In order for the mod to work for you, you need to roll back Black Mesa to the beta version of the surface tension update (cu3)
To do this, right-click on Black Mesa in your library - properties - Beta versions and select the one you need.
For those who do not understand what the Custom folder is - This is a folder for your reskins and models for the game itself, just create a Custom folder in the hl 2 folder and push the necessary files there according to the instructions.

Для того чтобы мод у вас заработал нужно откатить Блэк Мезу до бета версии surface tension update(cu3)
Для этого правой кнопкой по Блэк Мезе в вашей библиотеке - свойства - Бета-версии и выбрать нужную вам.
Для тех кто не понимает что такое папка Custom - Это папка для ваших рескинов и моделей для самой игры, просто создайте в папке hl 2 папку Custom и запихните туда необходимые файлы по инструкции.
Надеюсь кто нуждался тем помог, чтобы сразу в глаза бросалось что делать.

I've been setting up mods for years and i cant get it to work. i can get to the menu but thats it.. I know it's free and I appreciate that but can you make it a bit easier to work. I know the models need to be installed first ie.. HECU's stuff. Help..

I'm sure I followed all of the instructions but I could still play the regular game after launch. The mod's loading screen showed up, though. If someone can tell me how to fix this so I can play the mod, I'd appreciate it.

Was able to launch the mod by reverting Black Mesa to Surface-tension-update(cu3)
However strongly recomend to decrease some video options before launching the mod.
Especialy shaders.
First map played pretty smoth, however second map loaded fine but crashed with "out of memory error" in about 10-60 seconds after start.
P.S. i7-860 (145x20 = 2.90 GHz), GTX 1050ti, 16gb ram 1600 MHz (4x4gb 11-10-10-30)

INSANITY TIME just copy normal gameinfo.txt change it with this one and after you done playing the mod, put the old gameinfo.txt. I've done it and my game normally works

В общем намучился с этим файлокопательством. Запускаю игру и это обычная Black Mesa, хотя при загрузке был фон Black Ops. Порылся в коммах, увидел что в консоль нужно написать map bmo_map_1. Окей, сделал, загрузка и вылет. Нафиг этот мод, пойду что нибудь другое на YouTube запишу...

Почему я должен заниматься ерундой, вместо того чтобы просто установить мод и играть? Почему другие моды делаются нормально, просто кинул папку с модом в sourcemods перезапустил Steam и играй, а тут хернёй страдай
