I have several conflicting research on this. Some souce call it Schutze, some Grenadier, some Soldat. Since the original title DOI used is Soldat, I've decided to go with that.
If anyone could clarify the difference between those titles, I would really appreciate it!
If you already have this mod installed, you will notice that you have been promoted!
I agree completely with your information. However, since following DOI original title would cause the amount of stripes to skip around, I decided the change the title of the ranks as well.
If you look at the second picture (the table one) on the right most column, that's the rank title and insignia this mod changes to.
Feldwebel should have 3 stripes (becuz DOI skipped Unterfeldwebel)
Oberfeldwebel should have 4 stripes (no 5 becuz DOI skipped Stabsfeldwebel)
Oberleutnant it should have 2 stripes and a flower thing at the top
Hauptmann should have 3 stripes and a flower thing
Major should have a stripe but 2 flower things at the top
Oberst should have 3 stripes and 2 flower things
otherwise i think its correct :/
I cross referenced multiple sources and all I have come across seem to agree with these insignia/title match up (for sleeves).
@Animefreak As far as I understand it, the SS used the same sleeve insignia and only differ in collar inisignia. My apologies if my research was wrong.
Yay, I'm not the only one bothered by the original ranks! :P
It's actually my fault. I didn't really make it clear that the mod doesn't affect arm patches in the original description (I edited that in later).
While I do plan to update it to affect arm patches, I don't think I'm going to attempt that until the devs actually fixed current issues with the patches.
Not sure what you mean by that, but if you're implying that I'm a hypocrite, then you're wrong, I put the essential information in the description my mods and it's really tiring to see people asking question that they can answer themselves just by reading the description.
Maybe I should release my future mods with cryptic messages then, probably the description but it's encoded in base64.
Nifty mod btw. Always liked those high rank German patches.
utterly tired of you people
