The portraits have stopped working, due to the changes to how species portraits are organized. Sadly I didn't manage to fix that by fiddling around a bit (like I managed to to with another graphical mod, by copying the code another already updated portrait mod used). Probably because this one has multiple portrait types. Flags and name lists are still accessible, however.

@Dukkokun: Please feel totally free to include the whole mod or any files you're interested in, no need to dependencies. This pack IS meant more to be used a collection of modders resources than a complete mod in its own right, so if you want to use anything from it, please go ahead <3

Hi! Are you ok if I include your mod as a requirement/dependency in a large portrait patch (still requiring users of the patch to subscribe to your mod) but modifying some files to include the portraits in the default Paradox categories?

Hmm... I'm not sure. It's generally not recommended but maybe this particular mod would be fine, since Paradox hasn't changed anything species or portrait related in a long time.

@Brick Clifton: I'm afraid that's how the original author structured the portraits. They're technically just different "species" within a single "species class".

As we stated in the description, we have no intention of modifying the content of this mod. It should be treated more as a showcase and a free repository of assets for anyone interested in creating more fleshed-out ME mods rather than a full-fledged experience in its own right.

Think I found a bug? Created a Human Systems Alliance empire, and under the species menu for 'type', it's not humanoid, it's MassEffect. XD I also created a Cerberus empire, same species name, traits, etc., but the Cerberus portrait, and one of the dialogue responses they called me"disgusting MassEffects",think it should've been humanoid or plantoid.

For some reason it thinks the Cerberus humans and SA humans are separate species, despite the same traits, adjectives, everything - is that intended? I read elsewhere empires need to have the same portrait to be considered the same species, which, makes sense, but also sort of not, and that was just a reddit post, not exactly authoritative. When I first encountered the Cerberus humans, the First Contact dialogue was "we're surprised to find lost relatives speaking a dialect", the same text for when the United Nations of Earth discovers the Commonwealth of Man, so it recognizes some kind of shared species..?

With regards to this mod, it's here mostly as a repository of assets for anyone to use, so while we have no plans to expand upon it beyond maintaining current version compatibility, it's not really that maintenance-intensive. Paradox hasn't changed anything portrait-related in a long while.

And on the day of The Patch, Princess looked upon her domain and saw that it was good.

And she saw that most mods did not require updates.

But still yearn did the launcher for the attention of Princess for she had forgotten one mod.

"Oopseth!" Princess exclaimed in boundless embarrassment and she thus spoke to all users upon creation: "To MESP I too bringeth salvation on this day, that it never succumb to the evils of OCD, I herefore bumpeth its supported version to 2.7.*"

And it was (hopefully) good again.

It is "dead" in the sense we don't add new content to it, but we are trying to keep it compatible with the latest version of Stellaris at least n_n

That said, it didn't even need an update this time. I just bumped the version number.
