The emotes stop working if you reload a level that you are currently in.

I've noticed on reload of a scene, the emotes don't always play and I have to reset NPCs. Anyone else have this issue?

I've re-published a modified version of this mod called 'Vilerian's JRavens II Update'. If you object JRavens I'll of course immediately remove it.

Hey JRaven do you intent on coming back to Definitive? I used your mod's religiously and it was such a good additon. The new DE version enables even scripts for DE to use so your emotes and everything could finaly work fantastic! it would be a gift to the community and especially for me. Thank you for some wonderful moments in my gm campaign.

I really really hope the emotes get fixed. I've just started making my own campaigns for friends and man do the NPC's feel lifeless without them.:steamsad:

They are still working as skills, though there is another good mod for this - Bag of Emotions.
I've spent some time trying to fix statuses, but with no success yet.

Wow... This is so awesome and adds much more life to my story. But I refuse to actually start my story because the emotes won't work. Any idea when a fix can happen? Im just super curious.

It seems as if the events this mod is listening for are no longer firing. I have similar issues with my own mods in GM mode. I have spoken to larian about this, so hopefully it'll be fixed in the future.

Well, I'm not the creator of this mod, just random guy who visits this page occasionally, waiting for updates myself. Because IMO these two mods by JRaven are the best mods for GM.
Unfortunately, JRaven is not visiting his mod's pages for some time.
From the script point of view it looks ok, something like:
"when character gets status X, apply animation Y"
Why this simple logic could stop working? I have no idea. I think only developers could find the reason.

Open skill list and filter it by requirements: None. There you will find Emote skills. Assign them to a NPC like a normal skill and then you can activate it during posession. Cool thing you can assign them to PCs as well, thus giving them a way to roleplay not only with the voice.

Does anyone know what effect or material was used for the Ghost FX? I for the life me can't recreate it in my own mod, but really wanted to use it for a custom status I was making. The closest I can get to still looks a little off, and doesn't remove the black outline of the character frame.

Yes, as I mentioned before, the only way to use emotes now is via emote skills.

Great mod, but I dislike how generating equipment for traders applies stats to gloves and boots such as "Set fortified" or "Set grounded." is there a work around? Is this actually supposed to happen?

Bad news, guys. After the yesterday patch emote statuses stopped working. The ones that you've assigned before this patch are still working, until cancelled though. Also, skill-emotions are still ok.
But still, emote statuses have more options and is the much more convenient tool. I hope JRaven will find a time to take a look what's wrong there.

Though beware, there is a lot of bugs there, better check the comments first.
Emotes statuses worked for me pretty well.

Also curious if it would be possible to add in story characters into these mods? I haven't seen anyone do it before, but it would be cool to have access to story characters or at least use their assets

For some reason I can't get anyone to emote. I know your FAQ says it won't loop, but I can't get them to do it even once despite seeing the option.

Hi @JRavens, how's it going? just dropping by to say hi and wish you Best Luck with the job-hunt. It's now scientifically proven that you respond faster than Larian customer service, and you do make the efforts we've seen to answer questions, replicate people's problems and crashes to fix them, so I was thinking like... man, Larian should be actually PAYING you! Really, since they don't bother to add these features themselves, why not hire you to do it? They are now a successful studio, but it seems like the GM Mode is not something they feel needs to be improved at all, which is a pity (and the reason my vote went to others for the Game Awards). After all, MANY people have only bought DOS2 strictly for the GM mode. If one day Larian comes to care about the GM Mode or wants to know how to improve it, all they have to do is hire you! Really, great job.

Another suggestion I want to make: Is it possible to make some system for Items to give status effects on equip? Like the loot from the Black House basement. I want to give my players a helmet that applies enraged while worn, I know I could just apply the status to them directly, but it does break the immersion a bit.

Ok thanks, that's fixed now, I thought I was supposed to be activating from the main menu. I can't see Erratic Wisp anywhere though, is that going to be added in the future?

Have you selected mods in the GM campaign settings or in the Mods in the main menu? They shouldn't be unticked anyway, but the Mods in the main menu works only for the main campaign, not GM mode.

So for some reason, whenever I open a campaign, all my mods get turned off. I can enable them in the mod list, quit the game, come back and they are still on, but If I open a campaign, none of the mods work and when I go back to the main menu I find all of the mods have been unticked. Anyone have a solution or have encountered this before?

UPDATED -

Mod has been updated. Added magic and non-magic versions of leather belt, plate belt, simple rope belt, blindfold, bicorne hat (the one Beast wears in the campaign) and steampunk-ish goggles. Also added several new magic rings.

Animation looping on EMOTES is still sadly still broken as of the last patch. Most animations will only run once and require you to reapply the emote status to get them to play again. Sorry I don't have a working solution for this yet.

Unfortunately yeah the globals.lsf file is an encoded XML file that contains every object in every level of your campaign so sadly if it's gone... then basically everything is gone :(

Given that it's entirely possible the engine updating / crashing *could* have corrupted your campaign I would wait a little while until things smooth out. Even I am waiting to finalize my mod to v1.0 until I see that everything is working again post patching. It's just too unpredictable this weekend. Might be best to even wait another week or two.

Thanks for putting all this effort into this. You really didn't have to but it just shows your dedication. For that you should be commended.

Now, for the eventual new campaign ... should I wait a bit before this whole 'new patch situation' is sorted out or is it safe to begin immediately with your mod?

Ehhhh your globals.lsf file that contains all of your levels is completely nulled out. It's 530 KB of zeros. I think we found your problem :(

Unfortunately I don't think it's just the Vignettes. I did try and remove them (and Vignettes.lsf) and the campaign still would not load. I've a sneaking suspicion all of the campaign files were corrupted somehow, but I'm still looking into it for you. Probably won't be until later in the weekend until I come back with anything I'm afraid.

I do NOT see any thumbnails and not a single one of them displays an image when opened in various ways - just an error message. A bunch of them is custom ones taken from the internet. I don't know if that can cause problems.

I'll see what I can do. There is a lot of complaining going on over in the Larian modding forums that the patch broke people's mods... Larian just released a hotfix for the patch to fix things it broke LOL so here is hoping I can get things working again ;)

@Autological - thank you for sending me a copy of your mod. I did try to load it and it crashed for me as well so I am trying some various experiments, but I noticed some corruption in your Vignette files. The .jpgs won't display. This has me wondering if all your files got corrupted somehow (though I couldn't say specifically HOW that would have happened).

Can you do one more experiment for me? Go into your campaign folder and into the Vigenette subfolder. Do you see thumbnails in there of your Vignette images? Can you double click any of them and do they open them in Windows Photo Viewer? If you have any other image viewing software (gimp, photoshop, etc) can you open any of those .jpgs in that software?

I'll continue to tinker with your files and see if I can convert any of them so I can look through them and try and find an answer.

New update seems to have broken looping and even playing on a lot of animations :(

@Warfare - thanks I'll take a look. Maybe the new update broke my hack to loop animations (or I missed them for the Human Male somehow... it's possible those archetypes have their own animation waterfalls too which use different animations)
