@TheSilverInfinity since Japan is forbidden to have a real military, the Kuratas can only be sold as heavy law enforcement gear or as equipment for private protection services, as either private corporations or for someone who wants one to protect themselves without having to hire a trained pilot.

The only other person who would really buy this, considering it's (under certain technicalities) illegal to lethally reaponize this mechsuit, is someone who's either really into Pacific Rim or a diehard fan of the BattleTech (MechWarrior) franchise and has the money to purchase one of these.

the irl version is technically military-grade, but since WW2, Japan's not allowed to have a military, unless they want to violate their peace treaty with the US, so this mech was repurposed for law enforcement units and anyone with enough money to afford a glorified high-tech paintball suit, which is literally what the Kuratas is.

However, this thing gan reach a top speed of approx. 18mph, and with the right modifications, can hold its own against mechs of over twice it's size. Kuratas may be small (only about 2.5x the height of the average human), but it is by no menas weak. You see one of these rolling down the street, pray that the pilot's not ordered to hunt you down.

The original model was equipped with dual inline wrist-mounted machineguns, and a x20 SRM (Short Range Missile) pod on one shoulder (refitted to use bottle rockets instead of live rounds, as per the peace treaty between Japan and the US)
