@Massive Damage The title does say living battery (ALPHA18) not Beta18 that may be why peoples say things. Either that or error from author in title.

can you make another mod just like this but instead pf producing power it would help speed up research.the way it would work is you link this to a research bench and once a person is inside it you would gain like a plus 10 on research speed. lets say you conect a few of them together you create a hive mind or matrix that could research extremly fast. lets say you connected 20 of them together you could then link them to a big screen t.v and increase the joy of all those that use the t.v for joy by like 1000%.

Idea... Add a super computer craftable which simulates life for people when they're in the battery, perhaps as a way to get prisoners to go in willingly. Do they want to be prisoners living in a shit hole or be a rich man in our matrix?

whenever i build a new battery pod the battery pod wont connect to the grid. it just repeats that the power usage and output is zero even though it has an occupant inside and is connected to the main grid

I just like the idea to create some living thing than translate food/ or any resource into energy.
The idea could be extended into a complex mod, offcourse depends if you want make efficient or some short of evil lab complex than capture / create living things for the sake of energy generation or any other amusing idea.

It's not a huge deal, but colonists avoid putting prisoners into this like the plague. I have to forbid the entrances to any other cryptosleep pod before they place them in the batteries.

What does it mean when it says not connected to power? The battery has a person inside and its next to the other batteries but it says not connected to power

@Etherdreamer A Food hopper is a good idea, and how about a trait that people get when they exit it (that is if they get to exit) saying "I was used as a battery..." etc (but with more detail like "I had food force fed to me..." "I couldn't breathe") But the idea of them dieing out is kinda boring if you have a thing were you punishing colonists by converting them for a battery for a day for eating the last lavish meal or something.

Imo the life force should end in some point, so the body will turn into a dry carcass.
Suggestion:
Add a switcheable energy generation till the body energy runs out.
Example
Low: Last a year
Medium: last 182 days
High: Last 91 days
When the time ends, the skeleton will not generate any energy anymore.
Unless you want turn into more like Matrix, you could add a food hopper to feed them and it will last till it die of old age?
