I've tried SFO and this mod together, me and my friend haven't crashed or desynced at all, so far. (100 settlements captured each)

i described how to modify yourself the file so you can open and modify the SFO version if you are up to it ^^

=> i do not affect grudges in any ways, it shouldnt be affected at all, so its a compatibility problem or another mod
=> i never tried to use 2 startpos mod as one always overwrite the other, or they both conflict, its very risky to do so and never healthy

Also imo you should add in the description that this mod needs to be above other startpos mods to work as that's probably why other people have had problems with this mod not working

There's a small bug I've found with this mod, where it removes all starting grudges from dwarf factions in head to head

updated for silence and fury patch !

=> affect all playable factions

=> changed objectives to 333 regions ! (there are 353 regions on the map)

=> edited image and description to reflect the changes

1=> how many mods do you have ?
2=> do you have EXACTLY the same mods ?
3=> do you have EXACTLY all the mods in the SAME ORDER (very important and usually forgotten by players !)

hi there, me and my friend have downloaded the mod but it says we are running on two different versions. On the top right it says (modded) but for him, that message didn't pop up for him but he has enabled it. Thanks

Yeah it is just me being pedantic, regions can be lost too, so technically it can go forever I suppose, but yeah 300 is more than enough really (or 333 sounds good), no worries.

@Twitchey i think you dont understand that putting 300 or 900 has the same effect
the map contains around 310 regions so... no probs ^^
and in my lastest update i have even put 333 as objectives so you can be sure its impossible to get ^^

Works a treat. Started a new campaign and the turns updated as expected. Don't understand the 3 stars considering its regularly kept up to date and has a responsive developer.

There is a tool called Save Parser. You can edit a lot of stuff but not go into it manually like with an editor - you only can change predefined values.

this mod edit the "startpos" file:
=> objectives are given from start and saved in your savegame
=> my mod needs to be installed before starting a campaign as it edits the starting position of each playable faction (= objectives)
=> CA coded thier game that way: objectives are given at start and then saved in your campaign saved file

in other words, if you want to modify an already started campaign, you need to edit your and your friend's savefile (its heavily harder as it needs hex editors and you have to know where to look, which i totally dont know)

NB: there are probably "save editing" tools or tutorials, its perhaps possible that you find your answers that way (if other modders found a way)

Why doesn't it work on MP campaigns when your friend has the same files like you?
There must be a way to make it running on already started camaigns. I want to understand the logic behind it. Has mybe the safe file be altered as well?
I would appreciate your reply, telling me your thoughts.

uhm, the AI do not focus on player, there are many factors affecting diplomacy in the game now, so there is no "artificial difficulty"

your problem is tied to more factors i can highlight with more infos (if you need ;-) )

you can modify the default file (BUT you have to keep a backup because i dont know if there will be compatibility troubles with friends) or even create your own mod

We started this campaign 3 weeks ago with this mod activated from the start. We also did a test campaign today with only this mod activated and it still did not change the objective limit, (we also tried your fix to remove hidden mods) It seems the mod need some fixes.

my mod does not affect already started games

so if you "discovered" that you didnt have my mod effect ongoing in your current game, you cant change it mid-game :-(

the only way to verify if the mod is activated for your future game is to start a new one and check the objectives :-/

Hello me and my friend are playing a multiplayer head to head campaign with your mod and we've only recently realised 100+ turns into our campaign that the mod isn't actually working. We use Kaedrins mod manager but still tried your fixes below to no avail. We also turned all our other mods off and tried just yours in a seperate multiplayer campaign and it still didn't update the settlements to 300 so we don't know what else to do to fix it. Do you have any ideas?

then it seems to be the classical launcher bug

i advice you to do the following fix (as it fixed me + some other friends)

fix 1)

"open the following location => ”USER”\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly <=
and delete the “Launcher” folder if it is present. This will remove any corrupted or old Launcher data."

note: this wont do any bug, this directory will be auto-recreated when launching the launcher again (while starting TWW2)

fix 2)

when you start the launcher, desactivate all your mod and start the game to make sure you dont have "hidden mods" still activated (as the launcher seems to not desactivate properly the unsubscribed-deleted mods from teh workshop)
=> if you still got mod activated that you have deleted, just hit the button "desactivate all mods"

(tell me if you still got the bug after this)
