13. aug. 2019 kl. 7:29
I did a mod cleanup and run the game with only your mod activated. A Refitted Blade Nodachi can now be sold for around 5000 (in vanilla, it can be sold for less than 2000, I think) and Unknown weapons can be sold for around 500-600 (In vanilla, they can be sold around 100-200). Also, building materials are 21-23 (in vanilla, they are 135-137) and iron plates are 16-17 (In vanilla, they are 153-157). Could you please confirm whether these are intended?
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2019 kl. 21:51
weird
but good that you found it
Fatecheater 12. aug. 2019 kl. 21:44
I've found the conflicting mod - it's my self-made mod that adds a custom race and a new start, which should not edit any item values. It makes no sense but somehow having only this mod and yours active together makes weapons' price 3 times higher... I could find nothing in the change list, though.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2019 kl. 20:34
that would be conflicts with other mods.
As base prices are way smaller then that as i did not change weapon prices.
Fatecheater 12. aug. 2019 kl. 20:27
I started testing this mod with 44 other mods, so I'm not sure if the following is this mod's feature or not (though I place this mod almost at the bottom, just above the Living World and 3x Attack Slot mod). Compared to vanilla, weapons' price is now approximately 300%, while building materials and iron plates are only 12% of vanilla's, some food items are around 10% also (some remains close to vanilla's price). In other words, by looting weapons from enemies, I can get rich much faster than in vanilla because my upkeep (food) is lower while my income (weapons looting) is 3 times higher. Is this the result of a conflict or intended?
