Oh no it does crash now D: sorry about that. This was built from such an old version of GM and they changed the way some things work. I am trying to get a new version up since the game has changed so much over the years.

It will be mostly A to B levels with some short branching paths that lead to upgrade items. Each zone will be its own contained group of rooms with a start and end goal room. There will still be a zone select menu thing. I really hope to get a new demo out soon since its almost nothing like this game now haha

So from what I've seen on your Tumblr the game is gonna be more of a Metroidvania-esk game?
Will we still have some Super Meat Boy level/challenges tho?
I love both A to B, and Metroidvania-like levels.
But i think some cool A to B challenge levels would be a cool idea.
So the full game still has something from this early demo :P
Also since you talk about "zones" will that mean we'll have a "zone select" or hub?
Or will all zones be connected in one big world?

I am getting this problem as well. It probably has something to do with the release of GM:S 1.2. The only way I can fix it is to hurry up and release the new version, but it could take some time.

this wont play the levels. the title screen and menus work but when i go to start a level it goes blank and wont do anything. on the forest level sound worked but it was still blank

Eventually... haha I have no idea the whole game is basically broken right now as I am switching all the levels to my own level editor. The level editor itself isn't finished yet either.

I will definetly put this on greenlight as soon as I have enough done to create a decent trailer. I have also added a few more options that will hopefully reduce the lag on some computers.

btw when you are done with the demo and begin making the full version is it gonna be on steam greenlight? (i'll vote for it and buy it :D)

Yeah it sounds like lag. The game should be running at 60fps and respawning should be in just under a second. Are you using a controller or keyboard? If you could tell me some of your PC's specs it could help me improve the game's performance.

what i mean is that when you win you get this YOU GOT A MEDAL thing where you just stare at it for awhile (it might just be my pc lagging) i wish you could skip little things like that *things that happens again and again* just so you can speed it up abit (and the count down thing is just so you know when you spawn because it doesn't feel like super meat boy respawn *almost instant respawn* again it could be my sh%ty pc)

leaderboards are possible, but I can't promise that they will be in the game as of yet. What do you mean by "skip things"? And by countdown you mean like a "3...2...1...GO!" type of thing? I will definetly add something like that, but of course it will only show up on your first attempt at the level.

thanks for the reply and yeah i saw that it doesnt save good i only 100% the first world can't wait to be able to save btw are you putting in a leaderboard? (i see you also have plans to make so you can save your replay's THIS GAME IS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!) and ´´i'd`` like if you could skip things and maybe a count down or something when you start a level

You get a coin refund if you beat a skipped level and you keep the powers you buy forever.

Just so you know, there is no way to save progress yet, but I will update this demo with some new stuff and the ability to save. It will be about a month though.

this is a good game! but i have a question: if you buy something (or skip) to beat a level can you go back and beat that level normally and get your money back? (or do you keep the power forever if you buy it?... i should really have tested this before asking...)

Game sound for me are quite bad , the graphic assets are nice, its seems leatly there is a lot of games that are base on this "jumping survival style ?" . So i feel like is quite repetive now days after playing many games of these type. But i like the asstetics and gameplay is not bad(played 15 min of it )

one little thing to add about the game: everytime i go to the forest ocd(i skipped the normal :P) it starts lagging like hell on my pc.
just wanted to inform you that you had done the impossible, you have created a gamemaker game with lag in it. good job

Hey js.jab it sounds like you need to setup up some IF statements (use variable tests), so your character knows if its airborn or on ground, also you need to make sure your boundaries are solid and that you have set your depths correctly.

@Corngamer: who said I started this game in 2009? Where are you getting that from? I was in fact started in 2012. The original Eye Attack was a game I completed in 2007 and this is a remake made from scratch that showcases all I have learned since then.

Hey man, this game has been in development since 2009? and it's been entered into a competition? That is quite unfair, even Caiys game that was made in 2010, this is suppose to be a joyous celebration of making something new, to test your abilities and to enjoy a challenge, not just to upload old work, It's not bad though.

This game is ridiculous. Everything seems so polished. The art, the controls, the lighting, the options, the after-level replay...Seriously, how did you even do the after-level replay? It didn't even feel like I was playing a GM game. Great work.
