Go to the save location of your steam workshop content (normally its something like: ... steamapps\workshop\content\281990\1181696971) the numbers indicate the game and "modpacks" so to say
Open the folder and you should see a german_empire_portrait.zip file. Open it (with winrar or whatever)
Go to common -> gfx -> portraits -> portraits -> here you should see the textfile 01_imperialgerman_portraits.txt
Open the textfile with any text-editor
Use the replace function of the editor to change ALL instances of hair_selector to attachment_selector
SAVE the file and YES save the change inside the compiled file if asked
You are now done and can choose the German Imperials as a new option
This mod is non-ironman because Portraits and nameslists change the checksum. Yes, that's how retarded paradox is
Jokes aside: It's still fully compatible. and all Expansions are Optional. The new Launcher just wouldn't allow me to update.
Downside of this change is that a re-selection of the Portrait for any Species/Empire using it will be necessary. It might also possibly break savegames due to that. If so let me know, I'm confident we'll find a solution then.
\common\species_classes\01_imperialgerman_species_classes.txt
if another mod changes the same archetype, one has to manually patch it on the overriding mod
I'm sorry I can't really help here. I'm not exactly into modding and usually only restrict myself to Name Lists. This one here was an exception as I used to be a huge fan of the Original Imperial German Portraits Mod which got abandoned quite early in 2016 and finally broke with 1.8. All I did was to recompile one Text-File in order to make it compatible to Synthetic Dawn and the Humanoid Species Pack.
It does not replace human Portraits, but adds a separate set of portraits in the Humanoid Category.
All you need to do is switching out your Race Portrait in the Menu or in the save-files if you want to change it during a running match (which I do not recommend)
