Would it be possible to make a version of this asset but without gravel texture (dirt only) It would make a perfect "desire path" or "walked out path" in the grass.

The texture has a bunch of weird spots in it whenever i place it on a slope

Was looking for something exactly like this, thank you sooooo much!!

Honestly I really like how it looks on slopes. How often do you find a perfectly maintained trail anyway? Almost every one I've hiked has had spots where it has a nice surface and other spots that are very narrow and overgrown.

I tried to edit this to make it look good on slopes but nothing worked
i'll just add steps i suppose

bummer about this not drawing well on slopes. would be so great to have a nice hiking path in the mountains

I have been looking for this. Thank you for creating it. I do not know what took me so long to find it.

@Big Bad Nonja - This is found in the pedestrian path menu.

Hiling Trail or as we call them in the business - Wishway.Great in towns and cities.

I'd love a 1/2 wide bike path and 1/2 wide paved path too with no street lights, if you're at all taking requests :) Such simple narrow paths are needed.

@aubergine18 Yes, when the path is made small like this the gravel texture doesn't render fully. Most of the path is actually the ruined texture. I think of the gravel patches as making the path seem a little more like a trail rather than a well maintained gravel path.

Tried this for mountain paths, but I get weird diagonal patches of gravel for some reason?
ne0n 22 Oct, 2017 @ 7:27pm
Thanks a lot! :D It's just what I needed for my Alp map
Czardus  [author] 22 Oct, 2017 @ 10:05am
@Nolombic - I think I can make a version with lights. I'll look into that.
nolombic 22 Oct, 2017 @ 10:02am
@M-ito I looked in the editor, but it's pretty complex.
And I also noticed what you mean with the sploches. I guess making it only with gravel instead of concrete makes more sense.
But can you also make a version of this with lights? Or would that also not work?
Czardus  [author] 22 Oct, 2017 @ 8:38am
@AquilaSol - Yes, I was thinking the same thing!
AquilaSol 22 Oct, 2017 @ 8:08am
Perfect!
Also very useful for making desire paths. (Those are the shortcuts and paths created by people walking over grass or sand to quickly get somewhere when the actual path is not placed in a logical spot.)
CitizenWMustache 21 Oct, 2017 @ 12:12pm
Simple but effective idea!
@Nolombic I've tried recreating this with a concrete base instead of gravel. It can be done, but it does look strange. In fact, you can barely see the 'splotches' of gravel in the first screenshot of Czardus' hiking trail. Imagine that but with the higher contrast concrete.

In short: Possible, but there's rendering limitations.
nolombic 21 Oct, 2017 @ 8:33am
Awesome! But could you also make it with the aspalt way or yould it look strange and messy?
KittyClaw 21 Oct, 2017 @ 7:51am
Cool!

FINALLY!!! We have been lamenting with width of pedestrian paths since day 1! Thank you for this :D
Mntoes 21 Oct, 2017 @ 5:47am
Nice Idea.
hadece 21 Oct, 2017 @ 1:40am
yes! I already wondered if that's possible.
Fredval 20 Oct, 2017 @ 11:17pm
I have been waiting for this ! Thank you!
