Have I already said how much I love this mod?

Every time we pick up a new renaissance piece with my ensemble, chances are that i've already heard it here :P

oh god that arm strain. That is a good violinist
adevin  [author] 16 May, 2021 @ 8:45pm
I just updated to current version. I held off a while since the game was unplayable, lol. I also readjusted my last baroque update to have better volume. I removed a vivaldi song.. it was this one by Voices of Music and amazing violinist Alana Youssefian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V6HpGCmId0

While good, it was simply too interpretative. I also have to give credit to Voices of Music for a lot of my baroque update. They use real period instruments! Check out their channel, and maybe pass them some money since they are fundraising: https://www.youtube.com/c/VoicesofMusic

I had been working on a Baroque update for a while, and finally posted it today. Baroque used to have 116 songs and I added 76, bringing it up to 192. Or, another 300MB. I felt like I had to do a big update, to do justice to Baroque. I know this is the part of the game it tends to get stale as well, So the music needed a real refresh. At least for me! I also switched some other things out or around. I won't list it because of limited comment space. One thing I will say, I was so close to finally adding pachelbel's canon. Then backed off at the last second, lol.

@adevin thank you very much:steamthumbsup::mailedfist:
adevin  [author] 14 Jan, 2021 @ 6:20pm
@Professor Monty

I found it on the album concert of viols, english viol.
Full title was: 02 Anonymous - Allemande and galliard (from Lumley books)
I haven't looked up whatever the Lumley books are but there's a clue
Professor Monty 14 Jan, 2021 @ 12:54pm
anyone know what the actual name for the song "allemande and galliard"?

Also made a small adjustment to classical in the meantime. I removed 'Le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse' since I thought it was from the napoleonic wars but it's actually from the franco-prussian war. Then I added Rossini's 'Largo al Factotum' instead.
adevin  [author] 21 Oct, 2020 @ 6:53pm

@Professor Monty

I'm pretty sure I found it on youtube, but I looked again and can't find it now. maybe the video was taken down
Professor Monty 19 Oct, 2020 @ 10:48am
does anyone have the version this mod uses of in tua memoria by arnold de lantins?
Alatriste 5 Jul, 2020 @ 8:17pm
Taking the time to write down here to thank the mod author. This mod is the SHIT man! An absolute must have!!! :KneelingBow:
Alzen 16 Jun, 2020 @ 1:28pm
Does anyone know if this mod is compatible with Dynamic Cultured Music ? I love both of them and I would hate to have to choose between these two.
Insmarechale 15 Jun, 2020 @ 9:59pm
can anyone please tell me the name of the mod's main menu theme? it's so good and idk the name of it
Bill "Balls deep" Clinton 18 Apr, 2020 @ 4:49am
yeah man I understand, still appreciate the your work, thx
adevin  [author] 13 Apr, 2020 @ 12:37pm
Yeah, I might revert that change and just let people set the mod priority in the launcher if there are conflicts. I'm also pretty sure that when the new launcher stuff rolled out they increased the size for mods on steam. So it might be possible to pack it all into one big mod instead of 5 separate mods. I think that's what I'll try when 1.30 comes out. I wish I had the motivation to continuously keep the songs refreshed as well, since even though there are hundreds of them they get old like anything else. Maybe this so-called european update will inspire me again, lol, although the game is pretty tired at this point.
Bill "Balls deep" Clinton 13 Apr, 2020 @ 9:53am
damn bro now have to uncheck all those "great" vanilla songs
adevin  [author] 5 Nov, 2019 @ 6:07pm
Thanks! I should add if you have a bunch of music DLC too, it's simpler to disable them in the launcher than the individual songs in the game.
HeadlessZombie 5 Nov, 2019 @ 5:05pm
I did not think of that, thanks for the help. Cheers for the great mod adds much enjoyment to the game!
adevin  [author] 5 Nov, 2019 @ 3:45pm
That was a change I made, to no longer overwrite the music. It helps to work with other mods. To remove the default soundtrack just open the music player (buttons in the top right) and un-check the songs.
HeadlessZombie 5 Nov, 2019 @ 3:37pm
I just redownloaded the mod and it seems that the default music is still in the rotation, I do not remember that being the case before? Is there a way to get rid of the default music?
adevin  [author] 5 Nov, 2019 @ 12:18pm
it should work, unless the launcher says it's incompatible. then the general solution is unsubscribe/resubscribe.
HeadlessZombie 1 Nov, 2019 @ 6:09pm
Any one have a clue of how to get this working with 1.29, I am dying for my historical music fix?
adevin  [author] 20 Sep, 2019 @ 3:30pm
Ok, after much difficulty I got the version number changed so the mod doesn't show up in the stupid pop-up window. Apparently the version info in the files made by the launcher is incompatible with the game? lol. No idea if it will still work after uploading, or if paradox is yet to iron that out somehow, but i updated again anyway.
Snowblind 20 Sep, 2019 @ 12:16pm
Hey adevin,
it somehow says that the mod isnt compatible.
adevin  [author] 17 Sep, 2019 @ 4:36pm
I think it worked? Not a fan of the new launcher but it does seem like they fixed the issues on the back-end with uploading/downloading mods.
adevin  [author] 17 Sep, 2019 @ 2:07pm
Since they re-did the whole launcher and mod uploading, i might be able to update this one again. I'll give it a try and see later today
Scorten 17 Sep, 2019 @ 10:51am
Could you please re-release your mods on Steam? Me and many others would really appreciate it!
adevin  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 9:18pm
Well, I know this mod isn't for everyone. Even people who like classical music could be turned off by the authentic ancient music, or my choices. I acknowledge the euro-centrism problem, because the mod only makes sense in Europe. But if you can look past those things, I think this mod offers great immersion on the auditory level. Again, something which matters to some more than others. It's essential for me, personally. And while I put the mod together the real credit goes to all the composers and performers who bring them back to life.. Everything from the Early music consort of london to people who pick up their lute and upload to youtube.
ZeuS 7 Aug, 2019 @ 7:20am
You saved me the trouble of doing this myself. This is a fantastic, absolutely essential, mod. Thank you.
adevin  [author] 1 Aug, 2019 @ 6:12pm
update to the google drive version:
Since it was requested, added Elisabeth-Jacquet de la Guerre to Baroque.
finally found a baroque pappenheimer (this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVANiI1nqDg )
adevin  [author] 25 Jul, 2019 @ 12:52pm
Some bad news for my eu4 mods. I recently switched to a new PC, and no it's not that it broke down and i lost the files or anything like that. it's that EU4 only lets you update the same mod from the same PC. So I have to re-publish them instead of updating. I've had this problem before, but got around it by restarting steam, wiping the mod folder, the usual tricks. But not this time. So add that to the list of annoying EU4 workshop issues. I will continue to update the non-steam version for now. And if there is any demand, post a new instance of the mod.
adevin  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 2:43pm
I'm glad! Once the new version of eu4 hits I will update again, hopefully it will continue working for you. I don't have much of an update.. Since a few people told me they changed the main menu music back to the original, I did it myself and found I liked it. The pavanne la battaile was getting old since this mod is going on 2 years. I also made Scarlatti's Fandago less blown out and ass sounding. Sorry. For a bit of trivia about this mod, I used the same filter on everything (Pristine on Stereotool winamp plugin) but the harpsichord sonatas. I have to give them their own special treatment
susannag 5 Jun, 2019 @ 1:51pm
Oh thank heavens; it is working again. I have no idea what changed, or where.
susannag 26 Mar, 2019 @ 11:30am
Still not working properly. I give up.
sylandro 2 Mar, 2019 @ 7:04pm
The songs are included now, thanks!
adevin  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 6:11pm
I updated the problem files in baroque, renaissance, and re-uploaded medieval for good measure. Hopefully everything is working. Let me know otherwise. Apologies to those with metered connections.

One way to know for sure all the files are there is if when you start a new game or load a save, it switches to music appropriate for the era right away. If the main menu music (or no music) is continuing to play instead, one or more of the songs is missing or has some issue.
sylandro 2 Mar, 2019 @ 4:56pm
You're right about pavane la bataille :)

I wanted the old main theme back so I manually edited the definition file, my bad.
adevin  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 4:55pm
pavane la bataille is actually maintheme.ogg. I think if the others have problems it is due to special characters, although it works on my end they might be getting screwed up in the upload. I will try a rename and reupload. thanks for pointing it out. i really need to try downloading the mod in user form myself to see if there are any issues, maybe i could use my laptop.
sylandro 2 Mar, 2019 @ 4:43pm
You need to rename the following files from the mod, because it seems like they're not being included into the zip file when uploaded into the workshop (I see their definitions but can't find them in any zip):

Mon Dieu la belle Entree
Susato, Tylman - Pavane La Bataille
Schutz, Heinrich - Die Himmel erzahlen die Ehre Gottes
Schutz, Heinrich - Das Wort ward Fleisch
adevin  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 11:52am
ok. I just updated renaissance, too. I hadn't touched it in a while and it had a bit of space, so i maxed it out. There's 167 songs in renaissance alone now, because they are comparatively short.

Songs Added:
Attaingnant, Pierre - Basse Danse
Attaingnant, Pierre - Two Pavans
Byrd, William - Earl of Oxford's March
de Manchicourt, Pierre - Vidi speciosam
Gibbons, Orlando - Glorious and Powerful God
Isaac, Heinrich - Alla battaglia
Lappi, Pietro - Canzon a 9
Lappi, Pietro - Canzon a 13 La Monteverde
Lawes, William - Divisions on a Pavan
Mainerio, Giorgio - Ungaresca
Priuli, Giovanni - Canzona prima a 12
Senfl, Ludwig - Ach Elslein, Liebes Elselein
susannag 1 Mar, 2019 @ 11:18am
I think I'm going to delete all of them, and let the subscribe feature load them again, and see what happens. I have plenty of space on my C drive.
adevin  [author] 28 Feb, 2019 @ 6:24pm
Ok. I think the base part of the mod is there. So they are all 00:00? like, nothing plays even on random shuffle instead of contextual shuffle? or on later bookmarks/dates? that would mean all of the music packs have failed somehow.. you would think at least one would work. maybe your archive is corrupt? All I know is it works for me, and I uploaded it as it is. Try opening those zips i mentioned before and see if you can see the files inside?

I'm not sure what else could be wrong. How is the space on your C drive? EU4 uses some really old method of keeping all the mods in my documents. I don't like it because i try to keep that drive for OS stuff only. But, it also helps modding because you can easily find the mods there and they aren't named shit like 2349567780160 like in other games on steam.
susannag 28 Feb, 2019 @ 2:28pm
The songs are listed, but no songs, including those in the base game, will play. The player is entirely useless. (The main theme plays in the selection screen, though.)
adevin  [author] 27 Feb, 2019 @ 12:49pm
When you say disables music player, there are no songs at all in the playlist?
susannag 27 Feb, 2019 @ 12:33pm
I do like mods but this doesn't work with A. just base and everything except Medieval; B. all of it including Medieval. In either case, with an otherwise vanilla game. (Music does work in just vanilla.)
